New Sponsor Shout Out! - Percussa

Please welcome Percussa, a sponsor of MATRIXSYNTH! You've likely noticed their banner on the right. Percussa created the AudioCubes, a modular gestural audiovisual instrument that consists of smart wireless objects, capable of sensing each other’s location and orientation, as well as measuring distance to each other and your hands and fingers.

The AudioCubes easily integrate with your existing MIDI and OSC compatible hardware and software and can be used for Live Performance, Music Composition, Sound Design and Interactive Installations.

The AudioCubes went through some big changes since Percussa originally introduced them in 2007. Each AudioCube has now its own 2.4GHz wireless radio module which runs a custom protocol, which allows them to form a star network with a data rate of 2MBit/s. The network supports up to 16 wireless objects and an update rate between 8 and 64ms.

Percussa recently updated MIDIBridge to v3.0, adding simultaneous detection and distance sensing up to a few feet and with 10 bit resolution, which is great for patching and simultaneous synthesizer parameter modulation!

The AudioCubes now come with a new design and more advanced materials.

The new version of AudioCubes is called wireless AudioCubes PRO.

To learn more about the Percussa AudioCubes, please visit their website at https://www.percussa.com

New Sponsor Shout Out! - LushProjects

Please welcome LushProjects.com as a new sponsor of MATRIXSYNTH!  You'll find their banner on the right. The LushProjects.com store carries a wonderful range of original synthesizer kits as well as kits from other independent designers. LushProjects is based in Nottingham England, and outside the site has information on a cornucopia of creative technology projects including one-off arcade machines and video circuit bending.

For audio enthusiasts, LushProjects has spent the last three years developing the compact and low-cost LushOne modular synthesizer system. The LushOne is an excellent system for people wanting to delve into the modular world and includes extensive documentation and videos demonstrating how to go from generating simple sounds to combining multiple modules in complicated patches to create sophisticated effects.

LushProjects.com also has a range of kits suitable for beginners to electronics construction. They run workshops to introduce DIY electronics to people coming from creative backgrounds in music and the arts.

If you like quirky applications of technology or unusual synth kits then a visit to the LushProjects site is heartily recommended.

New Sponsor Shout Out! - manmademadman

YouTube Uploaded by TheManmademadman on Mar 6, 2012

http://manmademadman.com/

You'll find the banner on the right under the Artists section.

"mm:mm is what happens when you try to silence a massive collection of synthesizers; they soak through your skin and work themselves onto your airwaves.
they saturate--- even supersaturate-- your thoughts and may begin to take over.
similarly, manmademadman seeps into you and will eventually control you. this is expected behaviour.
matrixsynth, you control manmademadman."

video description:
"this is the first video for the mm:mm single "touch"

lyrics:
please digitally alter me
please radically misquote me
And id thank you to force me
in a box most pleasing to you

digitize me, finalize me, normalize me,
to no end
recompress me, undermine me, redefine me,
once again

im just feeling for a touch
im just doing it again
am i asking for too much?
getting underneath your skin?
//////////////////////////////////////////////////
come along you suits and ties
here is where the bodies lay (lie)
cover up your suits and ties
here is where the bodies lay (lie)"

Sponsor Shout Out

I just wanted to give a shout out and a HUGE thank you to the direct sponsors of the site. You can find their banners on the right of the site under the Manufacturers, Dealers and new Artists sections. For those new to MATRIXSYNTH, every single post you see here goes up by hand. There is zero automation on the site. Everything you see is hand picked, hand processed and hand posted. At a current average of ~50 posts a day, this takes a ton of time and work (hours a day, seven days a week). Not a single day off since 2005 with the exception of one day at the start of the blog when I had no idea what I was getting into. :)

With that, every bit of support is extremely appreciated, and the banners you see on the right of the site are the banners of those that believe in the site enough to support it. Please support them in return.

Moving forward, all new sponsors will be announced in a new post as a show of gratitude and an opportunity to call out all sponsors of the site.

That said, this month we have two new sponsors, WilliamK (our first artist sponsor), and Australia's EquinoxOZ specializing in eurorack and esoteric audio devices. Novamusik is also back. Please take the time to check them out. And of course be sure to check out others on the right as well.

BTW, an easy, free way to support the site is to simply spread the word. If you see a post you like, share it with others via your Internet presence whatever that may be - Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud etc. Every little bit helps the site.
