BOSS CE-2w vs TC.Electronics SCF Gold+ deeper Review (JX-8P+3P, Argon8X, Drumbrute & Zarenbourg)
video upload by Knobs & Switches
"Here is my personal comparison between the Boss CE-2w and the TC.Electronics SCF Gold+ with a little help of my Roland JX-8P and 3P, Modal Electronics Argon8X, Arturia Drumbrute Impact, and a Waldorf Zarenbourg Desktop Module. Other supporting roles were played by Korg KR-55, Chase Bliss Generation Loss MkII, OBNE Rever and a Korg Drumlogue. Wait for the Outro, when the Chase Bliss meets Supertramp."

Emu Orbit 9090 V2 - the sound of
video by Riktenstein
Controlled by a Waldorf Zarenbourg no less.
"The sound demo for the Emu Orbit 9090 V2 rompler sound synth.
Released in 1996, the Emu Orbit 9090 V2 was a sample based rompler synth. Heavily aim at the Dance music producer. It's editing of sounds is slow and with software plug-ins like Serum and Pigment it's now hard for this sound module to take centre stage. This is reflected in it's cheap second hand price."

Waldorf Zarenbourg Electric Piano Demo
Published on Nov 28, 2017 DV247 Music Store UK TV
"A short demo of the beautiful Waldorf Zarenbourg Electric Piano."
Not technically a synth, but it is Waldorf, and we haven't seen many demos of it. As for Waldorf synths, I'm curious what progress we will see with the Waldorf Quantum at NAMM this year.

Waldorf Introduces The Kompaktklavier - a Zarenbourg in Desktop Format
This one in via Soviet Space Child, spotted on Future Music. Something I didn't realize, or never really thought about until now, is that engine features a 6-OP FM synthesizer. There is a software editor for it as well (image below). "The software editor (Mac & PC compatible, available summer 2014) affords direct access to all generators’ fundamental sound-shaping parameters, as well as to the Zarenbourg’s menus of internal sounds and layers." Unfortunately, no iPad editor for a more immediate interface into the synth engine.
From Future Music:
"The Zarenbourg Module offers the sound engine of the Zarenbourg Piano in a stylishly compact full-metal enclosure. And like its larger cousin, three different sound generators deliver Waldorf quality: Physical modeling recreates the glory of classic E-Piano sounds with authenticity. The direct streaming sample playback engine with 4 GB of sample memory provides a selection of fantastic grand, upright and electric pianos. The third sound generation system is a 6-operator FM synthesizer, perfect for classic DX pianos and a variety of other trademark FM sounds. The effects section provides a huge selection of high-quality effects, such as Reverb, Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Echo, Auto Wah, Equalizer and Overdrive, as well as many effect combinations. Each sound can be freely combined with an effect(s) combination and stored in the internal memory. New sounds and effects can be added via the integrated SD Card slot. Connect the module to your Mac or PC to work on sounds, setups and effects via the included software editor. And like its cousin, Zarenbourg module awakes right in the moment you turn it on."

New NAMM Rumor: Waldorf Kassettenspieler Desktop Tape Loop Synthesizer Coming to NAMM?
Spotted this one on sequencer.de. This is of course only a rumor at this point, but you never know. Waldorf of did release the Streichfett desktop string synthesizer, as well as the Zarenbourg electric piano, so a mellotronesque desktop synth wouldn't be all that far-fetched.

inspired by the legendary sounds of tape machines
Upload any kind of samples
– ARM Processor
– Analog Multimode Filter
– 128 GB Internal Flash Memory
– Stereo Output
– USB connection for transferring samples
– MIDI In and Out
– Software Editor for samples
– Digital FX section with Reverb/Phaser from Streichfett plus Tape Delay and Vacuum Distortion emulation
– 12 Memory Location (same as Streichfett)
as you can see it is more like a sampler than based on a tape – it has real memory so it is a simple sampler based on entry level processor kit – we don’t know if this is for real or not. but here’s some images, that look like something of a truth might be in there..?"
What do you all think?

Nova Musik - Waldorf Zarenbourg piano with Stefan Stenzel at NAMM 2015
Published on Jan 28, 2015 Nova Musik
"Waldorf Music CEO Stefan Stenzel gives us a tour of the sound and interface on Waldorf's Zarenbourg piano, announced several years ago and now shipping in the US.
Boasting an attractive and distinctive design, Zarenbourg features an intuitive LCD-free user interface, a built-in 2.1 speaker system and a premium 76-key Fatar keybed. Its sound engine uses physical modeling for e-piano sounds and true FM synthesis for others. Among its onboard effects are a chorus, flanger, phaser, echo/reverb, auto-way, equalizer, overdrive and tremolo in both stereo and mono."

"Waldorf Zarenbourg is a pretty, chunky, digital piano. It has a certain amount of internal sounds (physically modeled, sampled and fm synthesized). On this video, a quick run on the internal preset. Audio out goes straight into digital recorder."

Waldorf Zarenbourg FX & Layers
Published on Jul 31, 2013
"Waldorf Zarenbourg offers several different FX for internal sounds (chorus, phaser, flanger, wah, reverb/delay, eq, distortion). You can choose single FX or create chains of effects serially connected. Still, is it possible layer two different sounds, with user defined balance."

NAMM 2012: Waldorf Music Booth Pics

flickr set by MATRIXSYNTH
Waldorf were primarily showing their Zarenbourg electric piano which was working this time. A Blofeld and the new Pulse 2 were present. The Pulse 2 wasn't plugged in but it felt like a real unit in weight and metal enclosure. Note the number of knobs in the main programming matrix section of the Pulse 2 is six while the Blofeld is four. You can see Stefan Stenzel showing the Zarenbourg to a gentleman who apparently was well known in the industry. If anyone can ID him let me know.

I had an enjoyable talk with Stefan Stenzel.
We also talked a little about previous Waldorf synths and Largo. I told him I'd love Largo on the upcoming Apple slate. :) We'll see...

TipTop Audio Modular
Update: some highlights from synchro1: "- *THE* highlight was seeing someone tinkering with a prototype module for a demo and realizing it was Mike Brown [Livewire] and the expander modulefor the AFGs. Mike looks well and it was great to speak with him again.

- new digital polyphonic synth from Mungo [State Zero]. Very intriguing and lots of modular possibilities as almost everything has external CV capability. Great ergonometric design, sound (in noisy NAMM environment) reminded me a bit of my SunSyn. And it is quite expensive but there is an awful lot in there. Number of photos at the link below.

- Monorocket cases look great.
- Make Noise X/Y sequencer and capacitance-sensitive keypads are very intriguing - ordered 2 of the keypad modules.
- Flight of Harmony Sound of Shadows on display but did not have a chance to play with it yet."
