Koma Komplex sequencer
Koma Komplex sequencer - I like it! video upload by David Morley
"I decided to change my analogue sequencer from a Fenix III to a Koma Komplex. After 11 years with the Fenix, I think it was time to travel new paths.
It's a seriously great sequencer. I'll try and do a series of videos on this. Each showing a sequence with some feature being profiled.

KOMA Elektronik - Dual Discrete VCA - Overview
video upload by KOMA Elektronik
"A short introduction into the functions and interface of the KOMA Elektronik Dual Discrete VCA.
The Dual Discrete VCA offers two independent high-quality VCA channels, both built up out of discrete transistor cells with low CV and audio bleed, very low noise and distortion. It features two audio inputs per channel and can be used as a four input mixer.
The VCA’s feature set also enables you to experiment with the linear/exponential response curve of the cores, changing the dynamics of your sound.
Additionally, all four inputs offer a soft-clipping stage, so you can get your crunchy going!"

Modular Gang Becomes a Module
Press Release follows:
Modular Gang teams up with KOMA Elektronik to bring you a limited edition Dual Discrete VCA module. Modular Gang Founder Rachel Lyn was inspired by the aesthetics of vintage appliances and early electronic test equipment like the old control room tucked away in Berlin's Kraftwerk building. There is something nostalgic, electric and timeless about analog circuit design and murky pea mint. Big dials, old control room feel and lines to function played a major part in Rachel's inspiration.
For the final touch, Rachel adds a flower LED which will be an individual colour for each module. The flower represents her connection to nature and is a porthole to influence your music making. The flower does not only capture this concept but also that of Flower Power. The belief that war is wrong and that people should love and care for one another. A symbol to promote peace and love as a means of changing the world.

"This is hands down the most versatile, feature rich and deep sequencer one could ever dream of. Always complex, never complicated. The FULLY modular structure offers tantalising ways of seamless integration to your workflow and especially to your already existing gear setups. Offering both CV and MIDI (In and Out) the Komplex is truly the machine that bridges the gap between plethora of machines.
This unparalleled feature set of sequencing options will take you to places you’d have never otherwise found. The dynamic set of features allow the user to use the sequencer easily ’as is’ and gain the advantage of the more komplex sequencing options when they so decide. The Komplex can be rack mounted if desired.
The Koma Komplex operates completely without screens and submenus of any kind. This tactile nature of the sequencing beast is what makes working with it deeply enticing time and time again.
This unit is in perfect MINT condition and you are hard pressed to see a single scratch on it (please see pictures). It is sold by the original owner and has always been kept in a well maintained, smoke and pet free studio. The sale comes complete with the original packaging and a personalised note from the Koma manufacturing team. This is a wonderful opportunity for people who have been trying to find the out of production Komplex in sale for a long while. These are obviously well loved by their user-base and usually sell fast.
The feature list and the possible applications are FAR beyond the scope of what I can tell you here. Rarely is the overused saying ‘The sky truly is the limit’ as on point as it is with this particular sequencer. Please check the manuals below for inspirational dive into the machines capabilities."

The Sands of Time | Hallucinogen
video upload by CAMPVS MARTIVS
"Imagine being out in the middle of the desert near the ancient city of UR in Mesopotamia back 5,000 years ago. That's what the theme of this piece is all about. Recorded on 4 tracks using the LA67 Mort's Barge a Electro-Harmonix 45000 and the beautiful echoes of the Meris Polymoon and some reverb."
"A visual study of the Moche Culture of northern Peru. Created in one take using Mort's Barge System by LA67 and a dash of the KOMA Elektronik Field Kit FX. It is a known fact that the Moche culture like many others used hallucinogens to aid in their rituals and religious rites. This is the central theme of this electronic piece."

Patching the Koma Komplex
Martin Doudoroff
"A 20 minute demo building a two voice patch with the Koma Komplex.
Note: the focus drifted on me while I recording—so frustrating!—so it gets a bit soft, but I think it’s probably still watchable."

Cxaxukluth Drone Synth - Demo //01 (drone, ambient, NTS-1, MSG II)
Lowering Skies
"Just to add a bit more of context here. I'm making a Drone synth for iOS and this is its demo. It's a pretty simplistic soundscapes exploration tool primarily targeted to live sets and recordings. Cxaxukluth consists of two Morphing wavetable oscillators, one sub-oscillator and one additive oscillator to smooth rough edges when you need it. There's also a bit reduction algorithm, a cascade of effects, two LFOs and a number of organic unparalleled logic to mix it all together. That's the main part I'm currently testing and working on.
The video also features Moffenzeef MSG II Synthesizer which I love and my new Korg NTS-1.
It's currently in Round 1 Alpha testing and you can try Cxaxukluth right now via TestFlight.
Follow the link https://testflight.apple.com/join/WfG... from an iPad and have TestFlight installed. I would love to hear what do you think about it!"
Koma Electronic Field Kit for the mixing.
Cxaxukluth (Drone Synth) // tech demo 02 (Tetrax, Field/FX Kit, Moffenzeef MSG II)
"Another tech demo of the upcoming iPad drone synth Cxaxukluth. This time with Ciat-Lonbarde Tetrax and Koma's FX/Field Kits. Exploring sub-octave and more clicky side of Cxaxukluth this time. Two main oscillators are detuned and are using different waveshapes and it creates a rhythm pattern as a result."

Experimental music hardware starter setup on a budget
HAINBACH
"In which I advise on a starter hardware setup for experimental electronic music as I would choose it right now. YMMV, but I think this is an inspiring and limitless setup that can last you through the years. Something you won't have to sell but rather expand on, or use on your travels."

Sheltering in Place with KOMA Field Kit, Crank Sturgeon Pocket Gamelan, Mr. Grassi, and more
Published on Mar 23, 2020 CatSynth TV
"As we shelter in place we have a bit of fun with the KOMA Field Kit driving the Crank Sturgeon Pocket Gamelan (springs, wires, and contact mics). We also use the Mr. Grassi non-deterministic touch plate module to drive a gong via a speaker and contact mic connected to the Field Kit. Audio is sent through the Strymon Magneto and QuBit Prism modules. The solenoid of the Field Kit is controlled by an FM shaped LFO on the After Later Pique module.

Hacking an Arm Prosthesis to Output CV for Thought Controlled Synthesis
Hacking my arm prosthesis to output CV so that it plugs into my synth: Thought-controlled music!
Published on Feb 13, 2020 Bertolt Meyer
"Together with Chrisi from KOMA Elektronik and my husband Daniel, I am in the process of building a device (the 'SynLimb') that attaches to my arm prosthesis instead of the prosthetic hand. The SynLimb converts the electrode signals that my prosthesis picks up from my residual limb into control voltages (CV) for controlling my modular synthesizer. The SynLimb thus allows me to plug my prosthesis directly into my snythesizer so that I can control its parameters with the signals from my body that normally control the hand. For me, this feels like controlling the synth with my thoughts. I show the prototype(s), explain how we put it together and how it works, and do a little demo.

Patch and Tell - E4 - Onde Magnétique OM-1 Cassette Synthesizer + Drone + Envelope Follower
Published on Jan 21, 2020 The Galaxy Electric
"Thanks for watching! If you are interested in the sound of TAPE you can check out some sound examples of Digital vs. Analog here: https://thegalaxyelectricshop.com/pro...
In this installment of Augustus Green of The Galaxy Electric's Patch and Tell we explore the OM-1 Cassette Synthesizer by Onde Magnétique designed by Scott Campbell out of Louisiana. We are using a prerecorded tape of one of our weekly buchla drone performances. [see here]
I am using the OM-1 for pitch and gate cv control that is being generated from Koma Elektronik's Field Kit's Envelope Follower. The Envelope Follower is a circuit that generates a control voltage envelope from an incoming audio signal. In this case the audio signal is a digital drum loop that was prerecorded onto the cassette using my tape-ify (https://thegalaxyelectricshop.com/pro...) process and played by a Tascam Porta02 mkII. The tape stock used was my low grade Type II CrO2 formula. The pitch and gate of the cv controllable cassette player are informed by the dynamics and feel of the drum loop. I further control the pitch using the buttons on the OM-1 which generate Volt per Octave control voltages that play back the tape at different speeds. The result is a tight groove that allows me to repurpose the drone recording. Lastly, there is a little random cv controlled radio added into the mix for good measure.
