New Vermona fourMative CONTOURS Eurorack Module

"In the end, there is just one big topic when it comes to modular systems: MODULATION. Modulation brightens up the static boredom, arouses interest and is in most cases the foundation for living soundscapes and rhythmicity. Beside LFOs, envelope generators are the most relevant modulation sources in the world of modular. We already offer a very talented LFO module, the fourMULATOR and now it gets the perfect envelope-generator-counterpart: fourMative CONTOURS.

Structure
fourMative CONTOURS hast four individual channels, we decided to call them units. Each of these units can work as attack-, decay- or hold-phase, the first two with a linear or exponential response. Units can be used individually or in any combination. With these features alone, fourMative CONTOURS is a strong base for many many different modulation tasks.

Thrill of Speed
Each unit can run within a time range from half a millisecond up to 30 seconds. To ensure sensitive adjustments you can choose between SLOW and FAST speed range setting, the latter specialized for crisp and percussive sound applications.

However, that’s only half the truth. fourMative CONTOURS’ units are equipped with CV inputs, not only allowing to modulate the times but also extends them in both directions. If you have the task for a two-hour-envelope, fourMative CONTOURS can deliver it.

Good Vibrations
With simple internal patching, you can loop individual or combined units. Thanks to its high rates fourMative CONTOURS can not only work as LFO but also as audio-source.

fourMative CONTOURS goes far beyond the capabilities of standard envelope generators. If you are looking for a versatile modulation source, give it a try. We are entirely sure that there are more situations where fourMative CONTOURS fills the blanks than you can imagine now."

WMD VOLT - Precision Voltage Source and Offset Generator

Published on Oct 25, 2018 WMDevices

"The WMD VOLT was originally designed as a testing and calibration tool for our quality control team as 1V/ Oct calibration requires a precision voltage source to ensure intonation across many octaves.

Need to calibrate an analog synth's oscillator, filter tracking, or anything else that requires a healthy 1V/octave signal? Try VOLT!

VOLT features a 14V range, dedicated buttons as well as gate inputs for up and down control. Use the gate inputs to turn VOLT into a simple octave sequencer. Add in front of your oscillator in the pitch CV path to add an octave switch to any oscillator.

Run up to 3 CVs through VOLT and offset the CV 1V at a time. All three ins and outs are controlled by the same offset.

Volt is a 4hp eurorack module for use with modular synthesizers, hardware synths, and more. VOLT requires a eurorack case and power supply."

And the official product description:

"The VOLT is a precision voltage source and offset generator for eurorack modular synthesizers.

With it’s 14V range (-7V to +7V), VOLT can be used to calibrate oscillators, filter tracking, or anything that needs a 1V/Oct calibration.

VOLT has two buttons. Push the top to increase the voltage by one volt. Push the bottom button to decrease the voltage by one volt. Push both buttons at once to reset the voltage back to a known value.

VOLT has 3 voltage inputs and 3 voltage outputs. The input signal is summed with the voltage source, generating offsets of 1V or 1 octave at a time. This means it can be used as a precision octave switch for oscillators that lack the functionality. Create variation in your sequences with a quick touch of a button.

VOLT’s octave buttons can also be switched via external gates, essentially making it an octave sequencer. One input causes it to go up, and the other causes it to go down. Two gates at once will reset the voltage back to your set value. Running basslines and melodies through volt to be sequenced up and down by octaves is a very effective and a fun way to work.

Features:

VOLT is extremely precise. An offset error of +-1mV and a gain error of 0.033% make VOLT the perfect tool for calibration.
14V range
3 in / 3 out precision adding
Gate inputs for sequence octaves with external CV
User set-able reset point for more control"

New Shakmat SumDif Eurorack Module

Shakmat SumDif — Demo Published on Oct 25, 2018 Shakmat Modular

"A quick tour of the Shakmat SumDif 2hp module."

"SumDif is a dual adder/differentiator module capable of handling both CV and audio signals. If you send a 3V signal at the A input and a 1V signal at the B input, then the A+B will output 4V while A-B will output 2V. Numerous applications, like unity mixing, buffering and inverting, can be achieved; you can also experiment with Mid/Side audio processing ! The SumDif has a precision signal path and can process V/oct signals perfectly. The two jumpers on the back side allow to reduce the A+B and A-B outputs gain by 6dB.

Features

• Dual 2 inputs adder/differentiator for CV or audio (For example if the first input is 3v and the second output is 1v, sum output provides 4v and dif output 2v)

• Each section can be used as as a 2:1 unity mixer, a 1:2 buffered multiple or a signal inverter.

• Mid Side processing application

• Optional -6dB gain for the first section

• 15 mA +12V / 15 mA -12v

• Skiff friendly (29mm deep)

• 2 HP Wide"

ST Modular - Filtering Werner

Published on Oct 24, 2018 Stefan Tretau

"Werner is a modification of Olivier Gillet´s Ripples filter. Actually its a Franz´d Ripples if you like, as it got a mixer and an internal LFO. Just like his big brother. It is not as buttery as Franz, but still one of the best filter around.

It has all the functionality of the original Ripples module, but also provides a transistor based 3-channel mixer and an LFO with Triangle, Square and inverted Triangle outs, that are normalled to CUTOFF and Q. This connection is interrupted as soon as external CV is plugged into the corresponding CV inputs.

There is also an LFO RESET input in order to restart the LFO cycle. This way you can synchronize the CUTOFF movements to a rhythmical pattern.

G-Storm Electro SH2-VCF EURORACK PROTOTYPE AND STUDIO UPDATE AUDIO+TALKING

Published on Oct 23, 2018 gstormelectro

"Audio and Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2018

Today I wanted to make sure to update you what's been happening around the studio and my SH2-VCF prototype module. Been busy organizing a big garage sale, re-organizing the studio, hanging synth shelves, trying to source a 4-foot wood table, and working for about 2 months on my SH-2 filter prototype.

This SH-2 filter came about as I had a few BA6110 chips laying around and wanted to do something with them. First I built the filter on a breadboard and it wasn't working. Turns out 1/2 my new old stock chips were not doing their job for some reason. No biggie, I designed/ordered some pcb/panels and some more BA6110 chips from ebay.

As luck would have it these chips would be the bane of my existence. I ordered some more BA6110 from activeparts and none of those worked. I also adapted my board to accept the different pinouts for some BA662 Open Labs clones...those caught fire. On the forums these clones are highly admired and used in X0XB0X apparently. It's all good, I just wasn't able to get them to work in this circuit.

So until I get this BA6110/662 issue figured out I won't be able to build any more modules to sell. Time to move on to some other projects and, forbid, make any music :)

Be warned - some harsh resonance acid house squealing ahead!

New ACL - VC Dual Amp Eurorack Module

"High quality dual linear VCA with mixing function.

Audiophile Circuits League VC Dual Amp contains two fully discrete voltage controllable
amplifiers with linear characteristic. It is based on a new circuit design which delivers unheard
clarity of sound. To this day there is no other VCA using this special technique!

The module offers a very low harmonic distortion in the whole linear gain range, no crossover-
distortion and no overshoots nor ringing. Furthermore it has a very high dynamic range which

provides a lot of headroom. The VCAs will amplify the input signal very accurately and it will
sound crystal clear, without any coloration, distortion or bleed.

Each channel has a Gain potentiometer for manually setting the VCA's initial gain and a control
voltage input which is equipped with an attenuverter for scaling the modulation.

Thanks to normalized signal and CV inputs, both VCAs can be used in conjunction. - Great for
processing stereo material. Furthermore, you can create voltage controlled panning effects and
crossfades in next to no time.

Beside the two individual audio outputs from each VCA, there is a Sum-output which provides the
mix of the output of both VCAs and of the signal coming from the Aux-input. This additional input
has no level control and is mixed at unity gain. Thus three different signals can be mixed together.
The amplifiers are also suitable for processing control voltages thanks to a completely DC-coupled
signal path.

Behind its simple appearance, this module shines with its functionality and sound quality!
10 TE
VÖ: early 2019!
Price: to be announced!"
