"Ilian picks up where he left off, turning the WoFi into a live looping station once again.
Direct guitar input, sliced and rendered through the WoFi’s internal tools. He plays with sequences, sound layering, and FX tweaking in real time.
This one’s all about feel, gesture, and reactivity — showing how the WoFi can reshape even the most familiar sounds into something new."
"UNBOXING // IK Multimedia UNO SYNTH PRO X // Part 2 // TWEAKING Presests // No Talking Just arrived here. I could not dive deep into the synth. So I am scatchning only the surfice in this video and my short FIRST IMPRESSIONS of the new kid. Very versatile little machine with paraphonic mode to play triads and program triads in the step sequencer. 2 independet filter. 1 OTA HP/LP, 1 SSM style, parallel or in series. Now a few shortcomings: DISTORSION is welcome but has to be that harsh? Also: A programmable DISTORSION is a good feature but without a programmable overall level BEHIND the DISTORSION it makes the synth almost unsuitable for a live performance as for huge unsustainable loudness gaps between different patches. DELAY and REVERB are only average and far away industry standard. Flexible MODULATION ROUTING but it is quite a mess to readjust levels as there are for instance no dedicated attenuaters for LFO mod levels for the VCF. I understand that there is not much space on the panel 1. But LFO WAVE knob could get a 2nd shift function. Main job: LFO amount, shift-job: wave.... AND it does not feature a power switch. That's really bad when you hooked directly on your computer via USB-C. Every time when you'redone you must tear the plug or the UNO sucks your computer batterie empty. This could be solved. By a hint of a user. Pressing the hold button for a second or two switches the unit off. So at least an OFF SWITCH! The tune knob for the oscillators is multirange: The first 10 minutes plus and minus it increses and decreases in CT steps and in half tones. So you cannot detune the oscillators when shifted in the halftone range. The pots controlling plus and minus CVs could better feature a DENTED CENTER POSITION. For the TUNE knob it is not a big problem as it first advances in cents but adjustment FILTER ENV amount is sometimes very delicate and a quick cancelling of the ENV is not possible without a dented center position. Units with built in sequencer are often hooked up to computers and other machines as via MIDI or USB as slaves. And here this unit badly need a well functioning AUTO MODE so that it switches to slave automatically when an EXTERNAL CLOCK is detected at the input. Most other gear features this. So these were my fist impressions."
"The Redshift 6 can now run up to 6 parts dividing up the 6 voices and 96 oscillators accordingly. I thought I'd capture this as I'm working on my review of this interesting analogue synth.
Includes real-time programmer. Yes, you can edit the analog filter and more in REALTIME! Makes programming it a breeze. Note: Programmer is USB powered, does not provide any computer USB functions.
Floppy drive has been replaced with a USB floppy emulator from Sampler Zone so it's set up correctly and has the larger face plate that fills the entire opening. Includes entire Syntaur sample library, SoundProcess OS & Library, and full factory library on the USB drive.
Also includes factory original 50k sample input filter, a must-have if you do your own sampling, it's the key to getting cleaner samples.
Recently serviced with full power supply rebuild and all button tacs replaced along with a new volume slider."
Interesting pic of the unit outside the wood case below. Pics of the inside below as well.
"A vintage 1976 Korg beatbox for the connoisseur. Comes in the original box with 1/4 cord and RCA adaptor cord.
These are perfect for laying down the vibe without taking up the whole studio. Looks good wherever it sits and sounds great. I opened it up, hit all the pots and switches and it is ready to go!
10 preset rhythms on two paths, Ballad, Cha Cha, Latin Beat, Rock 1, Polka, Waltz, Mambo, Bossa Nova, Rock 2, Fox Trot. You can push more than one for freaky beats. It has volume and tempo control as well. These were used by Roxy Music and others. A rare piece."
"THIS is the version for full integration into modular systems: extensive patchbay allows CV/gate control as well as output of a wide array of the SEM's controls. No MIDI! Features additional patch points not available in the SEM pro version."
"The Computone Lyricon Wind Synthesizer-Driver, owned by Grammy winner Paul McCandless, is a wind synthesizer-driver that offers a unique sound experience. With its analog capabilities and high-quality craftsmanship, this synthesizer is perfect for musicians and audio professionals looking to add a distinctive and professional touch to their music. Made in the United States, the Computone Lyricon Wind Synthesizer-Driver is a reliable and versatile tool for creating captivating sounds and music compositions.
This unit is EXTREMELY RARE!! I acquired this from Paul McCandless himself some 25 years ago and it has been in storage ever since. Paul is a 6 time nominee and 3 time Grammy winning wind player.
Comes with case, power cord and accessory cord. A reprinted owner's manual is also included. The serial number on this incredible instrument is #323.
The build quality of Lyricon instruments is un-matched by any other modern or vintage wind instruments. Utilizing a mat chrome plated brass housing (not plastic) and spring loaded key pivots on metal keys with mother of pearl inserts, the action is similar to acoustic wind instruments. This type of action is familiar to and preferred by many musicians. The Wind Driver is strictly an analog instrument. There is no MIDI on board, though the analog voltages can be used to drive a CV to MIDI converter (not included) if desired.
The Lyricon Wind Synthesizer outputs analog control voltages that must be patched to a separate synthesizer (not included) It will not produce sound on its own. Numerous 1/4” jacks are provided that output control voltages for Pitch, Wind (volume), Gates and Pitch Bend. These outputs can be connected to your synthesizer’s VCO, VCA, Gates and VCF inputs, though only a VCO and VCA are required to produce sound. If you prefer an instrument that has on-board sound generating capabilities, the Lyricon 1 or Lyricon II would be more appropriate."
