It went on a bit too long as usual but it doesn't matter.

portamentos
portamentos from stretta on Vimeo.
"demonstration of portamentos which is an application designed to take advantage of a technique of abstracting high resolution parameter data onto the monome grid.
The grid displays several parameters (pitch, amplitude level, attack, decay, portamento time and filter cutoff) per step. Instead of using the grid to enter in data, which would be fairly coarse, the grid is used to indicate parameter value and to select which parameter and step is in focus. The parameter value is abstracted twice, both on the grid and arc ring. Once any parameter is selected on the grid, the value for all visible steps are displayed."
Seeburg Rhythm Prince - Vintage 1960's Drum Synth
via this auction
"Seeburg Rhythm Prince vintage drum synth. Made sometime in the early 1960's. Everything works perfectly. Really cool mechanism. A motor spins around on the inside triggering all the notes. Very rare. RCA mono output with 1/4" adapter. "
Ululatron
YouTube Uploaded by cv11223344 on Jul 2, 2011
"This is my modification of a Yamaha PSS-50 keyboard. It uses 6 555 times and vactrols to trigger the keys. Rate is controller via potentiometer and note is controlled with 5 rotary switches and a dpdt switch (there were two notes left over). I called it the "ululatron" because it goes into and out of patterns like a pendulums swinging at different rates. There are no effects on the sound. What you hear is the very first thing I did--I'm sure with some more practice it can sound better. And some reverb and delay of course ;-)"

Teenage Engineering OP-1 - messing around right after unboxing
YouTube Uploaded by Alfredsolax on Jul 1, 2011
"www.federicosolazzo.com - Like another well-known Swedish brand, I think this is an insanely intuitive machine!!! Just pulled out of the box, without knowing where to put my hands..This is the result. It's simply unbelievable!! All the sounds from the OP-1. Direct LR outputs to Logic. For the drum machine I have used his "PATTERN" sequencer (which is polyphonic, so it can play multiple sounds at once).
Here (http://tinyurl.com/op-1reverse) you can find the Teenage Engineering OP-1 manual in reverse print (black print on a white background) , more handy to be printed!
Hope you enjoy it!

Elektron Octatrack OS 1.0 Released!

"We have just uploaded OS 1.0 for the Octatrack DPS-1. It is the single biggest Octatrack OS update so far and greatly improves the machine. Download OS 1.0 and the updated manual here.
The OS features our most advanced MIDI sequencing offering to date. The eight dedicated MIDI tracks include assignable MIDI LFOs and customizable MIDI arpeggiators, allowing for both in-depth and experimental control of all relevant MIDI parameters.
The Flex and Static machines have seen improvements as well. The added parameters and the enhanced slice functionality make it easier than ever to shape audio material in new and rewarding ways.
Apart from these two major features a lot of other things have been refined.
The user interface has been tweaked for easier interaction with the machine, more flexible methods of sampling have been implemented and the new personalize menu lets a user fine tune several aspects of the Octatrack workflow.
A big thank you goes to our eminent beta testing crew!

"Korg VC 10 Vocoder from 1978. This is the one! Classic 20 band vocoder that has a flavor all it's own, this does NOT include the mc-01 microphone. To vocode your voice, you are better off using an sm 58 in my opinion, or just bussing your vocals into the mic input.

Kissing the Night
YouTube Uploaded by beckhusen on Jul 2, 2011
"Time to make a different thing from my usual style and to produce something with a driving beat.
For this track i used my Filterbank "Ebbe & Flut" which i use really rare. The audio quality isn't really professional and the track could be enhanced with some voise and synthesizer samples, but it's a live recording just for fun and i won't make a science of it. The beat and sound comes from the Roland MC-909. You're watching a nightdrive in Madeira, from Encumeada via Camara de Lobos via Funchal to Canico."

Parameter Name and Value:
• Name (ex: O2Wav): as displayed on the synth LCD, UI or User Manual
• Value (ex: Saw): as displayed on the synth LCD, UI or User Manual, dynamically changes when you use one of the 4 controls (slider, + button, - button, parameter default value button)
LFO3 'Chopper' / Step Sequencer:
The Chopper (LFO3) is definitely one of the greatest feature of Wave OS 1.902; we have implemented a very cool way to display LFO3 Steps. Like a step sequencer, the Steps are lighten-up when used!"
