"In this brief, peaceful composition I used the awesome Moog Model D app in Logic Pro for all the melodic parts. It's such a versatile plugin, and it sounds really great.

Drums are stock Logic Pro samples.
Reverb and Delay by Valhalla. There's a bit of Soundtoys Crystalliser too.

"Today's video is a short improvised ambient set using the @NovationTV Summit keyboard. Everything was recorded into Ableton Live with no click. Additionally we added Luftrum field recordings into the mix afterwards for some extra ambience. The vocals and field recordings had some extra spatial effects added from Glitchmachines Fracture and Hysteresis plugins.

Also the vocal reverb is Valhalla Room with a bit of Valhalla Delay."

RIP Vangelis

One of my biggest inspirations in music has died recently, and after rewatching the movie Blade Runner from 1982, I decided to make this little tribute to him. I am covering the 'Main Titles' track by him.

I don't own a Yamaha CS-80, because it costs a fortune and a half :), but I have the Black Corporation's Deckard's Voice module, which is kind of like a full voice of the Yamaha's CS-80. On top of that, all of the typing and machinery and percussion elements were MIDI'd in my DAW, and then through Intellijel's uMIDI module, I sent all that data to Mutable Instruments Elements. All of the noise and resonant filter spikes were made using the ARP Odyssey, all the bass and bass textures were made on the Moog Subsequent 37CV, and all the chords are created on the Roland Juno 60's Patch number 17.

Some extra elements were also created on various other interactions on the eurorack modules, especially the granular engine of Mutable Instruments Clouds and the mix output on the Deckard's Voice. Most effects were done in post, which included various instances of Valhalla Shimmer, and Valhalla Supermassive for Delay. The only element that I kept from the original recording was the voice at the beginning, and I was able to achieve it by isolating it from the rest of the original track, using the iZotope RX8.

In The Desert Of Arrakis - Dune inspired Jam with Cocoquantus2 & Mother-32

"I recently watched Dune by Denis Villeneuve - and despite being very sceptical - I loved every minute of it. During the scenes in the desert of Arrakis my mind kept wandering to the Cocoquantus2 by Ciat-Lonbarde and how perfect it would be to make sand and desert-like sounds with it. Paired with the Mother-32 I was instantly hooked by the hypnotizing atmosphere created by those two instruments. During the jam I imagined to be in the desert of Arrakis, barely seeing anything with all the sand in front of my eyes and feeling a giant sandworm approach from afar.

First I recorded some noise from Mother-32 into the left sampler of the Cocoquantus, and then I recorded a low bass tone into the right sampler. After that I started jamming with this setup. It sounds pretty different from what I usually compose these days, so I’m looking forward to hear what you think of it.

All sounds come from the Ciat-Lonbarde Cocoquantus2 and Moog Mother-32, with some additional Valhalla Reverb and FabFilter Limiter added in Ableton."

"Roland R-8 drum machine from 1989. 68 stellar high quality 16 bit sounds. Fantastic programming capabilities, great drum pads and at a fair price. Everyone was impressed and it sold very well.

A year after, Roland released the R-8M, the 19" rack module that expanded on the ROM card slots and the rack made everything gig-worthy for when you just wanted the drum sounds and not the sequencer, as many people already did their drum sequencing from a dedicated sequencer or computer.

My demo track is done with only sounds from the factory sounds AND some 808 drums from the 08 card you see in the video.
All reverbs are from the Valhalla VintageVerb plugin and the track has been thoroughly mixed and mastered. The drums are multi-tracked and not sequenced."

Verdens Undergang: Dark ambience from Interstellar Radio

"Audio here is 100% generative and is an untouched, unedited slice (starting at 53-minutes in) from the 9-hour MP3 download version. Tones are from a relatively simple Eurorack patch with Interstellar Radio's (IR) two oscillator outputs going into an Erica Synths Black Dual VCF left and right. IR left-CV is being fed by a separate random source, right-CV from the error output, while the VCF is also getting smooth random CV into both sides as well as into resonance. A little noise is separately being fed through Anglegrinder. The whole thing then goes through a little Valhalla delay and Fabfilter Pro-R reverb. Pro-Q3 pulls everything into mono below about 200Hz which helps tie it all together. The stereo separation of the two oscillators is especially clear with headphones.

Video begins with a clip from Golem (1920), with the remainder being from the 1916 Danish sci-fi short Verdens Undergang (The End of the World).

Patrons can download a 9-hour long 256K MP3 of the audio. It is a full 9-hour one-pass stream and has no loops. Makes rather good sleep audio!
