Exploring the Endorphin.es GHOST Pedal

"The Endorphin.es Ghost Pedal is a multi-effects distortion + filter + delay + reverb pedal with flexible routing and powerful modulation options. This video explores a part of the sonic landscape made possible by this pedal, with text overlays explaining the knob-twisting as I go along.

The Norand Mono plays a simple 8-note sequence, starting with a triangle oscillator, and then moving to richer timbres later on

The MS-70CDR is only provides a simple slow-moving AutoPan Delay, with depth set to maximum, so the delay volume is in effect modulated by a slow-moving LFO, like the echoes are circling around you and disappear when they're at your back.

The Golden Master Pedal is set up with the multiband compressor enabled on the low and mid bands. The Mid/Side-processor widens the stereo image for the upper and mid bands, and puts the lower (bass) band more towards center.

No effects were used on the Bluebox. It is only used for mixing/routing and for recording.

The audio is recorded to SD card on a Bluebox mixer/recorder and normalized in Audacity. Video is recorded on a Canon EOS M50 mk2 with the included EF-M 15-45mm lens. Audio and video is synchronized in DaVinci Resolve 18 (free version).

Terraforming | Extending Soma Lab's Terra with midi

"When I started this journey I was looking forward to use the Terra MPE mode as a fancy controller. I made a video, and deleted it later because it didn't meet my expectations compared to dedicated controllers like the Linnstrument and the Seaboard. The old video ended with a lot of speculation and a nice patch with Terra and a modular setup. It wasn't any good. But I could not let it rest either.

It did not use the knob/sensor mappings and I did not check how it would behave as a controller for an MPE PC/VST setup. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't spectacular. Terra uses fixed Midi CC messages, and my VST did not support midi learn. It was another dead end. Yesterday I decided to make a CC mapping for the Endorphin_es Shuttle Control and tried a full modular MIDI to CV route, mapping all Terra's knobs and the ABCD sensors. This turned out to work really well. This video is not intended as a 'how to do it', because I am still working on it. It also requires the right eurorack modules and there are just too many converters/options.

It's been a connectivity nightmare that took way too much time and energy. But now my Shuttle has a preset mapping and I can now start experimenting and exploring. I really enjoyed the music and sounds that emerged along the ride. The footage I used is from Iceland."

"We spoke to Ivan from Endorphin.es about their Ghost and Golden Master pedals at Superbooth 2023. The Ghost pedal is inspired by the Ghost module designed in collaboration with Andrew Huang, and offers six routing options, three filters, three reverbs, and onboard modulation with various shapes including smooth, random, and envelope followers. The pedal also includes MIDI connectivity and nine different presets that can be controlled with MIDI CC values. Users can achieve different effects by changing the routing options and modulation, which can be easily done by pressing the mode assign button and tweaking the knob.

The Golden Master pedal, is a compressor that can be used to adjust the Q value or compress the signal. It also includes a multiband compressor and a stereo widening tool. Users can adjust the equalization settings, compressors, and presets, and mute or boost the low, mid, and high bands.

Both pedals available Autumn 2023.

"Andreas from Endorphine.es introduced us to two new pedals - the Golden Master and the Ghost . Ghost is a pedal that's developed from their original Eurorack module. It's a multi-dimensional effect processor designed for guitars and synthesizers. With three footswitches and nine presets. The pedal has primary and secondary values each with its own settings that are shown on a second page with different colour LEDs. Modulation can be assigned to any parameter, including the distortion or the filter, enabling multiple modulations. The pedal has full MIDI I/O, with every knob having a CC value and the delay able to receive or send MIDI clock.

The Golden Master has a multiband processor with compressor, EQ and mid-side processing with a similar sound to the original Eurorack module. With six routing sequences and a stereo enhancer for each of the three bands, the module has full MIDI I/O, with the delay able to receive or send MIDI clock. With nine presets and the ability to save quickly. The Golden Master is easy to operate, and Ghost was designed with the collaboration of Andrew Huang.
