Dreamy "Nymphose" evolving pad on the Mask1

video upload by Kodamo

"This pad takes advantage of the Mask1's play modes, combining paraphony and selective portamento which happens only legato notes that are played close together. You can control when the filter sweep restarts by releasing all notes (or keep at least one note active to keep opening it)"

The Dream of Allan Gray

video upload by Richard DeHove

"This is a single DB-01 drone track recorded exactly as you see it with no editing. Nor have any effects, compression, EQ or limiting etc been added in the DAW (other than the sci-fi movie talk samples). The DB-01 is running into the Light pedal on feedback mode. (Thanks to @aopaul for suggesting turning down the dry level which has entirely solved the noise issue into the Rat). From there it goes into the Rat, and then into the Shift Line Astronaut for some modulated stereo reverb.

A very slow LFO on the DB-01 opens the filter enough to better activate the feedback on the Light pedal which gives the periods of relative peace and intensity. The DB-01 is also on random playback with a handful of notes on bar 1 and the other three bars empty. The Astronaut pedal has a very slow modulating octave shift in the reverb and the Light pedal has a very slow shift in which optical sensor pair is active. All these slow modulations deliver the needed variation.

The old video is all from 'Vampyr', a 1932 Danish-German horror movie. That's combined, somewhat oddly perhaps, with audio samples from the 1953 sci-fi classic "It Came From Outer Space". It wasn't hard to find the good bits in that since I first sampled it way back in the day on my old EPS. We even had a song in our live set which used one of the quotes from the movie as it's main hook "Our mission was to another world". Good days. Of course I couldn't re-use that same sample here :D

The title of this video comes from the original full title of the Vampyr movie: 'Vampyr – Der Traum des Allan Gray' or in English, 'The Dream of Allan Gray'.

"Stray Drum" is a macro oscillator firmware based on FM and ring modulation for the Versio platform. This is a beta release, and it contains rough edges; even some parts of the front panel aren't in use yet, such as the audio inputs, the Trig button, and one of the switches.
The pitch input can track V/Oct after calibration. However, a calibration mechanism has not been implemented yet.
Pitch: Spans 5 octaves and can track V/Oct but requires calibration.

Spread: Introduces 2 harmonics to the root. Allows seamless adjustment between different chords and dissonant ratios, ideal for percussive sounds.

Feedback: Applies FM feedback to the operators, introducing harmonics up to noise into the base signal.

Attack: When turned to the left, it adds transitional noise that is pitch-filtered.

Decay: Provides a traditional decay effect.

Mode: Alters the modulation function applied to the base signal. It transitions seamlessly from no modulation to exponential decay to a sine wave. In the sine wave section, it can change the modulator frequency, up to a ratio of 5.

Amount: Governs the primary modulation. In exponential decay mode, moving it to the left produces ascending pitch, while moving it to the right creates a descending pitch. Extreme left and right settings select the longest pitch-shifting times. Now, switch to sine wave mode. When the amount is set to the right, it controls the degree of FM modulation. To the left, it adjusts the level of AM modulation, transitioning into ring modulation where the modulator transforms from a sine wave into a square wave.

How it sounds

With this set of controls you can shape its sound to powerful kick drums, classic snares and hihats. Percussive sounds like congas, claves, metallic objects, bells, electronic claps, etc.
It also works as a chord machine, giving a wide range of deep and obscure chords perfect for dub techno stabs. Especially when selecting a chord, apply FM to it and some reverb/delay effect."

Vintage Classics // Octave Cat

"An in-depth look at the Octave CAT. This one is an absolute classic from 1977. It's the Series Revision Model (SRM), which is the same as the SRMII apart from its additional sync mode and CV connections.

There's also a few minutes of showing the differences between this and the Behringer - everything else is the close enough to make a comparison rather boring!"

This is an amazing, handmade per order, midi programmer for the Yamaha SY77 mega synth. I just got this and used it only about 30 minutes total. It was built for me by Synthark and I paid over $700 for it. Unfortunately, I'm still not really meshing with the process of programming this synth and have a lot of other gear so I'm willing to take a loss and let someone else have it that understands the synth better."

"This is a beautiful box of knobs and sliders. Hand built per order by Synthark and made specifically for the Ensoniq SD1 and VFX synths. This was just made for me and I paid about $700 for it but I have a lot more gear and just don't use this synth as much as a lot of my other stuff. I only used this for maybe 20 minutes total. NO SYNTH comes with this purchase. You get the freshly built programmer and a plug to power it. I can provide all the info that I got from Synthark about this programmer. These are not even listed on their website!!! Made specifically for my studio but.... yeah. One thing to note is Ensoniq synths need to be retriggered to hear changes made."

The Roland System 100 Synthesizer - Semi Generative Patch #modularsynth #synth #ambient #drone #100

video upload by S R DHAIN

"Modular & Semi Modular synths can be set to self-generate all kinds of effects, noises, and music. It can be both challenging and fun to program the synths to do this.

Here , the 104 sequencer is running at a very low clock speed and has a sequence of notes that are consistently chiming in on the 101 keyboard, which itself has the VCF & the VCA being slowly modulated by it's LFO.

The 102 expander has the sample & hold switched on to both pulse out a note trigger & slowly modulate its the VCF. My occasional interjections are to change the key of the sequence on the 101 keyboard & the 102's drone note; the 102's pitch is affected by the CV input from the 101's keyboard."

S&H In S&H trig S&H out

S&H In 8, S&H Trig 9, and S&H Out 10 are a set of sampling and holding circuits. S&H In 8 inputs the signal that needs to be sampled,S&H Trig 9 inputs the Trig signal that samples the input of S&H In 8, and the sampling result is held until the next Trig signal triggers a new sampling, and the result is output at S&H Out 10. When S&H In 8 is not plugged in, the Trig signal of S&H Trig 9 samples the Noise Out of 2, resulting in a nearly random sampling result. The sampling-hold function can be triggered by pressing button 5 when the S&H Trig 9 has no insertion line.

Noise Trig & Noise Out

Noise Trig 1 and Noise Out 2 are part of the Noise generator, which continuously outputs a Noise without any input, which is the result of the sound amplified many times after the breakdown of the Zener tube. If a wire is inserted into the Noise Trig jack, the Zener tube will stop the breakdown state. At this time, give a signal, which can be Trig, square wave or any other signal, only if it is higher than 3.3v, it will again break through the Zener tube, constantly reciprocating, changing the output effect of the Noise Out.

Offset Out

Knob 3 changes the output voltage value of Ofset Out 4, when the button is pressed 5.Ofset Out 4 will output voltage according to the position of the knob, release the button, and the output is terminated.

Aux in & out

Aux In 6 and Aux Out 7 are a set of envelope non-tunable Vcas triggered by button 5. Aux In6 can be an audio input or other signal input, press button 5,Aux In6 input will be output from Aux Out 7 after adding an envelope control. Noise Out2's noise output is added to AuxIn 6 when AuxIn 6 is not plugged in. This means that you can directly control the noise output in Aux Out 7 by pressing button 5."

Gimme Some (Kick) Drum by Blue Lantern Modules || Full Walkthrough and Sound Demo

video upload by Robots Are Red

"GSDrum, or Gimme Some Drum, or Gimme Some Kick Drum is a 10 hp drum synthesizer module. It really shines as a kick module, but can do other drum sounds such as toms or something out of the syncussion, or act as a bass synth tracking it 1v/oct. This is not a typical kick oscillator using the 'Twin T' approach, GSDrum uses a v/oct tracking triangle core VCO with an OTA based VCA. There is CV control for the trigger of course, along with v/oct tracking, Linear FM, and VCA accent inputs. The Timbre knob shapes the oscillator starting at a sine wave, to a triangle wave, all the way to an overdriven square wave. Influenced by the Korg ER-1 drum synthesizer. The accent input can simulate midi velocity or drive your sound even more. "Part of the 'Gimme Some' series. Gimme Some Drum....

What does this module do?

This module is a complete mini synthesizer that specializes in making analog kick drum sounds.

This product does not use a "Twin T" approach to make it's drum kick sound. This is using an actual 1v/octave

triangle core vco, and ota based vca. The shaper circuit that converts a triangle wave into a sine wave was brought to the front panel. The shaper knob was calibrated to start its shaping at the beginning of a sine wave, and end with an overdriven square wave.

This parameter is called 'Timbre'.

This product can produce a wide variety of ultra generic analog kick drum sounds.

Influenced by the Korg ER-1 drum synthesiszer, but laid out in an analog fashion.

-toggle switches are connected to 'timing' capacitors. You can select decay legnths on the fly.

-Depth Knobs let you precisely dial in how much punch, and loudness you want.

-Accent input lets you simulate 'Midi' velocity but with a positive CV input signal. This makes the Amplifier go louder in volume.

This is basically a CV input for the VCA circuit.

-POP parameter creates a clicky sounding, short audible pulse.

All the internal circuitry was optimized for drum kick. You really can't goof up and not make a percussive sound.

All you need is a triggering signal.

Big time savings!"
