"Desert Songs uses Plantwave - a small device that translates biodata from organic material into MIDI. It's not magic and the plants are not composing, it's simply biofeedback creating true organic 'randomness'. Tiny changes in electrical current - the plants act as variable resistors. Cacti was used for this project due to their very sparse and sporadic activity. The cacti garden includes a few different specimens hooked up to probes, and outputs for individual plants can be changed as you go using patch points upfront. The MIDI signals are sent to a Korg NTS-1 for simple waveshaping and then drenched in atmosphere using the Microcosm from Hologram Electronics. To complete the biolab environment look, a custom MIDI visualizer was made mimicking chloroplasts under microscope."

"In 2022 I had the absolute pleasure of working with Love Hultén @hulten1000 An amazing independent Swedish artist who has specialised in giving his now iconic design to select gear. In our collaboration I chose to combine the MegaFM synth, the Blue Sky reverb and the Keystep 37 keyboard into one absolute dream synth. Here played in one take without any editing whatsoever.

I started Jamuary in January 2017, as a movement to gather us boopy music heads, and to motivate people to get used to the idea of showing their music in front of other people. It quickly grew out of proportions thanks to everybody joining in! Let's continue with the tradition, but don't burn yourself out in the process. Do what you can, what is meaningful to you, or just browse around and get inspired. And don't worry if it's just a little boop. I like boop. Tag your post with #jamuary2023 and join the movement."

CHD-4 - The Drum Machine with Congenital Heart Disease

"CHD–4 is a unique drum machine and a collaboration between Love Hultén, Teenage Engineering and Hjärtebarnsfonden. The device is based on echocardiograms from four children with congenital heart disease, printed from real hospital check-ups. Each ECG has been decoded into patterns based on its individual shape, pace, and BPM. These four heartbeat patterns are transformed into a four-track circular sequencer. Each sequence – or 'heartbeat' – can be played separately or together to produce a wide arrange of sounds. Each heartbeat can also manually be offset in relation to the other(s) in order to explore soundscapes further and create unique rhythm patterns.

CHD–4 was created to raise awareness about Congenital Heart Disease, which is the world's most common birth defect among children.
