Digitone II Is Here, Let's Discuss...

video upload by EZBOT

"On the table today we have the Digitone II, Digitakt II, and the Elektron Octatrack MK2. The Digitone just recently started getting into people hands, people like myself. I love Elektron music machines and was a huge fan of my Digitone, but ultimately took it away and replaced it with the Syntakt. Today, we reverse that and bring back the Digitone II into the production and live performance rig. Let's discuss it's workflow, new sound engines, and where it sits in your live ecosystem.

A deep dive with the Erica Synths Graphic Resonant Filterbank!

video upload by Tom Churchill

"The Erica Synths Graphic Resonant Filterbank (FB) is a modern take on a cult classic of modular synthesis: the Serge Resonant EQ. The original design dates back to the late 70s, and it’s pretty simple - a bank of 10 manually controlled filter bands that can process sound sources in subtle or extreme ways. It can self-oscillate for complex drones, or you can ping it with pulses to create organic-sounding percussion. For the Graphic Resonant Filterbank, Erica Synths took this basic idea but added a bunch of digital control, bringing it right up to date and massively expanding the range of potential applications.

This video is sponsored by Erica Synths, and in it I build some patches that explore what the Graphic Resonant Filterbank can do, from complex spectral animation to pinging and feedback."

Prophet X sample & patch bank | Korg Poly-61 & Poly-800

video upload by Espen Kraft

"Prophet X add-on pack with Korg Poly-61 and Poly-800 samples and patches.

The price for this add-on is $15USD (or €15Euros if you're in Europe) and I think this is well worth it.
I will only sell these add-ons (more are on the way) directly through email. My CONTACT email address is this: espenkraft69@gmail.com
If you want to purchase this pack please send me an email and I'll give you instructions on how to order.
If you want a bundled (discount) price for multiple packs just let me know.

In the download you will find all the individual patch sysex files as well as the full bank of 51 patches. If you have my first two add-ons (Memorymoog and Matrix-12) I have a patch bank here that will go in right after these two at Bank U2 - Patches 74-124. For your convenience I've also included a transfer to bank A1 - Patches 74-124. I also included all the 51 individual patches. These go to Bank U3 - Patches 78-128

If you want to transfer the patches SOMEWHERE ELSE on your own PX, you can do so manually, by editing the individual sysex files. Here is the link to my video where I show how you can do that. It's quite easy: [see this post]
I've also included a text file with the sample stretch details for every single individual patch.
I can also make a custom sysex file for you if you have a specific bank or patch interval you want to use and you don't feel at easy editing sysex files yourself. This will of course cost extra, but let me know and I'll give you my price for this.

The two folders holding the samples:
px/u13 will go into your Prophet X at u14 /15 Synth/05/Poly-61_MISC
px/u14 will go into your Prophet X at u15 /15 Synth/06/Poly-800_MISC

You can of course change where you will put this folder as well.

Pack also available as Wav files. Price upon request.

The samples and patches I've created are originally meant for MY Prophet X, for my live needs. A way of having all my vintage synths in one keyboard when doing live gigs, doing MY own songs, as faithful as possible to my albums. Now you can have them too."

"Nowdays Ondioline are becoming extremely rare even in France where they were hand-crafted during the 40's to 60's This one is in VERY good condition AND is absolutely a real and magic pleasure to play- Nothing except original Ondes Martenot can provide such a feeling and so organic sounds ! Tuning is perfect (A440 on all 4 octave for each key) This particular model has the great and very efficient improvement : Sub OSC for very loud sub harmonics if needed ! it has been fully serviced from September to December 2023 by very competent technician who spent around 50 hours to do the huge work needed for a very nice AND playable Ondioline (this tech knows the Ondioline as he serviced in the past over 10 units) He has done a very meticulous and respectful work (all electric wires have been changed, new components when necessary, PSU serviced, ground connection, all keyboard connectors cleaned for a good contact, and completely level keyboard...HUGE work !!) the Knee level barrer is a new one, the string (useful for 'Castagnette' , Bongo ...) is the original one and of course efficient. You might know there are differences between Ondiolines due to the technology evolution, hand made craft, components...) so please don't compare with an other one which will sound different Have a look and listen to what this one is capable of (video taken on 3rd April 2024 for Vemia 's Auctions)"

"One of the greatest polysynths ever made, in excellent condition. I’ve owned it for more than 20 years. It plays beautifully and it hurts to let it go. Kent Spong (KSR) has always serviced it for me, and he’s never needed to do much more than tune the filters. This really sharpens up the sound, and it’s booked in with Kent at the auction end so that the next owner will receive it in fantastic playable condition. Serial number 300. With a MIDI input, fitted prior to my ownership, that I have never used. 240V from new. Comes with both lids, original 240V cables, original 4 voice expander cables and original manual."

"PPG Synthesizer 1002 for sale serviced an comes with fligtcase Had this for almost 6 years and serviced by Stefan Hubner who has a deep understanding of PPG systems. Some things to observe, one underside key broken but doesn't affect play..these are originals. Jacks for CV, Gate and filter modulation have been added and adjusted to 1V/oct. 'The mains wiring has been re-done according to current safety expectations (not to say standards) including a 'pig tail' cable with an IEC male plug for easier connection. CV and Gate were never standard on the 1002 so the ones having it were all more or less hacks, especially when it comes to oscillator CV. One would expect 1V/octave with 0 volts at a defined note usually. For the 1002 without my modification this means you set the potentiometer on the back that usually came with CV in to track 1V per octave but then had to add an offset of something around 2 volts to reach the lowest C. My approach disconnects the keyboard instead of adding some external voltage somewhere and simulates exactly what the keyboard delivers starting at 0 volts for the lowest C. The connection is being made by a relay actuated by the contacts in the CV jack. By simulating the keyboard, all panel functions remain active on the external CV (glide, tune, modulation) Trigger/Gate is a voltage input (V-Trig) working from 5V up. The filter input only modulates the filter setting and is not intended to make the filter track, for this purpose you should rather use the panel knob that attaches the cutoff control to the keyboard CV.' No second chance listing on this."

Korg 900 PS

Pics of the inside below.

"This is a rare gem of vintage sound, lovingly restored to bring the 1975 Korg PS-900 back to life. The power supply section has been professionally upgraded with modern components for better performance and reliability, as shown in the latest photos. Apart from this, everything else remains fully original and has been meticulously cleaned. It's in excellent shape, with just a few minor scratches—remarkable for a synth of this age.

There seems to be some confusion about the naming (sometimes called PS900), especially since the face plate says 'Synthesizer Korg Preset.' The 900PS is quite a basic but very interesting monosynth. The 900PS definitely 'borrowed' some ideas from the Pro-Soloist. Instant selection of 29 different tone colors. From the sweet sound of a violin to the chugging of a steam locomotive. Sensitive soft-touch switches and plentiful controls provide a wide variety of effects including vibrato, repeat, even the harmonics you need for a Hammond organ tone.

The PS-900 isn’t just any monosynth. It's a legendary preset synthesizer with 29 pre-programmed sounds that capture the rich, raw character of true analog. While minimal adjustments are possible, you’ll find dedicated sliders for tweaking vibrato, attack, sustain, harmony, and the Traveler Control, which governs the VCF cutoff for classic filter sweeps.

But the real magic lies in the touch bar. This unique feature, positioned at the front of the keyboard, unlocks creative potential like no other. With switches that activate portamento, vibrato, forte, repeat (note retrigger), or pitch (a semitone drop), the touch bar allows you to play with expressive, evolving textures and unexpected twists. It’s a performance feature that truly sets the PS-900 apart.

The 900PS has 29 presets: Timpani, Electric Bass, Synthe Bass, Piano, Harpsichord, Shamisen, Banjo, Mandolin, Xylophone, Tuba, Bassoon, Horn, Cello, Trombone, Saxophone, Voice, Clarinet, Accordion, Trumpet, Funky Trumpet, Synthe Trumpet, Oboe, Violin, Recorder, White Noise, Scale Noise, Harmonics I, Harmonics II, Harmonics III."

Note on back of brace pictured below:

"Because the 102 Expander Unit stands up on end, it sometimes has a tendency to fall over backwards when operating the controls on the front panel.

This can be prevented by attaching the enclosed panel to the bottom of the 102 Unit as shown in the drawing. The portion that sticks out . . under the 101 Unit preventing the 102 Unit from being pushed over."

STEINER-PARKER SYNTHACON MODEL 174 SN 1301 B

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this listing

"The Steiner-Parker Synthacon is a monophonic analog synthesizer that was built between 1975 and 1979 by Steiner-Parker, a Salt Lake City-based synthesizer manufacturer. It was introduced as a competitor to other analog synthesizers, like the Minimoog and ARP Odyssey. The Synthacon includes three voltage-controlled oscillators, a two-pole resonant Sallen Key filter, two ADSR envelope generators, a pink and white noise generator, and a 49-key keyboard. While the Synthacon was not a modular system, signal routing could be achieved through a series of switches."

Buchla/Tiptop 259T | A Legend Revived

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"I don't think this module needs any introduction in Eurorack. Don Buchla inspired countless complex oscillators before it inspired Serge Tcherepnin and digital FM pioneers like John Chowning who brought FM on a chip to Yamaha. The 259 is a landmark VCO. One could assume it would old compared to modern gear like the DPO, Cs-L, Furthrrr, Brenso, Verbos CO and many more, but the 259 has a unique sound you will not find anywhere else.

There's 50 years between the 259c and the Tiptop recreation. A lot has changed. The original featured eight vactrols, but the T has none due to Hazardous Substance Regulations (RoHS). It's fair to say it's impossible to stay faithful. Autotune wasn't finished yet, it relied on the forthcoming 300 series that never took off. Remote/local control relied on Easel programming card tech which is useless in its eurorack incarnation. Tiptop decided to add ART support, a proprietary protocol which supports autotuning VCO's.

Real Buchla 259's are extremely rare, they're mostly faithfully recreated clones. So I had no idea how the real thing sounds and the 1M $ question is obviously 'does it sound the same'. Spoiler alert: it does. This video also concludes my 259 origin story, so it's episode 04 in the 259 playlist, and episode 09 in my Tiptop 200 series playlist. It's a bit confusing but it it makes sense to me.

Bottom line, it's a beauty."
