Samplist is an amazing success story. Developer Alex Buga built his first music app in just 3 weeks with free tools (Swift & AudioKit) and it shot to the Top 5 paid music apps in the USA.

In this interview, he talks about his motivation, design, and development tools. Making a music app from scratch can be daunting. However, Alex persisted. A developer and musician, he powered through to create the app he wanted.

"I love the DFAM but the tiny black plastic knobs on the pitch and velocity controls just weren't cutting it for me, so I ordered some more traditional knobs from Thonk and bang... instant upgrade. They fit right on top of the old knobs so you don't even have to swap them out.

"We have been invited to take the Mad Music Machine to the Horsham Piazza Italia Festival which features many Italian (and other) high performance cars.

We thought it would be fun to incorporate samples of these cars into our music. Here Caitlin creates a basic drum machine using drum samples in the E370 and cars sounds in the Stereo Triggered Sampler .

The E370 makes for a great drum machine as the drum samples are very are easily tuned and triggered."
