Use Audio Plugiator Tabletop Desktop Synthesizer with Original Box

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction

"This auction is for a Use Audio Plugiator. For those of you who do not know what this is, basically you have 8 different synthesizers in one box. Each one of those synths has 100 presets built in. Each one of those presets can be changed using the plugiator software. New sopunds can be downloaded from the plugiator mcommunity forum and installed instead of the the standard presets. Basically you can have every sound you have ever loved from classic analogue synths in one small box. It is made of metal / steel and built to last.

Installed on the plugiator are all 8 plug ins. These are all activated and all work fine. The four extra plug ins (Prodyssey, Pro-12, Fmagia and Drums 'n 'Bass) were all purchased at approx £39 each. The activation keys for all the plugins are written into the section at the back of the manual. If you ever have to reinstall them, the activation keys are all there. The Plugiator is registered to me as are the plug ins, but I will provide you with my log on details to the server so you can change the details to you and download new sounds etc.

Here is a quick description of each DSP plugin. Remember, each one of these has 100 presets installed! And also remember the Plugiator is not a static synthesizer. It loads plugins and so can be changed at any time to different sounds.

Merry Synthmas!!!

Hi everyone!  I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a Festivus for the restofyas!  Thank you for all your support and well wishes.

Every year I like to put up one post on Christmas day. This year I decided to feature my newly acquired Atomo Synth KRAKKEN keyboard.  Look at that thing.  It turns out it's the perfect gift-sized synth! Not only does it look good, but it's one cool sounding synth.

Click on each pic for the supersized shot.

I'll see you all tomorrow. Until then enjoy some time with your friends and family, and of course here on MATRIXSYNTH. :) Directly below you'll find my exclusive interview with Alessandro Cortini and be sure to see the holiday label for more synthy contributions this year.

Happy holidays folks!

Update: I'm going to start a new tradition this year. I'll be adding holiday content to this post as stuff comes in. I forget everyone just sits around the house all day, so I might as well do something. Check back often for updates. New stuff will be added to the bottom of post as it comes in.

The lovely metallic red aluminum case contains a 61 note keyboard, pitch and mod wheels, ribbon controller, motorized sliders, lots of knobs, switches and pads, a numeric keypad, sequencer transport control buttons, "U-Control" for plugin compatibility with computer software and more plus there is additionally an installed ASX Plugiator synthesizer card by Use Audio.

The ASX Plugiator contains modeled instruments by CreamWare, including B-4000 (a Hammond B3 based model), Minimax (a Minimoog model), Pro-12 (a Prophet 5 model), Vocodizer (a vocodor) and more!

The 9 sliders can act as drawbars for the installed B-400 soft synth or any other parameter or control in all the Plugiator soft synths, as well as your external modules or computer. The sliders are motorized so they can run an automation sequence to provide amazing evolving, moving sounds. This instrument is very unusual and powerful, as well as absolutely lovely to look at and awesome to play.

Darshan or Darsana is a Sanskrit term meaning "sight" (in the sense of an instance of seeing or beholding), vision, apparition, or glimpse. It is most commonly used for "visions of the divine" in Hindu worship, e.g. of a deity (especially in image form), or a very holy person or artifact. One could "receive" darshana or blessing of the deity in the temple, or from a great saintly person, such as a great guru. [Taken from Wilipedia]"

Use Audio Plugiator Lightwave model

YouTube via kennykeyboard | December 23, 2010 |

"Preceded by a child's toy on the video, the Use Audio Plugiator has a model reminiscent of the the Prophet VS or PPG. Outside of cyclical rhythm sounds, it has an ambience with the delay and chorus. Here, I have an almost metal percussive tone with higher artifacts, a gothic organ sound, and assorted wavetable sweeps creating tempos. Somewhere, my controller was sending unwanted mod messages. I put some video effects just to add interest. Just imagine playing solemn carols with the Meowsic."

Use Audio Plugiator Synth Module Tabletop Synthesizer

via this auction

"Plugiator desktop synthesizer. It is an excellent condition as you can see from the pictures and is fully loaded up with all 8 of Use Audio's amazing plug-in synthesizer emulations. My favorite two are the minimax (minimoog) and Pro-12 (prophet 5). Having owned both of these classic synths in the past I can tell you that the plugiator really nails the sounds with amazing accuracy. The Lightwave also produces amazing sounds. Here are some mp3 samples:

Minimax (minimoog)
Pro-12 (prophet-5)
Lightwave (sounds like a virus!)
B4000 (Hammond B3)

Lots and lots more samples here:

Comes with original box, power adapter, manual, and software editor disc."

Plugiator Demo 2- Prodyssey and B4000

YouTube via kennykeyboard | June 30, 2010

"The virtual analog synthesizer is largely preset in live use but quite programmable with the computer thanks to familiar GUI. I just play sounds from the ARP Odyssey model and a smaller riff from the tonewheel organ model. My cat sits on the patio table listening, purring, and sometimes getting in the way."

Plugiator Minimax and Voctor

YouTube via kennykeyboard — June 16, 2010 —

"The recent virtual analog synth employs 4 different software emulations derived from Creamware and some original designs. It is similar to the Arturia Origin except less featured. It is best suited to studio work in terms of making use of its resources, although live performance is doable with modest planning. Tweaking is limited to filter fy, res, and env amount. Delay and chorus are also on knobs. The knobs have a smooth resolution."

USE AUDIO PLUGIATOR

YouTube via useaudio

via this auction

"Use Audio Plugiator synth, based on the famous Creamware synth plugins: Minimax, B4000, Lightwave and Voctor. 4 more synths/plug-in can be added to the unit.

The Plugiator is an excitingly innovative table top synthesizer which utilizes the latest and fastest DSP technology to provide high-end plug-in technology within a most convenient portable form factor.
The Plugiator can store up to eight different DSP plug-ins and can load any one at a time at a push of a button. Each plug-in comes with 100 presets – allowing you to store up to 800 different sounds within that cute little box which the Plugiator is.

The Plugiator would not be a Use Audio product if the operating panel wasn’t equally inviting: Eight encoder knobs allow you to tweak major sound parameters while playing, and the ten “quick pads” let you quickly store and recall your favorite plug-in/preset combinations – just as you need it when you perform live.
The Plugiator box provides MIDI In and Thru connections, USB, a microphone input, stereo line outs and a headphone output.

included plugins:
- Minimax:MiniMax is the highly acclaimed replica of the famous Moog Minimoog. Incredibly fat and responsive sound, intuitive control... tweaking its knobs is pure fun, a real performance synth!
- Lightwave: While the oscillators of the LightWave are based on wavetables, the aftermath is virtual analog - giving you wide control of the sound. From complex pads to powerful leads, LightWave offers a vast range of sonic possibilities.
- B4000: The B4000 turns your keyboard into the Hammond B3. The genuine sound of a real living electromechanical 400 pound monster. Lively, authentic, emotional...
- Voctor: That's what the microphone input of the Plugiator is for :) Plug in your microphone and modulate sounds with our voice ...

“The sounds themselves are amazing. They’re not just evocative of the originals, they come close to perfect emulations, the dedicated DSP hardware providing a level of realism that most nativesoftware models can’t touch without bringing even a strong computer to its knees from CPU overload.” -- Recording Magazine 02/2009, Mike Metlay
