This module gives you no less than three fully independant linear VCAs with very similar response between each VCA in the same module or between modules.

I know that I'm closer to the subject than most, but the more I look at this image, the more powerful it becomes. For Bob, the importance of his work was not about external praise and adulation, but rather about the ideas flowing through his head that he was able to share with others, with hopes of empowering them creatively. "interactive audio-visual installation

There exists ambivalent attitude towards amber from the point of view of electronics – on one side, it’s an ideal dielectric, from another side, it gave the name to all 'electricity'. The main idea of the project is to use amber at the same time as decoration and as non-standard conductor of data, which so to say implements the poetic 'amberization' of information and as a result, of the visitors’ portraits.

The visitor makes a self-portrait which is transformed into the data flow represented by flashes which are transmitted through large pieces of amber. Every portrait is transformed into a low-resolution picture, where every pixel has 256 gradations of brightness. The information about pixels’ brightness is further transferred as flashes of light through the pieces of amber and is perceived by a photoresistor. A special screen is showing the image appearing pixel by pixel; this image is later printed on a photo printer. The speakers which supplement the installation emit sounds which correspond to the brightness of each pixel.

NOISE.KITCHEN SYNTH FEST - June 12 - 15 Brno, Czech Republic

"NOISE.KITCHEN SYNTH FEST SynthFest = tweak + listen + build + enjoy SYNTHS

Bastl Instruments, Kabinet Múz and Skleněná louka are inviting you to the first year of Synth Fest in Brno, Czech republic. Whole friday in Kabinet Múz will be dedicated to Synth Meeting where you can try and listen to many various synths from all over the world which will be presented by their own makers. In the evening the main hall will turn into a place where dance will be inevitable.

Saturday will host informal moderated brunch with Peter Kirn of Create Digital Music about the present and future of electronic musical instruments. In the afternoon the festival will move to Skleněná Louka where various synth building workshops will take their place. But mainly there will be opening of very unique synth shop NOISE.KITCHEN. The evening will be dedicated to more experimental electronic music in the basement stage. Sunday, Monday and maybe also tuesday will give a chance to build mainly (but not only) Bastl Instruments modules and synths for really crazy cheap prices!

The event is supported by the best deputy major for culture Matěj Hollan.

"The Pro-8 (or Split-8, they are the same instrument) can be thought of as a wonderful companion (or even competitor) to the Juno-106. It may not have the essential fatness of the 106 and its chorus may not be exactly lavish, but it has a few functions the 106 lacks that make it a very serious sound shaping tool:

- VCOs (not DCOs like the 106) which make the unison sound like it should - huge and meaty.

- Programmable split point allowing you to play two patches independently.

- Dual mode, stacking two sounds to form a 4 voice, 2 osclllator synth.

- Poly Mod (not to be confused with the on in Prophets, though) that allows to modulate one patch with another and create FM-ish or spooky, overdriven sounds.

Matrix programming is immediate and very, very fast. The Pro-8 is a joy to use.

The instrument has been serviced, keyboard, pots and switches regenerated and new patch battery fitted. It's in absolutely fantastic condition, it looks almost new."
