Threetom Doppio is now officially available! 🥳

video upload by Threetom Modular

Threetom Modular DOPPIO / clean amp, dirty drive and useful limiter / brief demo / first patches

video upload by BRiES

"DOPPIO by Threetom Modular is a stereo (or two channel) saturator/soft clipper that was designed to bring all the dirt where you want it but remain clean where you need it. You can use it to add huge amounts of noisefree gain to weak signals or to make a clean sound more saturated by using a selectable soft clipping circuit. The most useful feature and the one I will probably use most of the time is the soft clipping 'limit' setting, which gives the user the ability to set a safe master volume and bring in some saturation.

This video is not an extensive playthrough but rather a quick rundown of the features of this brand new Threetom Modular creation. There's a few patch examples in this video but I'm sure I'll make more uploads using DOPPIO when I run into things that benefit from a fresh caffeine shot. I'm confident this will be a great boost to my drumsection (pun intented)."

Doppio eurorack module demo w/ MS-22 & Mixing Flask

video upload by Stazma

"Today is about a new module by Threetom Modular, a dual pre-amplifier called Doppio, meant to bring the caffeine to your rack. I'll also use this occasion to show youa little bit about his main module, the MS-22 filter, but also about a nice utility mixer he has in the work, the Mixing Flask."

Altar 2 by Ritual Electronics - Demo and Overview

video upload by Stazma

"Today I'll be showing you the Altar 2, a very good sounding and looking analog 18dB/octave state variable discrete filter, made by Ritual Electronics in Marseille, France.

Because of it's look and the fact there's no filter in the Buchla & Tiptop Audio line Ive decided to use it in my 'Buchla Suitcase' for a recent two weeks modular class and everyone liked it there.

Have fun!

00:00 Intro
01:02 Overview
07:29 Talking Filter Patch
09:51 Ping It!
14:07 Drum Machine processing w/ System80 880
19:01 Feedback patching & jam
22:29 End talk"

The Ritual Electronics Altar is a 3-pole 18db/oct state-variable filter with the ability to smoothly crossfade between filter types. The module's resonance has an attenuverter in it's CV input which allows for quick bumps in the resonance that can act as "accents" to liven up your patterns. Additionally the module's input gain can drive the filter core into distortion, and the ability to run two inputs into the filter allows you to push it even harder. This combined with the module's crossfading filter design give Altar multiple options for ever changing, yet still very rich timbres.

ALTAR II FEATURES

3-pole, 18dB/oct state-variable filter for Eurorack modular synthesizers
Redesigned discrete transistor core
Filter type can smoothly fade between Bandpass, Lowpass, and Highpass modes
Input gain stage drives into distortion
CV for filter type blend (Color), filter cutoff frequency, and resonance—each with dedicated attenuverters

5 minutes jam with the 880 - #808day 2023

video upload by Stazma

"More infos and affiliate links in the description // Support on Patreon to get samples from this session: https://www.patreon.com/join/stazma

Here is a jam with my Repeat Eater setup, using only my 880 and it's signal processing chain (Moog MF-101, Gamechanger Audio Light Pedal, Earthquaker Devices Avalance Run on an aux send for the dubby vibes).

It was meant as a rehearsal for myself as I have a show with this setup later this week. I'll record a session with the whole acid thing going. But to celebrate this 808day I wanted to embrace the full minimalistic drum machine experience. I'm surprised that it's actualy not that boring to listen to hahaha.

You'll be able to download the session on Patreon and use any the parts you want as samples in your tracks if you want.

BASTL Introduces the Bestie Stereo Mixer

video upload by Bastl Instruments

Follow-up to Bastl Discontinues the Dude

"We are excited to announce our new portable 5-channel stereo mixer Bestie. It is a re-imagination of our popular mixer Dude (released in May 2017), but this time for flexible stereo connectivity and with portable USB-powered setups in mind. But it comes with a twist! We are not new to mixer feedback and distortion so channel 3 on the Bestie is pre-routed as a feedback channel for that extra dirt and distortion. Without the feedback, Bestie is a very clean mixer with a clean boost with up to +20dB per channel and well-crafted saturation characteristics."

Bastl brings us the Bestie, a spiritual successor to their Dude mixer, but this time with a built-in feedback loop and, surely to the delight of many, five channels of stereo operation. Housed in a metal casing, the Bestie is ready for touring, live performance, and with the option to be battery powered, this is one of the best options for recording your outdoor sessions. With the same saturated sound that made the Dude beloved, the Bestie can drive your signal hard and to take that one step further, leave the third channel open and your entire mix will feedback into itself for wild noisy sounds.

In fact, you don't even need to plug any input into the Bestie: create multiple feedback loops with external effects and use the third channel level control to bring in self-oscillating sounds. While it's easy to get over-saturated sounds, the Bestie is also equipped with low-noise preamps letting you use this as a wonderful standard mixer with ease. Each channel can use stereo inputs with channels 1 and 5 having two mono 3.5mm TS inputs and the other using 3.5mm TRS inputs. Along with that, a dedicated headphone output with a pre/post mute option lets you use this as a great live mixer with a cue output if desired. Bastl's Bestie might become your next bestie with its compact size, great size, and creative options.

BESTIE FEATURES

5-channel stereo mixer
Built-in feedback path via channel 3 for no input mixing
Low-noise preamps with overdrive characteristics when pushed
Mute switches for each channel
Headphone output with pre/post mute switch
Up to 20dB of boost per channel
Metal casing
USB-C and AA battery powered

"System80 880 in a Moog Eurorack case with a 4MS power Supply custom installed along with a Moog carrying bag. I took the bus board / power supply out of a 4MS Pod60 and self installed into the Moog case because I liked the look of the Moog case. I drilled holes in the moog case and just dropped in the bus board, very amateur install but it works. Some markings on the back of the Moog chassis to help me line up the drill holes right but case is otherwise in great condition. Actual 880 module is in wonderful condition. I will include the Pod60 chassis in case you want to unscrew the bus board from the Moog and drop back in the Pod60."

System80 880 2020 Black

via this auction

"System80 880. The eurorack 808.

This module kicks butt. But honestly I sold off my entire eurorack collection and have just this left and a case. I love this module, it responds perfectly to the Squarp Pyramid, and is a great source module at 60 HP.

The serial number is B-100."

System80 881 Trigger Input Interface (TII) for 880 TR-808 Eurorack Module

video by System80

"Video tutorial for setting up the Trigger Input Interface (TII).

These instructions work for both the 881 8 HP Eurorack expander module as well as the TII in the 880 desktop enclosure.

Trigger Input Interface or 'Tee Eye Eye' is a bit of mouthful, so we've abbreviated it as 'T2' interpreting the 'II' as Roman numerals.

The TII uses the TRIGGER 1 and TRIGGER 2 lines as a serial data interface. This is why there is a fairly baroque series of steps for setting up the TII."
