"Moog Music Inc. is proud to present Dr. Joseph Akins’ five part series on the fundamentals of synthesizer programming. Dr. Akins is an associate professor at Middle Tennessee State University and strives to teach his students a complete understanding of synthesizers and computers as tools for modern music production. In this five part series Dr. Akins uses a Voyager to teach the process through which a synthesizer’s sound is generated and the techniques needed to program your own sounds and sonic experiments. In part one of this five part series Dr. Akins gives a brief history of synthesizers, goes over basic synthesizer theory, and overviews basic signal flow."

I Dream of Wires' Solvent Eurorack Modular Noise

A Eurorack Storm w/Cylonix.WMD.Pittsburgh.Intellijel.Livewire.

"Here is a new modular noise improv, created by Jason Amm (Solvent) on his Eurorack system. Watch your speakers - this often loud and ugly. Note - the "storm" begins just after the six minute mark.

Cylonix Cyclebox digital VCO module module (0101 mode) provides the rhythm and modulates (via the Cyclebox's Lag Out) the LPF & HPF of a WMD Micro Hadron Controller dual VCF module. The Cyclebox audio is going through the WMD filter. An LFO modulates the Mix-CV on the WMD, alternating between the LPF & HPF channels. Delay is from a Pittsburgh Analog Delay module through one channel of Intellijel Corgasmastron dual VCF module in HPF mode. A drone is introduced - a Pittsburgh Generator dual VCO module through Intellijel uFold wavefolder module - also fed through the WMD filter. The Generator is modulated by a Livewire Dalek Modulator module. The three elements (Cyclebox rhythm, Pittsburgh delay, Generator/uFold drone) are faded in and out manually via various mixer and attenuator modules.

The Analog Lab NYC-Korg PS-3300-Erik Satie Gymnopedies No 1 (Just Intonation)

YouTube Uploaded by TheAnalogLab on Feb 3, 2012

"Korg PS-3300 recently repaired and restored by The Analog Lab

The PS-3300 allows you to tune each individual note on the front panel of each module. We decided to take this opportunity to put it in Just Intonation and play some Satie.

The main problem with this unit was all of the connectors for the bus bars attached to the circuit boards were cracked."
