video upload by thenoiztemple

"080925 Old Town Spring - Spring, Texas

Kerr County Flood Relief Fund
The Kerr County Flood Relief Fund supports urgent relief and long-term rebuilding after the devastating floods of July 4, 2025. Your generosity helps neighbors across our region recover and rebuild.

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country—a 501(c)(3) public charity based in Kerrville—will directly distribute funds to vetted local organizations providing rescue, relief, recovery services and flood assistance. The Fund will support impacted communities including Boerne, Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point and Comfort.

All donations are tax-deductible, and you will receive a receipt for your gift.

The Kerrville, Texas floods in July 2025 were caused by a combination of heavy rainfall and the area's terrain. Tropical moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry combined with a slow-moving low-pressure system and a mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) to produce intense, localized rainfall over the Texas Hill Country. The rugged terrain, combined with dry, drought-stricken soils, meant that the rain ran off quickly into rivers and streams, causing rapid flooding. The Guadalupe River, in particular, experienced a historic rise in water levels.

Shibasaki MOD - Tokyo set song #7

video upload by Arman Bohn

"Song #7 from my set at Shibasaki MOD in Tokyo, April, 2025.

The MT32-pi starts it off by playing some noise samples I collected with my SOMA Ether. Those samples are being sequenced and panned (via CC LFO) by the Phantasmal Force - which is sending clock to everything.

Next, I bring in a percussive pattern in 7/8 on GREAT CONJUNCTION. I randomize some of the instruments throught creating some nice robotic textures.

After I get going, I use the Phantasmal Force to unmute different instruments (drums/synths/bass) on the Dirtywave M8.

The Prismatic Spray MKii is is layered in with some hi-hat sounding bytebeat noise, retriggered in tempo by the Phantasmal Force."

Shibasaki MOD - Tokyo set song #6

video upload by Arman Bohn

"My synths and device can be found here:
https://distropolisgoods.com/

Song #6 from my set at Shibasaki MOD in Tokyo, April, 2025.

Droning ...

The Dirtywave M8 is playing randomized, droning chords.

The Prismatic Spray MKii is providing some heavily filtered, low end chaos via two bytebeat algorithms (one left/one right).

I'm using the Phantasmal Force Micro MIDI controller as a "keyboard" to play and hold single notes on the MT32-pi (which is running a soundfont set to a electric piano instrument).

All of this is routed through the NTS-3 for some reverb."

Shibasaki MOD - Tokyo set song #5

video upload by Arman Bohn

"My synths and device can be found here:
https://distropolisgoods.com/

Song #5 from my set at Shibasaki MOD in Tokyo, April, 2025.

A short interlude.

The Phantasmal Force is sending four generative sequences to the MT-32 pi, triggering some sound fonts. It is also sending multiple CC LFOs to the NTS-3 to modulate the delay settings - creating a warbly "underwater" feel.

The Prismatic Spray MKii is droning on a nice spiral visual.

I'm playing GREAT CONJUNCTION with the Phantasmal Force as well - using a button in NOTE MODE and turning the knob to play notes within Mixolydian/C."

Wave (Oberheim TEO-5 + Dirtywave M8 Tracker)

video upload by The Way Up

"This super lush track means many things to me, but one thing it definitely isn't not is a soundtrack to an imaginary scene at the end of an 80s movie about a grizzled, tired cop (Tom), who after years chasing his nemesis, the charming criminal, Dan. After fate brings them together as unwitting partners and against all odds, friends, they manage to defeat a cartel who would threaten the entire city. After narrowly prevailing, our heroes end on a beach. As they breath sighs of relief and feel the warm sun on their skin, a realization dawns on them—their natural partnership is at an end. Dan smiles at Tom, and though just 48 hours earlier, Tom would have gladly cuffed him, and they exchange a knowing look of respect and slowly walk away, knowing they'll never see each other again.

Most of the synth parts on this were the TEO-5, with a few parts from the M8's internal engines, plus some nice classic drum machine samples."

End (Dirtywave M8 Tracker + TEO-5)

video upload by The Way Up

"Managed to snag a TEO-5 just in the nick of time before tariffs hit and it jumped in price. I've been eyeing it for a while - I love that lush Oberheim sound, and it's amazing for synthwave, ambient, and dark wave sounds. All synths here were from the TEO-5, sampled and edited a bit on the M8. Threw a bit of ozone on at the end."

The M8 Tracker Is Absolutely Unstoppable

video upload by EZBOT

"The M8 Tracker is my all-time favorite portable groovebox. I've used it in several commercial productions and plan to use it for many more that are already in the pipeline. Why do I love it? Its workflow lets me program music in a linear song format—without the scope creep and clicky mania that comes with working in a DAW. For anyone who wants to write a song without being tied to a computer, there's no instrument I recommend more than the M8 Tracker by Dirtywave. Today we explore some new BETA features that really do up the power this tiny box has to offer."

Rhodonea II

video upload by John C.S. Keston

"This video is a new interpretation of Rhodonea (Rhodonea II) that I performed for SEAMUS (the Society for Electroacoustic Music in the US) at Purdue University on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

The animated, generative, graphic score developed with Processing.org sends corresponding MIDI data to an electronic, hardware instrument called the Dirtywave M8 #dirtywavem8 #dirtywave (https://dirtywave.com/). A previous interpretation of the piece ( • Rhodonea: Radical Futures Performance... [posted here] ) used Ableton Live 12 synths including Meld.

The piece serves as a model of how we might collaborate with near future synthetic entities. Software feeds automated, algorithmic, projected visual cues, tempi, and low frequency oscillations to improvising electronic musicians. The visuals, based on Maurer Roses, suggest melodic, harmonic, and percussive gestures that are modulated by data streaming from the generative animations. Throughout the piece the artist adapts to the familiar yet unpredictable graphic scores and corresponding signals.

Note: please watch in full screen and listen on headphones or high fidelity stereo speakers. More details about this video are available at https://audiocookbook.org/video-rhodo...

Reverb's Most Popular Electronic Gear in the US by State in 2025

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via Reverb

"You might've seen our recently published list of the best-selling electronic gear on Reverb in 2024... but what about the most popular electronic gear in every state?

While plenty of mainstays made the list—like the ever-popular Teenage Engineering OP-1—there are some state-specific preferences I thought you might enjoy:

Viva Las Vegas: Nevada's most popular piece of electronic gear is an Akai Force Standalone Music Production / DJ Performance System, likely a product of all the electronic shows that take place in Sin City.

More surprising? Alabama and Kentucky, neither of which are typically known for electronic music, love their DJ gear. Maybe the latter is the Jack Harlow effect?

The Eurorack Reigns Supreme: As modular synthesis becomes more popular, Arizona, Iowa, and South Dakota proved their love for Euroracks above all else.

The Postal Service: Washington, home to Death Cab for Cutie, was won by the Dirtywave M8 Portable Tracker Sequencer. The irony of The Postal Service's revival, 20-plus-years after Death Cab's Ben Gibbard sent digital audio tapes to Jimmy Tamborello via USPS, isn't lost on us!

The Border War: Much has been made of regional music over the past few decades, from southern rap to the Pacific Northwest's indie roots...but nowhere was that more strongly displayed than Kansas and Missouri, infamous "Border War" rivals, both of which chose variations of the Akai MPK.

You can check out every state's favorite piece of electronic gear here."
