GLASYS ft. T-Pain - Brinstar Underground Depths (Down For The Count) // Super Metroid Hip Hop Cover

GLASYS

"I finally collaborated with T-Pain! On a Metroid cover no less.
Download / stream here: https://fanlink.to/glasys_tpain

3 years ago T-Pain commented on a video of mine on Reddit and said he wanted to work together. We spent some time in the studio and went back and forth on a few different ideas, but nothing really happened until I sent him this Super Metroid live cover / remix of mine which he loved and immediately agreed to add vocals to.
This is the "Lower Brinstar" theme from the iconic 1994 Nintendo SNES game. I tracked my part live, playing all the sounds simultaneously. T-Pain then wrote lyrics and added some awesome vocals and harmonies in his signature autotune style.

I decided to release this track together with my other video game covers as well as originals that I performed in YouTube videos. The name of the album is "Off Screen - Video Recordings" and you can find it on most platforms (the Bandcamp version has the most tracks because not all the covers could be licensed for streaming).

You can also get a high quality download of this track if you support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/glasys

Hope you enjoy!

Zelda II - Palace Theme Cover on Synths (The Adventure of Link)

Published on Apr 29, 2020 GLASYS

"I recently played the NES Legend of Zelda games for the first time (they were the only ones in the series that I hadn't beaten) and I really loved the Palace/Temple theme in Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link. There's something really dark and mysterious about it that made me want to keep playing (and inevitably dying over and over).
Here's my live arrangement of the tune, and like in most of my arrangements, all sounds are performed simultaneously.

Gear used: Sequential Prophet XL and Pro 3, Studio Electronics Boomstar 4075, Arcadia controller (custom built for me by Matt Moldover), Native Instruments Battery 4."

Mixtape Alpha and Moldover Four Track [Episode 80]

Published on Jul 30, 2018 CatSynth TV

"For our 80th episode, we demo the Mixtape Alpha and Moldover Four Track, two tiny cassette-shaped synthesizers.

'The Mixtape Alpha has a stylophone style input for continuous tone generation, and six buttons for discrete notes. With four voices, four effects, and five-note polyphony there is quite a range of expression. You can even loop a pattern and play a second part on top. But, the best part is, you can record the songs you make, and trade mixtapes with your friends! And it comes in its own cassette case, with instructions.'

MOLDOVER's Four Track on KickStarter

via Kickstarter

"What's going on here!?!

Hi! My name is Moldover and I am ultra excited to announce the recording of my new album "Four Track"! It's inspired by a tape of songs I made when I was a kid. Back then, my music was simple and unpolished, but it came straight from the heart onto that tape. Now I'm bringing that soulful sincerity back into my music, and expanding it with new instruments, new sounds, and a whole new performance style. If you haven't already, please watch the video above to get the big picture!

What is that cassette-looking thing?

This album is my life's greatest work and I want it to be enjoyed by as many people as possible, but I can't release my new music as just a simple download. I needed to create something really special. For my last album I pioneered the idea of "instrument as packaging" with my Light Theremin CDs. I had a ton of fun making them and I learned so much that I decided to re-invent the idea for Four Track. The result is a cassette-sized instrument I call The Voice Crusher. Watch my Kickstarter video for a demonstration of how it works, and check out the rewards to your right if you think you might want one. Keep reading below for the full details of its design and production..."

Moldover's Jamboxes

YouTube Published on Jul 7, 2012 by moldover

"Born from the union of a passion for controllerism, and the love of community-collaboration, Moldover's jamboxes are some of the most radical and innovative instruments he's ever created. The OctaMasher, The SyncoMasher, and The MiniMasher are completely unique designs; each explores a different realm within the multi-player universe. Like jukeboxes in the 1950s and boomboxes in the 1980s, jamboxes are now playing a crucial role in the new explosion of social music and culture."

Battling Seizure Robots

Battling Seizure Robots from Richard Lainhart on Vimeo.

"The HD version of a jam with Moldover at Tranzducer .011 in Brooklyn, NY, on November 30, 2007. I play my Buchla 200e/Haken Continuum system, while Moldover works out on his controllerism rig. This is a completely spontaneous, unrehearsed, undiscussed improvisation, and the first time we've ever played together; while it's camera-audio only and so not the best quality, I think it's worth checking out. The complementary video improvisation was provided by Bert Baldwin.

("Battling Seizure Robots" is the name of one of the video animations I created for this performance, which, perhaps fortunately, you don't see in this clip.)"
