"Superbooth 18 starts in less than one week and we can't wait to show you our new prototypes and synths!

We will be at booth number O236, come by to say hi :)

More over we will introduce our new products on Friday the 4th, 3:20pm at the Cinema (o120).

"This year will be about the Quadrantid Swarm release - we are actually waiting for the final product to come back from production.

Saddly we won't have the final version with us during the Superbooth.

It will feature the addition of a new cv input for the control of the Spread parameter of the oscillator, and a switch between decay and release for the envelope.

Oscillator modes have changed too!

We will start shipping the QS during the month of June."

"The Quandrantid Swarm is a digital synthesizer that features a percussive element to give it a unique sound. It contains a two-pole analog filter, an LFO with eight waveforms, and a spring reverb. "Bastl Instruments x Casper Electronics' SoftPopII SP2 is live: 'a radical subtractive synth under the influence of unconventional digital control. It’s a rare beast that excels at both melody and noise in equal measure, ranging from bassline bangers, angelic chord progressions, distorted beats, and water droplets. It can even process inbound audio through the filter and VCA.'

Pretty words, but how does it actually sound in a live setting? In this video by Noise Kitchen staff Lotus Wash and Niels Aras we get right to it — two Bastl Instruments x Casper Electronics SoftPop SP2, one Eowave Quadrantid Swarm, one Moog DFAM, processed through Valhalla Supermassive, nothing else.

Over the 13 minutes multiple different dimensions of sound are explored, from punchy acid rollers and psychedelic slow-motion dancefloor beats, Niels Aras & Lotus Wash guide you through how the SoftPopII can be weaponised for the rave, away from the more ambient electronica applications of the synth heard elsewhere.

The Quandrantid Swarm is a versatile, unique instrument for sound designers and musicians looking to explore exquisite and unfamiliar timbres that range from subtle to outrageous, nebulous to shimmering. It is comprised of a digital synthesizer voice with a percussive element, 2 pole analog filter, 8 waveforms for modulation, and a spring reverb. The 8 touch keys can be used as a mono keyboard, polyphonic keyboard or an 8 step sequencer. The QS interfaces with other instruments via MIDI, and CV/Trig inputs.

The first prototype will be released at Superbooth 17, official release date to be announced. RRP is currently 499€ (subject to change on release)"
