Synthetic Sound Labs Announces Wave Oracle™

Synthesizer module review of the the Wave Oracle video upload by Synthesizer Sound Design

"Synthetic Sound Labs Wave Oracle Model 1910

This video is a review of the 5U / MU multi-function module from Synthetic Sound labs - The Wave Oracle.

The Wave Oracle exists to inspire curiosity about signals—and creativity in what you do with them. Your synthesizer makes voltages, but you usually experience the result through your ears. Wave Oracle adds another way to explore: you can see what is happening while you listen.

Press release follows:

Synthetic Sound Labs announces Wave Oracle™, a multi-function signal visualization and learning instrument designed specifically for modular synthesizers. See and explore your sounds.

Wave Oracle™ combines oscilloscope, XY, spectrum analysis, tuning, metering, audio-responsive visualization and integrated learning functions in a single module. Four signal inputs allow several points in a synthesizer patch to remain connected simultaneously, with channel selection available within applicable modes.

Wave Oracle™ is designed to be easy to learn and use, without requiring a background in electronics or test equipment.

SCOPE
Wave Oracle™ can display signals from oscillators, envelopes, LFOs, modulation and complete voices.

The oscilloscope views these as voltage changing over time, revealing the actual shape and timing of a signal. Laboratory-style adjustable timebases, vertical scaling, positioning and triggering allow visualization and measurement of up to four independent synth signals at once.

XY
Plots two signals against one another to display phase and frequency relationships, modulation and Lissajous figures. XY uses Channels 1 and 2 as its X and Y signal sources.

FFT
Where SCOPE shows voltage over time, Wave Oracle™’s FFT modes reveal frequency content and how it changes over time. Multiple spectrum displays provide different views of fundamentals, harmonics, noise, filter response and the evolving spectral content of complex sounds and complete voices.

Automatic and manual display scaling accommodate signals ranging from individual oscillators to dynamic musical material.

TUNER
Measures frequency and musical pitch for oscillator tuning, matching pitches and checking oscillator tracking.

HARMONICONSTELLATION - OVERVIEW

video upload by A Magic Pulsewave

"MIDI EXPANDER, HARMONY COMPUTER, AND PRESET SYNTH FOR AMP DEVICES. www.melodyoracle.com

HARMONICONSTELLATION is a 3 channel AMP LINK to MIDI expander and harmony computer, with built-in three channel preset synthesizer. Converts AMP Obliquencer, Melody Oracle, Touch Tones, and Star Song to 3 channels (or up to three voices on one channel) of MIDI control signal.

Master settings control root note and mode, to format the incoming AMP control stream to a set of MIDI note values within a specified scale (9 harmonic modes over the full chromatic range). Each channel has Octave and Harmony Offset settings, creating spontaneous harmony to the incoming note stream, within the scale set by the master settings. CV inputs (0-3.3v, diode protected) for Octave and Harmony Offset on each channel allow modulation from Obliquencer CV outputs or other CV sources. Octave and Harmony Offset selectors become CV attenuators when jacks have been patched.

HARMONICONSTELLATION outputs MIDI master clock if connected to Obliquencer or Melody Oracle, allowing MIDI sequencers and drum machines to sync.

Each TRS MIDI output carries all three internal channels over MIDI, and each channel can be routed to any of the 16 MIDI channels using the recessed touch controls.

Built-in polyphonic, multi-timbral synthesizer output creates an audio preview of your sequences without needing to connect an external MIDI synthesizer. 16 preset sounds, with a variety of waveform and envelope profiles, correspond to the MIDI channel settings.

Multiple HARMONICONSTELLATIONs can be chained to control additional synthesizers. Can also be chained with AMP Expandoor and Wave Expander.

SPECIFICATIONS:
Connection: Shielded connector RJ45, ethernet cable.
Dimensions: 8.66” x 5.25” x 3”
Power: Bus power, no additional power supply required
MIDI Output 3.5” TRS Type A
CV inputs: 3.5mm 0-3.3V unipolar diode protected."

Make Noise Trio: 50 Combo Patches for Strega+0coast+0ctrl. No Talk Sound Demo. Live Jam/Performance

video upload by Anton Anru

"VOLTAGE IN SHADOW is a collection of 50 combo patches and patterns for a semi-modular system by Make Noise: 0-COAST + 0-CTRL + STREGA. It includes textures, basses, leads, drones, chords, percussion, and FXs.
💎 There is a wide range of timbres inside the pack: soft and bright, musical and experimental, harmonic and FX-like, cyclic and generative, slow and fast, analog- and digital-style, dry and atmospheric, clean and distorted.

📦 Get these patches: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/make...

🦠 This is one of the most complex works I’ve done. It required a lot of time and effort, but I also received huge pleasure and inspiration while working with such interesting and unique devices.
The patches turned out to be very fluid, dynamic, and non-static — largely due to the “alive” and sensitive nature of the synths. However, this also creates some difficulty when recreating the patches from images: even small changes in knob positions can affect the final result.

Error Instruments Introduces Das Ritual Candle Flame Synth Noise Generator

video upload by errorinstruments paul tas

"✨ The Ritual — Let the Flame Speak ✨ The Ritual is not just an instrument. It is a presence — a small, mysterious machine that invites sound, light, and spirit to merge into one living moment. At its core, The Ritual offers two elemental voices: a warm, crackling texture like burning wood, and a deep, sub-harmonic bass that vibrates through the body. Two outputs, two energies, both ready to shape the atmosphere of your space. But the true magic lies in the heart of the machine. In the center burns a candle. Three light-sensitive sensors observe the living flame — every flicker, every breath of air, every tiny movement of light. The flame becomes the conductor, shaping rhythm, modulation, and tone. It decides the pulse. It guides the sound. It becomes an oracle of vibration. With control voltage input, three intuitive potentiometers, and full compatibility with stand-alone setups, pedal chains, and Eurorack systems, The Ritual integrates effortlessly into any sonic temple you create. Add a touch of delay, let the harmonics bloom, and suddenly the sound becomes something else — psychedelic, hypnotic, deeply alive. A soundscape where chaos becomes beauty, and the smallest movement of fire transforms the entire universe of tone. Hand-crafted by Error Instruments, built in rugged Bricky format, The Ritual invites you to surrender your control and let the flame speak. Light the candle. Start The Ritual. Let the fire shape your sound"

Behringer Grind: 50 Dark Modular Patches+Patterns. Jam Demo

video upload by Anton Anru

"🧿 Encrypted Pulse is a collection of 50 patches for the semi-modular synthesizer Behringer Grind. The bank includes: 11 Basses, 12 Leads, 12 Plucks, and 15 Chords.
⚙️ The centerpiece of Grind is its multi-mode oscillator — a powerful and flexible sound source capable of generating a wide variety of tones. This collection was born from an exploration of that oscillator’s potential in combination with the synth’s other sections and the patchbay.

📦 Get these patches: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/grin...

🔮 In this collection, I aimed to create dark, noisy, gritty, and sometimes atonal presets suitable for genres such as techno, ambient, IDM, industrial, deep, house, progressive, downtempo, breaks, drum 'n' bass, and others.

A Magic Pulsewave's STAR SONG - Programmable Optical Disc Based Sequencer

video upload by A Magic Pulsewave

http://www.melodyoracle.com

Press release follows:

Taking its cosmic inspiration from star charts and ancient astrolabes, STAR SONG is a rotating optical disc-programmed sequencer with a built-in minimalist synthesizer.

STAR SONG can be used either to play its own built-in pulsewave synthesizer, or in combination with the A.M.P. electronics WAVE EXPANDER (sold separately) to drive external analog and modular synthesizers.

HOW IT IS USED
To create sequences on STAR SONG, the seven translucent rings (orbits) of the optical disc are marked with a marker (included) or opaque tape. The disc is removable and additional discs are sold separately, allowing for indefinite storage of your favorite sequences.

The outer six rings control the tuned note selection and note-on/off sequencing. The innermost ring controls the cut-off frequency for the built-in bandpass filter.

Disc on/off and disc direction are toggled from touch contacts on the front panel, and disc speed is controlled from the central rotary control.

Additionally, there are 1/8" inputs to control rotation speed and rotation direction with an external source.

The addition of WAVE EXPANDER makes the STAR SONG into an incredibly versatile GATE (6 channels) and CV (1 channel) sequencer, as well as providing the STAR SONG’s tuned audio oscillator over five separate octave divisions (four audio and one sub-audio), 12 outputs in all to integrate into your modular system.

Multiple STAR SONG units can be synced by using an external clock signal, and you can even slave STAR SONG to your existing MELODY ORACLE/WAVE EXPANDER combo.

SING THE CYCLES OF THE SPHERES, with STAR SONG, a “revolutionary” new sequencer.

TECH SPECS:
Disc Rotation: 0~15RPM
Panel Controls: Disc rotation on/off, disc rotation rate, disc rotation reverse.
Synthesizer: Quasi-monophonic pulsewave, 8 tuned notes, each with three octaves used in any combination. Sequenced via optical disc.
Tone Filter: Bandpass, optically-controlled.
Audio Output: ¼” LINE (5V p-p)
AMP LINK Output: CAT 5 or 6 w/SHIELDED connector (compatible with WAVE EXPANDER and future AMP accessories only).
Motor Clock Input: ⅛” 0-12V. ON @>7.5V
Disc Direction Input: ⅛” 0-12V. CW @>7.5V

Studio Electronics Family Herrre

video by StudioElectronics

"Once upon a drum machine, The Brothers St. Regis had to part with their beloved, stock TR-808; before it left the building, Greg St. Regis programmed this beat: "HE is The Rhythm Man, tapping at he backseat..." Several summers passed and it again found favor in their sight, after hundreds of cuts & creases and "Boomstar Brotherhood" #SE80 percussion pieces. Soon Rhodes chords followed the Rhythm-Man's-flow. It is commonly believed bass was next (30+ tracks): driving, testifying, border-defying Midimini V30, in the lead role, with wildly versatile and colorful programmable support from the SE-02. 10 or so passes of Omega 8—essentially MIDI Channel 1/1980’s style—broadened and brightened the Gospel of Chordal Excellence. The Oracle at Ableton/Atlanta spoke a Wayne Shorter spirit into the leads, so the SE-02 and Midimini began stacking up the solo flights, fighting and reuniting like play-cousin nights. Voices from the “Family Herrre” Chorus preached and ascended majestically—though soothingly prosaic at times—inspiring, shaping, begging, cajoling, demanding, elevating and refining the piece to unforeseen coherence and towering heights… feigning silence for moments, only to reanimate through & beyond fragmentation challenges with that magical dialect and love from #thelou

"Consider all that."

FINIS

Captain’s Log Supplemental 1182021:

Most if not all of the polyphonic detail work (apart from the Waves Morphoder vocoding), not tracing or amplifying the piano track MIDI, rather often clustering around spoken and sung WORD, like a gritty reverent glitter (WORD, arguably entirely too sacrosanct to digitally preserve… to orchestrate, yet now its dope message moves forward and out), was tracked note by Motu's brilliant “Split Notes” feature in #DP10 - Midimini V30 and SE-02 battling again for the muse’s attention/affection.
