Eventide Blackhole iOS & Waldorf Blofeld

Published on Jul 21, 2019 Todd Smith Music

"All sounds are from the Waldorf Blofeld presets drenched in Eventide Blackhole iOS. I'm loving the space this thing can bring to sounds, obviously great for heavy atmosphere based music."

Coral - Ambient - Cocoquantus / Modular / Digitone / Digitakt / Tape

Published on Jul 21, 2019 Jogging House

Listen to the individual tracks. This one got me thinking about positional audio and dynamics. Music not only benefits from space to breath, but imagine being able to use VR controllers to position the individual tracks around you. Someone needs to come out with interactive positional music.

Video description:

"This is track nr. six of my new album 'Lure'. It is available digitally, on tape and vinyl here: https://seilrecords.bandcamp.com/albu...

'Coral' is composed with a Ciat Lonbarde Cocoquantus, a Eurorack modular system, Elektron Digitakts and a Digitone. Everything is sent through OTO Bim & Bam and then directly into the Revox B77 1/4" tape recorder.

Fun fact: When the camera is shaking a bit, that's my head hitting the tripod ...

I hope you enjoy it."

Published on Jul 20, 2019 optigandotcom

Here's a quickie mini remix we made of "The Outer Space" for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing on 07/20/2019. The images are from Pea's vast archive of found photos, in this case some shots taken of a video monitor that day. The original version of "The Outer Space" is on our album "Exclusively Talentmaker." http://optigan.com/shoptigan/music-cd...

Apollo Sky - Ambient Piano

Published on Jul 20, 2019 Nathan D Farrell

"Using enso looper to compose a short piano piece. My goal was to somehow light up all 12 keys. Apps used: AUM, enso looper, Ravenscroft 275, eventide ultratap delay, Rozeta midi suite, and pro r reverb. #iosmusician #modernclassical #ambientpiano"

The iPad continues to remind me of a PPG Realizer on steroids. It just morphs into whatever you want.

ELKA Synthex 7-20-2019

Published on Jul 20, 2019 SynthMania

"Closing the loop and got the Synthex for my (belated) big 5 'o b-day. The Synthex is *the synth of my teenager years in Italy 1983-1985. I don't have much time tonight so this is just a quick demo done in ten minutes - I will upload a more thorough video tomorrow where I'll be talking about my story with the Synthex and why it's an important synth to me, more than the Jupiters / Moogs / Oberheims / PPGs / DX7 etc. and where we'll also go through the on-board sequencer, the panel features and the various modes as well."

Analog Style Sounds- Waldorf Quantum

Published on Jul 20, 2019 100 Things I Do

"A suggestion from someone on the Waldorf Quantum Facebook group (sorry I forgot your name!) Today we explore the classic oscillator style synthesis on the Quantum. Up front I decided to use no effects, no LFO's just the oscillators and the main Analog filter. The oscillators have a few tricks that make them sound massive, warm and like the big poly synths of old! If you add the Komplex Modulator to the pitch and waveform you get very close to that analog feel in deed!"

Tom Oberheim Get's the Oberheim Trademark & Brand Back

Word is out that Gibson has returned the Oberheim Trademark & brand back to Tom Oberheim in a gesture of good will. How cool is that?!

I thought this image appropriate. :) Tom Oberheim and Dave Smith of course worked together on the Sequential OB-6 and are close friends. One of Sequential's top synth designer's formerly worked on classics like the OB-Xa for the original Oberheim.

“Of the many stories I have heard and decisions I have made since joining Gibson, this situation seemed simple,” says James ‘JC’ Curleigh, president and CEO of Gibson, in a statement. “Let’s do the right thing by putting the Oberheim brand back in the hands of its namesake founder Tom Oberheim.”

According to Gibson, the seeds for this development were planted in Winter NAMM 2019, when a chance encounter between Curleigh and Oberheim took place. “After over 30 years of being without it, I am thrilled to once again be able to use the Oberheim trademark for my products,” said Oberheim. “I am very grateful to the new leadership team of Gibson for making this possible.”
