Arduino Amen Breakbeat Masher v0.1
YouTube Uploaded by MrMalthusMusic on Feb 11, 2012
"First of all, major credit goes to Per-Olov Jernberg for his fantastic sketch and website, available at:
sketch: http://possan.se/junk/ljudtest1.pde.txt
video and original explanation: http://possan.se/2009/10/01/arduino-breakbeat-sampler-2/
I will try to answer any questions you have so you can build your own little breakbeat sampler.
Plans for version v0.2 include:
- fixing the glitcher button
- multiple glitch divisions, ie: 1/64th, 1/32nd, 1/16th etc...
- 8 (or more) sample playback points
- multiple drum breaks (apache, rocksteady, tighten-up, doggone are current candidates)
Apologies for the dodgy performance, the buttons are not ergonomically laid out at the moment :)
Thanks for tuning in!"

Tab Books is the publisher. The author is Alan Douglas. You can find a pic of the cover in this post.
"Here is a very interesting early synthesizer/electronic music book - hardback - from 1974 called Electronic Music Production by Tab Books. It is 145 pages of interesting history and facts about synths and other electronic music devices.
Best of all, there are a number of circuits here.
Names like Moog, RCA's early work and the Synthi-100, plus the Oramic Graphic System."

Buchla 200e - "Eardrill Transmissions"
YouTube Uploaded by djangosfire on Feb 11, 2012
"1st patch/improv using/featuring the Eardrill ModuleModule & 077 Pendulum Ratchet.
The MM is loaded with:
1x Slew - (w/ "peakalope" peak detector/pulse generator)
1x D.LFO - dual low frequency oscillators (w/individual external sync and freq control)
1x Source Selector (4x channel, dual ins/outs - both voltage and pulse - stage selectable and external reset)
I used these modules in this patch (along w/ a Buchla 255 Control Voltage Processor - for the "note pitches) as an incredibly powerful (and fun) way to program an analog sequencer - event generator. The main sequence tone comes from the 261e VCO. the background pulsating drone is from a Verbos 258v VCO.
I love the Buchla 200e - and along w/ modules like these from Eardrill and Verbos . . . it really allows for a great classic analog style interface."

4ms - PEG Quadratic Beats
Vimeo by Richard Devine
"Patch using two 4ms Pingable Envelope Generators. This was an experiment to see what rhythmic possibilities are possible using only two PEGs synced to the same LFO clock. This same clock also was controlling one MakeNoise Brains, and two pressure points. The output of the Pressures Points was CV controlling the PEG's divided time divisions making some cool repeating glitchy effects.

Introduction of the Realistic MG-1 Concertmate synthesizer
YouTube Uploaded by skoulaman on Feb 11, 2012
"As the title say, it is a (short) introduction of a great synth. I was suprised, what a fantastic sounding little baby Moog. Because that is what it is. After cleaning I was happy that there were no other problems with it (the most pot's were OK and run smooth).
Pure analog...no battery problems...no memory...a lot of sliders and pots and knobs.
Thanks for visiting

Four Versions of the Upcoming Mattson Sequencer to be Released

1: The revised MMM format 3-wide main sequencer

2: A 2-wide Sequencer expansion module
3: A combined stand-alone unit housed in a walnut case with a power entry
4: A stand-alone version in a 52HP Euro format manufactured and available from Division-6.

Can use any power scheme from +/- 8V to +/- 15V. The only difference is the main gate output level will be 1V less than the supply.
Plugged the power in backward? No problem. The system figures it out and gets what it needs. No dead system, no blown parts.

Rows 1 and 3 can be daisy chained to provide 16-channel sequencing.
A user tap-tempo mode that overrides the internal VC or external Clocks providing both timing and gate-length.
Global and Individual stage 0/+1 octave shift.
Three user-selectable gate length outputs: Short, follow(the clock duty cycle) and long.
Row 1 and/or row 3 quantized/linear output selection (1V/O format)
I/O re-design to allow for easy daisy-chaining of multiple systems.
Run-on-Gate input added to allow for sequencer stage advance only during a gate applied to the input.
Ping-Pong and random modes added to directional options. Switching back to Ping-Pong from Random re-enters at the same point and direction that it left at.

MFB OSC2 Eurorack module
via this auction
via mfberlin.de:
* 3 voltage-controlled analog oscillators
* triangle, saw tooth, square waveforms
* common and individual CV-control
* 2 x pulse width modulation
* internal and external hard-sync
* digital ring-modulation
* MSRP: 199,- Euro
"OSC-02 may look like OSC-01 but is a very different beast inside. Unlike its hybrid brother OSC-01, the OSC-02 uses fully analog technique taken from MFB Synth II model. Three oscillators with all benefits and the typical character of analog construction in a single compact module.
OSC-02 offers a variety of notable functions: Beside a common CV-control voltage for all VCOs, all oscillators can be individually controlled by CV-sources, e.g. by different tracks of a CV-sequencer like Doepfers MAQ-16/3 or the AS Oberkorn. VCO 1 can be synchronized to VCO 3, individually or paired with VCO 2. The same goes for external hard-sync. The additional CV-inputs allow for common and individual modulations.
Three outputs allow for summed and individual audio outputs. A separate outputs carries a digital ring-modulated signal of OSC 1 and 2 (configurable to OSC 1-3 by jumper).
The module has a width of 80 mm (16 TE)."

AM radio from 'Iheart Radio' app on iphone - tonight it was playing some 'coast to coast" stuff. The 291e was bending and twisting this audio - also had the 261e Mod OSC output into AM mod of ch A,B,C of the 291e . . . hence the name: " am am beat freak'"

Kawai K4 - Between Space and Time
YouTube Uploaded by MrRidgebackman on Feb 11, 2012
"To follow on from Voyage into the Unknown [posted here], this piece was performed purely on the Kawai K4 and recorded live (Multi Tracked) into Logic Pro. Using the built in effects of the K4 and then adding further effects and EQ in Logic.
The main sound from the Kawai was programmed by myself using all four of the DCO's and creating an 'almost' analogue sound. The Kawai is quite a powerful synth and features Velocity and Aftertouch. 8 part multitimbral and built in effects. One nice feature of the K4 is you can delay one or all of the DCO's giving you an 'echo effect' in the case of this track, I used that feature to raise the delayed note by 1 octave. Changing the EG on both sets of DCF, DCA creating the sweeping synth - processed in Logic by adding stereo phaser.
The rhythm was recorded live - so it has that 'rustic' or I should say 'Rusty - Very Rusty' feel to it. Again adding EQ and Echo Designer to that track in Logic helps smooth some of the appalling timekeeping on my part. This is a first draft of this piece. I am looking at adding additional Grunt to the bottom end with either the Slim Phatty and or the Voyager XL.
Video footage is of my little studio before the Voyager XL Landed
Hope you enjoy.
Best Regards Andy"
