"The Matzoh Man returns for Passover this year. This time, his rendition of Dayenu is used to drive the KOMA Field Kit via a contact mic. Audio is routed to the Field Kit's enveloper follower to drive the solenoid and sundry objects. In the final segment, we use Matzoh Man's audio and the envelope generator to also drive the Morpheus Z-plane filter from Rossum Electro-Music, with the gate changing the filter with almost every note of the tune.

Korg VOLCA FM + KEYS Ambient Jam/Improv

"Just something simple: Korg Volca FM + Keys - Sync'ed, internal sequencers, EOS2 reverb, a pad sound, and some video clips of the Arizona desert. Enable subtitles for a few notes pertaining to the video.
I had a lot of trouble syncing these two. I don't know why, as I had no problems with the Keys and Monologue together, but I've had various advice on the issue (see my 'Community' tab), all of which seemed to help - lowering the volume of the master unit, making sure you have to best quality cables so that there's no cross-talk between them, foul language... If anyone else wishes to share their Volca-sync'ness experiences feel free to drop a comment below, although I've sold the FM, so I can't try any tips personally, but others might like to hear them.
Recorded into AUM on an iPad, with EOS2 reverb, which you can hear gradually faded out completely towards the end.

"I am not a keyboard player but I have tested it to the best of my abilities. All functions seem to work except for the 'portamento' function and the 'tremelo speed' function. No noticeable change in sound came from adjusting either of those fader(s)/button(s).

All other functions seem to be performing as intended with noticeable changes in sound while adjusting the respective knob(s), fader(s), button(s), etc. Some of the faders and knobs have some static while being adjusted but the sound does not cut in and out. Easily remedied with contact cleaner..."

"Demo of the Moon Modular System-X, a unique 5U analog modular synth + interview with Gert Jalass, Moon Modular's Head of Commercial Operations.

On a trip to Los Angeles I stopped by the Noisebug synth store in Pomona, CA for a tour. During my visit, Gert Jalass from Moon Modular (www.moonmodular.com) happened to drop by the shop. Moon Modular is a boutique analog modular synth company started by the (late) Udo Hanten, Albin Meskes and Gert Jalass.

Gert was kind enough to do a brief interview and demo of the System-X analog modular synthesizer. The System-X is a one-of-a kind, all-in-one 5U modular analog synth created to commemorate Moon Modular's 10th anniversary.

This brief interview with Gert covers a bit about Moon Modular, some of their 5U modular synth modules, and features a deep-dive synth demo of the System-X and its sounds using oscillators, filters, sequencer, quantizer, noise, LFOs and more.

Load Runner -Pulse Synthesizers/ Granular Synthesizer eurorack module with LCD unboxing

New module. The only previous Pulse Synthsizers post was this one on their Eurorack USB DJ module.

"Today another great package falls into our hands straight from Australia.

An exciting moment because it is the eurorack module from Pulse Synthesizers and the newest Load Runner-Granular Synthesizer module.

The Load Runner granular synthesizer allows you to load 16bit WAV files from USB flash drive into the modules internal memory and playback grains from those samples.

The Selected sample is shown graphically on the LCD from which grains are randomly generated between the start and range lines controlled by front panel and CV.

Grain length density and pitch are also controlled via the front panel or CV.

Three pitch modes are selectable via the settings menu. The grain amplitude envelope is selectable from 10 shapes.
Recording of the module output to USB as a mono 16bit WAV file allows it to be reloaded into memory for granular playback.

There is also the ability to skip between samples using CV, i.e. sample up / down"
