THONK - Circuit Abbey 'Tick' Module - 3hp Clock Module

THONK - Circuit Abbey 'Tick' Module - 3hp Clock Module from thonk on Vimeo.

"This video features the new Circuit Abbey 'Tick' DIY module.

It's a very straightforward 3hp analog clock module, with three speed ranges and slider to control the frequency within that range.

In this video the clock is controlling a Music Thing Modular Turing Machine.

This kit will be available to purchase from Thonk on Friday 13th 2015."

Introducing TWIGGY by Circuit Abbey

Published on Feb 10, 2015 Brother Theo

"TWIGGY is our new 2HP Dual Ring Mod. This Eurorack module uses AD633s to provide two clean and mathematically accurate 4-quadrant multipliers. These multipliers are DC coupled so they can process CV as well as audio. Since they are 4-quadrant multipliers they can be used as VCAs as well as CV-able attenuverters. Their anorexic size means they take up very little room in your rack.

This 2HP module has a maximum 20mA current draw (10mA +12V / 10mA -12V). Module depth is 49mm.

Special power cables to attach adjacent modules will be available. This will ensure you don't fill all your power connectors with 2HP cables.

AXIS Guitar Input Module by Circuit Abbey

Published on Aug 4, 2014 Brother Theo

"AXIS is our new 4HP guitar input module for the Eurorack modular synthesizer format which has a maximum 20mA current draw and a depth of 49mm. Featuring a 1/4" TS input, +/-15dB 3 band EQ, Volume knob, a 3.5mm modular level output, and an overload LED on the front panel. Set with a jumper on the main board, there are 2 gain settings for passive guitars and 1 setting for active guitars.

While the Axis clips nicely, we shot for transparency in hope that most people would want to process their guitar as they see fit with little distortion involved. We're happy to release what we think is a great solution for bringing guitars into the modular world.

AXIS is now available for purchase! Ask your local modular dealer to carry them if they're not in stock, or visit any of our current dealers: http://circuitabbey.com/WhereToBuy.html

Mogees+Phonogene+Octatrack | Ultraviolet Cloud Formations

Published on Dec 10, 2014 A Box In The Sea

"I'm really loving the Mogees (http://mogees.co.uk) and I'm constantly looking around my house and studio for simple ways to grab some unique sounds. I love water, and found a few vessels to began experimenting. The screws ended up being the perfect hit on the water and the bottle. Then I used a magnet to move the screws around inside the plastic bottle. The tin container was stunning to play with and pouring the water sounded the most resonate with rich harmonics (this is the one I sampled into the Phonogene).

I used 2 samples in the Octatrack with 3 variations of each sample being faded between. The Midi tracks on the Octa are being used to send CC's to the Expert Sleepers ES-40 and then distributed throughout the modules. Timing is from the Analog 4 via the Grayscale Synapse.

Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for watching!

Synthrotek 308 Eurorack Distortion Module

via Synthrotek

"We’ve taken our rock-solid RAT clone, squeezed it into a Eurorack module and added CV control over Gain. The 308 will take your playing to new heights with tremolo and other distortion modulation techniques.
Features:
3 controls – Tone, Filter, and Drive – to customize your tone. Tone sets the brightness level, Filter dials in the high frequency response, and Drive determines the signal gain / amount of distortion
4 Diode Settings – An on-board 4PST DIP Switch selects between 4 different clipping diodes to drastically alter your sound. Turn on the stock version 1N4148s, LEDs, Germanium diodes, or none at all with flick of a little switch.
Vintage Tone – The PCB is designed from the original RAT tone IC, the LM308 single op amp.
Control Voltage (CV) Input
Guitar AND Modular – Adjust the input impedance with a trim pot.
Plug your guitar in using Circuit Abbey’s Axis module.
4hp
Current Draw: <10 mA on only the +12 rail."

Frame No. 02 from Trevor Gavilan on Vimeo.

"The Audio is a Single Take, I performed it twice doing it almost exactly the same in order to get the video right.
Patch:
High Melody:
4ms PEG 1 and 2 to Rene X/Y, Rene QCV to Modcan Triple VCO 1V/Oct, VCO to SY04, SY04 Freq. controlled by Maths and outputting into WMS µHC.
Low Melody:
DPO SAW and Final plus Piston Honda controlled by Pressure Points, Oscillators into Doepfer A138, A138 to WMD µHC.
Circuit Abbey ADSRjr on cycle mode and modulated by the Wogglebug controlling the Freq. of the µHC, µHC outputting into Pittsburgh Analogue Delay, Delay to Dual Index and finally into Outs.
Hope you guys enjoy it.

Peek At Peaks

Published on Jun 19, 2014 John L Rice·281 videos

"I was up late and ready for bed and thought 'HEY! I'm gonna do a quick 3 minute demo of the Mutable Instruments PEAKS module!' which of course turned quickly into 30 minutes of setup time and then 30 minutes of unfocused 'wiggling' that I tried to edit down but I was too tired to actually finish properly so, what you see will have to be good enough for now! ;-)

Besides the Peaks module I used the clock from the Synth Tech E102 into the Circuit Abbey G8, Circuit Abbey Unify, Happy Nerding FM AID and Synthrotek power supply."

Synthrotek EKO 2 - Wavefoldisher

Published on Nov 12, 2013 noisythang·25 videos

"Using a short echo to mangle some waves prior to the filter. The rig is a bit poppy and scratchy, sorry. Using Synthrotek EKO, TipTop VCO, Circuit Abbey Intermix/4ms QPLFO for the modulations.."

First part here.

Synthrotek EKO Demo

Published on Nov 11, 2013 PatchingMonk·1 video

"Demo of the Synthrotek EKO, a CVable echo effect. Please note that this is a prototype module, and the feedback and mix knobs are backwards. They are corrected on the final release.

The basics of the patch:

Audio source is from the Livewire Electronics Audio Frequency Generator's Animated Pulses and Pulse Out sections -into- 2 inputs on Intellijel's uVCA (cv modulated by 2 Circuit Abbey ADSRjrs) -into- 2 Synthrotek EKOs (rate cv modulated by Livewire Electronics Chaos Computer) -into- 2 inputs panned Left & Right on the Circuit Abbey Unify.

You're hearing 1 EKO module in each ear, played with one note only so that you can hear the intensity of the rate cv being modulated by the Chaos Computer. From spacey echos, bell tones, to rhythmic percussive pulses, this module makes some seriously intense sounds."
