"This video is something I've been thinking about making for a while, creating a home for the music I write that sits outside of an album or soundtrack. Instead of aimlessly uploading jams and performances, I'm contextualising them with my thoughts and process more directly.

For this episode, I talk about some of the instruments I've been using to write with including the Erica Synths Dada Noise System 2, Haken Continuum Mini, Expressive-E Osmose and Battery Operated Mini Mello.

"Roland MSQ-700 in excellent cosmetic condition and working as expected. Original lithium battery just replaced with a new 3.6v battery and receptacle put in its place. Rubber stick-on feet that the previous owner had used have been replaced with proper Roland-style rubber feet from Syntaur."

"Prophet X Epic Sample Pack Vol 2. Over 1500 individual samples from custom made D-50, Emulator II, Fairlight and Synclavier sounds.

Layered, processed and made highly usable from the time you've loaded them up in your PX.
To get you started I've also included 40 patches using some of these samples. Bank 3 patches 1-40. This is a sysex file. You don't have to import this sysex file to use the samples, but these patches use some of the new samples to get you started.

If you have my Epic Sample Pack Vol.1 from before this pack of samples will not overwrite any of those in your PX. Samples in Vol.2 are put into u5 (synth), u7 (synth) and u8 (choir) on your PX. (Folders u04, u06 and u07 in the PX file hierarchy)

The pack is about 1.5Gb in size.

The samples and patches I've created are originally meant for MY Prophet X, for my live needs. A way of having all my vintage synths in one keyboard when doing live gigs, doing MY own songs, as faithful as possible to my albums. Now you can have them too.

This pack is also available in the Bitwig format as well as *.sf2 for use in Logic or other compatible platforms. Please specify if that is what you want instead. Price is the same. Wav can be delivered upon request, but will cost slightly more."

PlayFader Ambient Exploration #3, Moog DFAM and Friends

"Another jam with the Play All Day PlayFader exploring more ambient spaces. This time PlayFader is sequencing the @MoogSynthesizers DFAM but each channel is set to do different lengths so that the melodies intertwine. The voices then pass through the @Endorphines Squawk Dirty filter while Rings and the @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Spectraphon add both low end and top end sparkle. The @knobula6211 Pianophonic is triggered via MIDI from PlayFader to provide ambient chords. Lashings of reverb of course and of course!

This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers.

"Product names with deliberate spelling errors are hard to find, especially when they're in a modular eurorack niche. So let me help you discover a VCO that's so BIG it almost eats a full row of HP. Since it's made to be broken, you could also use two rows. I am talking about the V4CO dual wavetable oscillator, which is a large module, and the even bigger GLITHc expander which is designed as a 'circuit bending patch panel'. When you're working with 8-bit wavetables, this is a logical choice.

This exotic combo may be for a glitch-specialized audience due to size, style and price. And yet, it's really easy to evoke music from it as well as noise. It's not a typical 259 dual VCO layout where you'll need to rely on FM. I guess you could see the V4CO combo as a twisted waveform generator with a great overdrive and a hacking panel. It works really well for fat menacing drones, even raw. But it shines with a simple filter like Ripples (FM input).

Liquid Sky sent me these units for review, which for me is like 'is it cool enough to make a video about it'. It definitely is."
