My DIY modular synth.

"This is really me experimenting with recording the audio separately so I don't have to use the crappy camera sound.

The main bass part is a Yusynth VCO and a TH VCO-1 going through a MS20 Filter clone (Rene Schmitz version, mostly). The other leadish part is a XR-VCO going through a SSM2044 Filter.

BugBrand Pattern Generator

"Bugbrands pattern generator on the solderless breadboard. I probably violate every rule of breadboarding right here, but it works."

Bugbrands pattern generators II

"My finished Bugbrand Pattern Generators.
The Schematic can be located at http://www.bugbrand.co.uk/pages/elect...

I assembled it from the schematic on vectorboard (or whatever the crap you call it). I doubled everything and used a TL072. Hours of fun.

The Wogglebug tells a ghost story.

YouTube via Crashlander42
"A creepy patch of random voltages and bleeps and bloops. Inspired by beer, chocolate and insomnia.

I am using:
Wogglebug
XRVCO
TH VCO-1
Wasp VCF cLone
SSM2044 VCF
MS20 VCF clone
PS3100 Resonators

Wogglebug!!

"Wogglebug at last! Here I'm using my MIDI clock to control the Wogglebug. I'm using the cv outputs of the Wogglebug to control my PS3100 resonators. Lots of flashing LEDs and noise. yeay."

Akai VX-90

YouTube via bigcitymusic
"This is a great 6-voice analog poly synth from Akai made in the mid eighties. You can save up to one-hundred presets. This synth has all the typical waveforms; triangle, square, saw and a saw plus square hybrid. This piece is for sale on ebay"

Playing around with KORG DS-10

YouTube via VIPSTARHinaichigo
"Terrible video quality and sound out of sync. But at least now I know recording video using Cheese on EeePC might not be the best solution.

Anyway, the music itself has some nice moments and DS-10 is a lot of fun to use. It might be a bit repetitive since I'm not very used to playing "live"."

Thomas Henry Mega Percussive Synthesizer Circuit Board on Sale

"The Mega Percussive Synthesizer (MPS) is an extremely versatile percussion voice module designed by Thomas Henry. The MPS consists of three seperate tunable oscillators, a ring modulator, a noise generator, a voltage controlled resonant filter with two selectable responses (low pass or band pass), three VCAs, and a mixer section for mixing these elements together to fine tune a very realistic percussive sound. The MPS utilizes a dedicated VCO for generating the impact portion of a percussive voice. This method imparts a surprising level of realism to any voice programmed by the MPS. In addition to its main function as a percussive voice generator, the MPS can be used as an exotic noise/sound generator by switching its VCAs open and using its internal oscillators and noise generators to generate any number of exotic sounds and effects. More information about the Thomas Henry MPS can be found here."

They are currently listed for $15 on electro-music.com.

CUCKOO + Tenori-on

YouTube via cuckoomusic
"A lot of friends ask me about the Tenori-on. Is it worth it? Is it good? So I thought I'd show you how I jam with it. This is the way I very often come up with ideas for new songs.

Browsing for Tenori-on videos on youtube you'll soon realize it's very versetile. Even though the sound set is so limited people use it in all kinds of ways. I use it mostly for CUCKOO music ;)

Enjoy!

"Ocarina, for iPhone, for SMule."

SMule: Ocarina for iPhone [Zeldarian]

"Ocarina, for iPhone, by SMule. http://www.smule.com/"

"The Ocarina synthesizes sound in real-time, just like a regular instrument, based on actual gestures including wind input, tilt, and finger placement over the four holes overlaid on the multi-touch pad. Unlike other iPhone audio apps, the sound is not pre-compiled but is generated by the notes, gestures and nuance of the individual performer. As a result, it allows an iPhone user to explore and master the musical sounds of an entirely iPhone-native version of an ancient flute-like instrument.

Smule's audio engine (CHiP) and the Smule Sonic Network make it possible to hear live performances around the world. With the globe view, you can hear performances, and see the origin of that performance.

This is the fourth in a series of innovative applications from Smule (www.smule.com), based on the developer's innovative mobile audio platform."

VEMIA - Roland System 100 102

via this VEMIA auction
"Incredible 102 System 100 expander, like something straight out of a Tokyo shopfront display c. 1976, complete with the original price-tag. There are three marks on the top panel, and apart from that it really would be perfectly saleable as new (though it has no box, manual or accessories). The sockets are more bright and shiny than I ever remember them; it doesn't look like it's ever got dusty; the plastic protective bits are still on the outsides of the knobs; and the whole panel still looks like new no matter how closely you look. I suspect that I might be the first person ever to switch it on. Like most things that have been left covered up for 30 years, it wasn't quite 100% when first played - the filter cutoff slider was slightly noisy to start with - so it's being checked over and anything at all out of spec will be re-calibrated before sending. Japanese voltage and plug - close enough (we think) but not absolutely identical to US."

VEMIA - Tiracon 6V

via this VEMIA auction

Tiracon 6V by V.E.B. Automatisierungsanlagenbau Cottbus

"Produced in '88 in East Germany, 6 voice analog synth, one VCO per voice, 3 LFO, 2 EG, 24dB LPF with resonance, 12dB HPF with resonance. Tiracon has basic MIDI, 32 backupable sound memories, pitchbend / modulation joystick. It has new capacitors in power supply, everything works well. Optical shape is very nice, except the highest F key was broken and re-glued (see picture). It comes with hard case and all manuals including service manual. Delivery from CZ to UK is 50 pounds, to continental Europe 50 Euro. More info here and here"

VEMIA - Synton 3000 Modular

via this VEMIA auction

"Classic Synton 3000 modules in a fairly nasty white melamine cabinet. The modules are far better cosmetic condition than the cabinet. Complete with Synton original power supply and manual, and 20 good-condition colour-coded various length patchcords. Serviced about a year ago by Bert Vermeulen of Synton, but a VCA has since stopped working. Modules: 4x VCO, PRM/NRG, 2VCA, 3x VCF, 2LFO, S&H/LFO, 2x EGR, custom 3001 (4 pots, 8 sockets), 3x MXA, MPL, 2x ENV/CPR, 2INVSLR, 3022 Binary Divider, 3023 VCFLO."
