7 Synths // Live @ Erica Synths Garage

Published on Oct 18, 2017 Erica Synths

"7 Synths perform live using: Korg King, Korg Kaoss Pad, Korg Kaossilator, Korg MS2000, Alesis Micron, Acces Virus Indigo, Waldorf Bloefeld.

7 Synths is a solo project of keyboardist, composer & producer Kaspars Tobis. Since 2000, he has been a member of the rock-band Dzelzs Vilks (Iron Wolf in Latvian), which has been one of the most successful alternative bands in Latvia for more than two decades. Apart from programming and playing keyboards in Dzelzs Vilks, he has been collaborating with musicians in Latvia and abroad, to name a few - Brainstorm, Mumiy Troll, Ainars Mielavs and others. Kaspars has also co-authored music for several theatre performances as well as for contemporary dance performances by Olga Zitluhina. In 2001 his first solo album Zenithsign was released. His second album Concert for 7 Synthesizers was released in 2013 and has received the Latvian Music Recording Award, Zelta Mikrofons as the Best Electronic Album 2013. In relation to this record, media often calls him the Latvian Jean Michel Jarre. The artist himself explains that the project 7 Synths takes the feeling of working in an electronic studio to the stage while performing both prepared compositions & creating sequences in real time. In his performances Kaspars uses four to nine digital & analog synthesisers & different devices and the combination is never the same."

"Echo" with Roland Jupiter 8, Jupiter 6, Juno 60, Juno 106, and MSQ-700

Published on Oct 17, 2017 Machiwoomiapoo

"'Echo' with Roland Jupiter 8, Jupiter 6, Juno 60, Juno 106, and MSQ-700

I was playing with the Jupiter 6 and the TC Electronics Flashback pedal on the Ping setting and I discovered this rhythmic idea. Then I added the Juno 60 with an arp style patch which was plugged into the TC Electronics Alter Ego x4 on the Copycat setting (later the Rev setting) and then plugged into the TC Electronics T2 pedal on the VII setting. Next I used the Juno 106 with some serious release going through the vintage Roland DEP-5 on setting 31 for a little Echo effect. Finally, I plugged the Jupiter 8 through the Eventide Timefactor on the "Lost" setting and the Eventide Space on the "Blackhole" setting. I used the Juno 106 and Jupiter 8 for the solos. I wanted to experiment with the "Echo" settings on the pedals. What do you think? Thanks for watching! Please subscribe, share, leave feedback, and let me know about your music as well! I enjoy listening to everybody else's music on YouTube too. Keep up the great work. You are all very inspirational. Take care, Sam."

New Divide & Conquer & Sly Grogan from nonlinearcircuits

divide & conquer plus a sly grogan Published on Oct 17, 2017 cirtcele

"Just a patch based around the Divide & Conquer, the Sly Grogan is fairly evident as well."

Divide & Conquer via nonlinearcircuits

"This module is intended to be a companion module for the Bindubba Sequencer."

SLY GROGAN via nonlinearcircuits

"SLY GROGAN is an envelope generator based on the design in Electronotes #86. It can produce a wide variety of different envelopes and bursts, perhaps most interesting is the ability to have the envelopes ringing after the attack stage. It also works well as a voltage controlled LFO, tho the module is neither a LFO nor a regular ADSR.
Please note: it no longer contains a VCA, this was dropped in favour of tapping the extra outputs (2&3)."
