Modular + Pedals #18: Red Panda Tensor - Mutable Instruments Rings

Published on Aug 21, 2018 Modular + Pedals

"Generative ambient patch. Patch notes below.

Patch notes:

Squarp Instruments Hermod is sequencing and strumming Rings. The sequence is a product of the interaction of the Random, Chance, Swing, Ratchet and Scale effects and a few cleverly placed notes in the step sequence.

Mutable Instruments Rings is in sympathetic strings mode with 4 note polyphony. Brightness is modulated by a a sequence + random lfo on track 3 of the Hermod. Frequency is modulated by a heavily attenuated lfo from Peaks. Damping is modulated by the S&H on Kinks which is triggered by a gate sequence on track 2 of the Hermod. Position is modulated by a sequence on track 2 of the Hermod. Output goes to the ALM Busy Circuits S.B.G and into the Red Panda Tensor.

The Red Panda Tensor is the NXT mode, full loop length, pitch at + 2 oct, random at 50%, direction: ALT.

The output of the ALM Busy Circuits S.B.G goes to the Mutable Instruments Ripples which is filtering out a lot of highs. And from there to Clouds.

Mutable Instruments Clouds is running Parasites in the Oliverb mode at 16kHz/8-bit: ยต-law."

Modular + Pedals #14: Mutable Instruments Plaits - Red Panda Particle

Published on Apr 15, 2018 Modular + Pedals

"Patch notes:

ALM Busy Circuits Pamela's New Workout is the main clock and trigger sequencer.

Channel 1 sends a random gate to trigger the Korg SQ-1 (settings: x1, Gate, RSkip CV1).

Channel 2 is triggering the S&H on Mutable Instruments Kinks (settings: /2, Gate, RSkip CV1, EStep 05, ETrig 05).

Channel 3 sends a gate to the strum input on Rings (settings: x2, Gate, RSkip CV1).

Channel 5 is self-patched into the CV1 input on Pam's, sending a random CV to control the amount of random skipping on the rest of the tracks (settings: /5, Random, Level 70%, Offset 30%, Width 100%).

Channel 6 is triggering the kick drum on channel 1 of Mutable Instruments Peaks (settings: x1, Gate, RSkip CV1, EStep 05, ETrig 03).

Channel 7 is triggering the strike input on the second channel of Make Noise LxD (settings: x1, Gate, RSkip CV1, EStep 05, ETrig 04).

Modular + Pedals

Published on Jan 8, 2018 Modular + Pedals

Playlist:

1. Modular + Pedals #1: Rings - Boss DM-2w
Self-playing ambient patch. Patch notes below.

Boss DM-2w connected and modulated via ALM Busy Circuits S.B.G Stompbox Gateway.

Patch notes:

ALM Busy Circuits Pamela's New Workout is supplying pitch CV, modulation, and triggers for the whole patch.

Channel 1 and 2 are running two different euclidean patterns of attenuated and offset random CV, those are joined by the precision adder on Mutable Instruments Links and then sent to the Intellijel uScale II, and then to Rings.

Channels 3, 4, 7 and 8 are sending LFO to brightness, frequency, damping and position on Rings.

Channel 6 is sending triggers to the trigger in on Clouds.

Channel 5 is sending a heavily attenuated random CV to the EXP input on the S.B.G, which is then converted to expression pedal, and sent to the expression pedal input on the Boss DM-2w.

All channels on Pam's are making heavy use of the random step skipping.

Mutable Instruments Rings is in sympathetic strings mode with 4 note polyphony. The odd output is patched into the input of the S.B.G, out to the Boss DM-2w and back again, and from there to the Clouds.

Boss DM-2w is in the custom mode, with medium feedback.

Mutable Instruments Clouds is the last step in the patch, adding some extra ambience and some stereo movement.

"Using the Red Panda Particle and Strymon Blue Sky pedals I demonstrate how with just two arpeggiated notes via the Arturia Minibrute you can come up with some pretty cool sounds with the slightest tweaks making a nice minimal techno sound similar to old school artists like Basic Channel. Freeze Comparison: EHX Superego vs Red Panda Particle Delay vs Gijs Gieskes DEP2a

YouTube Published on Jul 30, 2012 by coloringpad

"Three freeze pedals processing voice.

A note on the audio: This audio was captured from an amazing radio program called Radiolab on NPR. The podcast is available on iTunes for free, and you should really consider subscribing. This podcast in particular is called Musical Language, and as a musician, has changed how I perceive sound and is one of the most astonishing pieces of radio I have ever encountered. I hope Radiolab and Diana Deutsch are not offended by me using it. Listen @ http://www.radiolab.org/2007/sep/24/

Find the Particle Delay @ redpandalab.com
Find the DEP2a @ http://gieskes.nl/shop/

red panda particle delay: freeze mode

YouTube Published on Jul 29, 2012 by coloringpad

"Just messing around with the new Red Panda Particle Delay with a really simple drum looping. It is pretty outrageous and original, but my favorite feature is the Auto triggered freeze, which is the best I've run across. What a great idea for a delay: the freeze mode captures a segment of audio and loops it indefinitely until the next sound arrives. More to follow."
