"The Buchla 259e Complex Waveform Generator has a special mode where, instead of using the regular wavetables, it actually scans it's own program memory of the internal CPU. You might think that chaos would ensue, and at times it does, but there are a lot of very interesting timbres to be found within!"

"Dune in Concert, January 31st 2010. Like the previous two videos, this was shot during
sound-check to avoid having the camera running around in front of the audience during
performance. A few shots from our studio gear thrown in for good measure ( and to compensate for
bad footage...)
At 1:43, you see the Formant modular built by Ludo - the flute player in the video - in
the seventies. It has an EMS-like matrix which is very flexible.
Instruments used live: Elektrix Repeater, Novation A-station and KS rack,Roland V-synth, Kawai K5000,
EMU X-board 25, Roland S760, Emu Ultra-Proteus, Waldorf micro Q. Please enjoy."
Zeta Synthony II Violin MIDI controller w Synth
via this auction
"The Synthony II is Zeta’s proprietary MIDI controller with a built-in sound synthesizer. The unit includes a pitch-to-MIDI converter that recognizes the analog notes generated by Zeta’s E-Series, Strados Series or Jazz Series pickups and converts the analog signal into digital MIDI information. This MIDI information allows the Synthony to create sounds, and/or send digital information to other MIDI devices, including the ability to access computer software programs such as music notation and publishing programs.
The Synthony II allows the string player to access the world of MIDI and digital information using their Zeta instrument as a MIDI controller. It is no longer necessary for the string player to use a piano keyboard or computer keyboard in order to access MIDI or create MIDI files. The string player can use the Zeta instruments to create MIDI music files with full bowing nuances and expression, opening the door to use of MIDI in education, studio recording, live performances, and in the exploding world of digital internet uses.
Open a whole new world of musical creativity and add this Synthony to your electric violin today!"
