Roland TR-808 with Mods

via this auction

"At all times, you hear the very 808 I'm selling here.
The recordings are not altered, I have justed added some plugin compression to even out the sounds.
[Note these are hosted on http://www.gearslut.net] - if anyone knows the page with the links there, let me know and I'll update the post.]

Sample 1:
First, standard snare (no cable inserted).
Then, when the BD kicks in, some white noise from a Korg MS20 plugin is inserted into the 808's snare circuit.
You can hear when I open the LP filter of the MS20 plug at 0:14, leading to a brighter snare sound.

Sample 2:
A bright synth pad is routed to the CYMB / HH circuit of the 808.
Then I'm tweaking the Cymbal sound on the 808.
From 0:15 to 0:20 you hear the untreated 808 Cymbals, then the cable with the external synth pad is plugged in again.

Sample 3:
Different kinds of ext. noise routed to CYMB / HH.
Later in the clip, I'm demoing the switch toggling the reverb of the Claps (on/off).
After that you hear a cheesy synth pad routed through the 808's clap circuit."

"A little jam on some instruments I've made / modded, including:

A toy keyboard (the oddly named "Rock n Board")
A synth I made from a transistor radio
Some oscillators

The bass & drum loops are playing from Reason, switched with an Akai LPD8

The song is called "Bondage & Discipline" and it's on my album here: baldwinfunmachine.bandcamp.com (free song download right meow)"

Instruments in order of appearance: LFO, Shaker, HR16B Drum Machine (with Big Muff), Animal Band toy keyboard, LFO.

Audio jumps around a bit at the start. Sorry."
