"Pure Analog Polyphony with the VAEMI Modular System
Most polyphonic synthesizers are hybrid designs that combine digital control with analog sound generation. In modular systems, however, building a truly pure analog polyphony can be both challenging and deeply rewarding.

In this video, we created a fully analog polyphonic structure using the VAEMI modular system. We used sawtooth waveforms on all oscillators. With 3 OSI-OP modules, we achieved 3-voice polyphony. By using VAEMI Analog Sequencers, we provided dedicated voltage control for each oscillator, resulting in a completely analog polyphonic sequencer.

The signal path was processed through our prototype analog filter module, creating a classic subtractive synthesis architecture. The entire system was synchronized via clock signals from the Beatstep Pro. The final recording was passed through an RE-201, adding a classic tape delay and spring reverb atmosphere.

The fm bleeping melody lead comes from dpvco beta saw through the amazing Scota Vcf which a wonderful module for instant fm leads and sfx ! Of course a lot of modulations are taking place here and there ! Sequencer is the beatstep pro and the drums are from rd6 and volca sample ."

"A unique system brought together with high-quality components and precise engineering. The VAEMI Analog Modular System is entirely handmade using through-hole components and includes many distinctive features of its own.

In this video, you’ll be able to watch and experience a patch I created using through zero frequency modulation — from start to finish, with minimal editing. By the end of the video, I end up creating two separate parallel FM paths. I create a kick and snare using Peaks, and sequence all these sounds with the Beatstep Pro. Then, we patch a synth bass using the VAEMI system.

Shortly after the bass becomes audible, I add a bit of stereo presence in the higher frequencies using the computer, activating a plug-in midway through the recording. Other than that, there is no additional processing.

With a transparent mastering approach, you’ll hear the entire recording session in its clearest and most natural form.

The AL-110 has Midi Sync so you can plug it to your modern gear and actually use it in a modern studio setup.

It provides 8 external trigger inputs so you can trig individual sounds and accent with a standard trig signal, as shown in the youtube video (using in this case the great and affordable Arturia Beatstep Pro).

It also features 4 separate outputs (when a jack is inserted, the corresponding sound is withdrawn from the Main Output).

A great feature is the 'sweep' control, that allows you to trigger BD (Pitch) or CH (decay), with the Accent or with an external trigger source. Piano sample on the 4MS Stereo Triggered Sampler being mangled by the Strymon Magneto, the other voice is the Seven Sisters (voice 5) with pitches and decay manipulated by the Bastl CV Trinity, hi hat is the 2HP Hat being triggered by CV Trinity.

Second patch:
Synth pattern coming from the MPC One, Rhythm pattern from the Seven Sisters (voice 6), triggered by the MPC One.

Third patch:
Make Noise Morphagene loop, arpeggiated melody with the 2HP Arp / After Later BOSC / Bastl CV Trinity, and rhythm patterns from the Seven Sisters (voices 1 and 3) being triggered by the MPC One, and CV manipulated with the MPC One / Bastl CV Trinity.

"Dogon is a 3-voice percussive module and because of the modulation inputs it gives the possibility to create many sounds.
In this video you can listen to 3 units of Dogon for a total of 9 voices (not all of them were used all the time) some voices were modulated and others only triggered.

Arturia beatstep pro was used for the percussive patterns, and some external modules to modulate some of the voices. With 3 units we have unmeasured firepower.

With Dogon you can create from the classic and iconic kick, tom, snare drum and hi-hat sounds of the most famous and historic drum machines or you can unleash your creativity with the available modulation inputs that allow you the creation of a multitude of sounds.

Dogon is divided into three different voices/sections and each voice has a Mix control for the master level out plus each voice has a separate dedicated output (these outputs have no distortion).

A distortion on the master level enriches the final sound and thanks to a potentiometer for handling Dry/Wet (also controlled by voltage) you can decide how much distortion or dry sound to have.

In this module we have tried to offer as many modulations as possible precisely to give the user the opportunity to experiment and create the sound he or she prefers.
