Jenny Ondioline - Beautiful, Historic N/P

"This gorgeous Ondioline was probably made in 1950. It was last bought in Paris in 2006. At that time it was not working, so it was given a complete overhaul (3800 Euros) by one of Europe's Ondioline specialists, Jean-Loup Dierstein. The rosewood cabinet was also French-polished and still looks beautiful. After the overhaul, synth pioneer (and the original 1950s Ondioline salesman) Jean-Jacques Perrey checked it out and said it was 'comme nouveau!' ('like new' - see photo). EXTRAS: A sturdy custom flight case was made (included in this auction) which insured its safe shipping to the current owner's non-smoking pet-free studio in Tokyo. A clear perspex back was also made for it (the original art deco wooden back will also be included). A 1/4' line out has been added, as well as a standard 3-pin mains socket.

And for completists, copies of several letters from George Jenny, and the original owner's manual (all in French) are included, as well as a brand new English version of the manual.

WORKING CONDITION: Time takes its toll and as they all do, this 75-year old Ondioline does need some maintenance. The keyboard is fine - touch vibrato, preset vibrato and knee volume all good. A few of the filters have no effect. Sometimes the instrument is almost silent, and a restart may fix that. In its current state, it can be described as an 'intermittent' instrument.

Probably largely due to some loose or rusty connections - fixing these should not be difficult. When it works, the tone is as rich and vibrant as ever, and in tune over the entire 6-octave range. A rare opportunity to own one of the few hundred Ondiolines ever produced!

"Korg PS-3200 - A fully configured system that's been fully cosmetically and operationally restored.

One of the finest fully configured surviving examples of Korg’s iconic PS-3200 — a true masterpiece of 1970s analogue engineering, fully restored for the modern collector.

Servicing Status

KSR has undertaken an extensive cosmetic and operational restoration of this PS-3200, a project spanning several years but largely completed by the end of 2024 — thanks to the exceptional work of Kent Spong of KSR. The Korg has been held in our secure facility throughout 2025, so post-sale, we will have the instrument and all accessories fully checked before shipping or delivering to the new owner. This process will add approximately 10 to 14 days to the post-sale completion time.

Remarks

We have decided to offer for sale our complete Korg PS-3200 System, which forms part of the RL Music Vintage Synthesizer Collection. Over the last 22 years, we’ve retained a small number of the finest vintage synthesizers to pass through our hands — instruments we found particularly inspiring or significant. This PS-3200 is one such example and has been the subject of a full and detailed cosmetic and operational restoration by our trusted vintage synth technician, Kent Spong of KSR.

It is generally accepted that Korg produced only around 200 units of the PS-3200, although the exact number is difficult to verify. Whether 100 or 500 were made, production was certainly very limited, making this an exceptionally rare, hand-built instrument by any measure.

Due to the rarity and individual nature of instruments like this, we’ve taken great care to provide a comprehensive and honest description of this PS-3200. We encourage any prospective buyer to ensure they have all the information needed to make an informed purchase decision — and of course, we are happy to answer any questions directly.

Provenance

We purchased this PS-3200 from a UK seller (an experienced user) in 2015 and collected it personally from their studio in the South of England. At the time, the instrument was fully working but had not been professionally serviced, so we decided to retain it within our PS-series collection — completing the full lineup — and plan its restoration later.

The overall condition was original and very good but showing signs of cosmetic age typical for a 35+-year-old synthesizer. We therefore elected to undertake a full operational and cosmetic restoration. While the market for highly restored vintage synths has cooled in recent years — as values for unrestored examples have climbed — our motivation for this restoration was personal rather than commercial, as the PS-3200 has always been part of our private collection.

"Here's the original orange AXXE from my ARP collection — now enhanced with powerful and unique upgrades that set it apart from the rest, tailored by synth guru and ARP specialist Saint Eric. The keybed has been equipped with aftertouch - stepping into a Pro Soloist's territory! - easily one of the most expressive we've experienced on many synths we've had in our hands. It's really a joy to play: internally routed to the VCA and/or VCF, the AT pressure mechanism can be tastefully dialled using three front panel controls and has its own CV output too, for further control of external synths and modern-day modulars. This unit has a really characterful VCF which received the 4075 Timothy Smith filter upgrade. In addition to the external audio input for routing outboard signals to the VCF, on the rear panel you'll find a CV mix output which sums the keyboard, the sensitive PPC pads, the portamento and octave switches for controlling outboard synths. And you have a special variable CV output with two dedicated attenuators to adjust the scaling response, all controllable from the main panel, turning this synth into a powerful and unique analogue keyboard/CV controller. There is also a separate LFO CV output, very useful as the synth is modded to use the internal LFO and Sample & Hold in free-run mode just using a selectable switch. More useful and common modifications to this synth apart from the upgraded VCA and clean-audiopath improvements, are three different ADSR response modes: Fast, Normal & Slow via a three-position switch, A rich, powerful and extremely versatile analog. Cosmetics are just outstanding. Really impressive when you have it in front of you! "The Yamaha SS30 is a vintage analog string synthesizer from the late 1970s, delivering lush ensemble textures and dual-channel stereo voicing in a uniquely expressive and musical package. Unlike some string synths of its time, the SS30 features two complete sound generators (one per stereo channel), offering rich chorusing and beautifully animated stereo depth.

This unit is in very good condition with some surface nicks in the chassis (shown in images), fully functional, and includes the original Yamaha-branded hard case. This unit is 100V (Japanese voltage) but a step-up power transformer is included for use with US voltage.

Introducing Tranzwave, a powerful wavetable Synthesizer, inspired by an unsung hero from the late 90’s: The Ensoniq Fizmo.

The flexible modulation engine, coupled with creative editing and randomization features, simplifies the creation of new, innovative sounds. Tranzwave brings all the wavetables from the Fizmo into the modern age for new creative explorations. With its user-friendly interface, Tranzwave provides complete control over wavetable and effect controls, making the creation of new sounds both fun and easy.

Tranzwave – A Tribute to Fizmo’s DNA

In the late 1990s Ensoniq pioneered “Transwaves”, a unique form of wavetable synthesis notably featured in their Fizmo synthesizer. Unlike earlier forms of wavetable synthesis, which could sometimes produce more static or stepped sounds, Ensoniq’s technology facilitated fluid transitions between different waveforms within a wavetable.
This innovation led to the creation of evolving, dynamic soundscapes. Ensoniq’s approach allowed for a more seamless and organic morphing of sounds, enabling musicians to craft rich, textured audio experiences that changed over time. This method offered a fresh and novel way to explore sonic possibilities, distinguishing it from the more digital and discrete transitions of previous wavetable synthesizers like the PPG Wave. Although the Ensoniq Fizmo, which utilized Transwaves, did not achieve widespread fame, its distinctive approach to wavetable synthesis marked a significant development in the evolution of electronic sound and influenced modern synthesis techniques.

Tranzwave brings this older, unique wavetable concept, known as Transwaves, into the modern era of music production. By sampling each frame of these Transwaves, Tranzwave offers a rich and dynamic sonic palette that captures the essence of these early digital synthesizers. It’s akin to having a vast library of colors and shades at your disposal, offering endless possibilities for creating new and innovative sounds.
