Futureretro Transient Now Shipping

Published on May 30, 2017 FutureRetroSynths

"May 30th 2017, Futureretro release the Transient drum module."

Futureretro Transient

"The Transient takes a different approach to generating drum sounds, and the results it produces are really quite unique.

More than 400 samples are the basis of sound in the Transient. These samples include sounds from classic drum machines as well as modern drum and percussion sounds from the XS and UDS (an unreleased product of ours).
The voice architecture in the Transient is unique in that it allows plain old samples to really come to life, and sound natural with variations, and response to dynamics and other control voltages.

Although designed to recreate single drum instrument voices, the Transient can sound as though entire beats or loops are being generated. More than just a sample playback module, the Transient really is a well featured drum voice synthesizer, including two sample voices, loads of AM/Ring/Sample/CV modulation possibilities, voice crossfader, mixers, dynamics and multimode filter sections, and even digital effects.

The Transient comes loaded with more than 250 Preset instruments to get users going immediately, and provides 40 User locations to store custom Instrument settings to."

WORNG LRMSMSLR Mid-Side Encoder-Decoder Thonk DIY KIT Build+Patch Test - Eurorack Synth DIY

"WORNG Electronics LRMSMSLR Mid-Side Encoder-Decoder Eurorack Module 'Thonk' DIY KIT Build Steps and Test Patch Video (2018)

Mid/side processing is extremely useful and common practice in mixing and mastering. It allows you to process the Mid Content and Side content of your stereo signal independently. For example, in the patch I used to test my WORNG LRMSMSLR DIY KIT purchased from thonk.co.uk I use the LRMSMSLR Eurorack Module to add AJH GEMINI 2412 Filtering to the Mid content of my stereo signal and only to the Mid Content. At the same time I am adding Fuzz Distortion only to the Side content of the stereo signal by sending the SIDE signal through the Retro Mechanical Labs Electron Fuzz Custom EFCCV Eurorack Module

But that’s just the start, there is a lot you can do with the ability to press Mid and Side content of a stereo signal, the WORNG LRMSMSLR is an extremely useful tool opening up a lot of creative doors.

Futureretro Transient drum module - playing with presets

Published on Mar 20, 2017 FutureRetroSynths

"During the SXSW Synth Expo we shot some footage while playing with some of the Preset sounds currently in the Transient drum module. Eventually there will be 216 preset sounds to get users started quickly, and for use as templates when creating your own custom sounds that can be stored in any of the 40 user memory locations.

Listen to presets like CL-CL-CLAPS, ZAP!, and SPIKEPHASE… and notice the humanization the Transient provides to ordinary samples.

All sounds recorded direct from the Transient output, no further effects have been applied."

Futureretro Transient and Revolution at the Synth Expo SXSW 2017

Published on Mar 20, 2017 FutureRetroSynths

"Here's some footage filmed at the Synth Expo SXSW 2017. 2x Orb sequencer units were triggering 2x Transient drum modules, while the Revolution synced to the Orb and provided the baseline.

Unfortunately the volume levels were mixed on headphones in a noisy environment so apologies for the Revolution being a bit loud in parts."
