First Steps with OXI One MKII / EP. 11 Modulation lanes
video upload by OXI Instruments
First Steps with OXI One series
"Learn how to bring your sequences to life with modulation on the OXI One MKII.
In this video, we cover the fundamentals of modulation and how to use modulation lanes to create movement, variation, and expression in your patterns. From assigning MIDI CC destinations to shaping evolving sequences with independent lengths, divisions, and offsets—this is your starting point to unlock a more dynamic workflow.
Using the OXI Coral as an example, you’ll see how powerful modulation can be when combined with proper instrument definitions, and how quickly you can turn a simple loop into something rich and evolving.
We also explore key features like:
– Drawing and editing modulation lanes
– Setting min/max ranges
– Using randomization and smoothing
– Decoupling modulation from the main sequence
– Live recording modulation in real time
This is the first step into a deeper modulation system—future videos will cover LFOs, internal destinations, and advanced routing."

A Demo of mods driving the TastyChips Integral dual convolver pedal
video upload by ParadisoModular
"As I recently finished modifying my 'Integral' dual convolver pedal by TastyChips (https://www.tastychips.nl/) to accept control from multiple external CVs and gates, here's a quick demo video. After a few minutes of showing the Integral's front panel being driven by my external CVs, I switch to showing more detail on my mods and the patch that runs it. This patch also gave me a chance to explore my TipTop Matrix Sequencer, where you dial in 16 pitches from which you can extract 10 sequences that traverse the note matrix in different ways. I crossfade periodically between these 10 lines driving different tone sources (reversing them occasionally to give a bit of variety) - this provides a dynamic and harmonically-rich base upon which to run the Convolver, which produces all of the effects that you hear.
My mods let me turn essentially all of the knobs with external voltages (I also have a gate input for the 'shift' button so I can get at the secondary functions of these knobs too), and indeed, I do that here. All of the knobs are being turned constantly by different LFOs. This pedal sports two convolvers - the panel's knobs affect the one that's displayed, but also I provide a periodic pulse to the 'select' knob (which I gated in the pedal so it doesn't hit when 'shift' is active to avoid going into a menu), which toggles control to the other convolver. So this patch, simple as it is, spans a lot of sonic space...
The Integral is a wonderful box - it sports two convolver chains, and you can select from circa 100 different impulse responses (plus add your own via a USB stick). Convolution is a general operation that spans across reverb, echo, filtering, etc. - you essentially inherit the character of the chosen impulse in the driving waveform. It's not a real-time operation in principle (the convolution integral for each sample goes across the entire impulse) although there are ways of speeding and breaking the operation up to approach real time (plus this pedal allows you to window the integration over the stored impulse). It's a very deep pedal - and in using it, I saw right away how turning several of the knobs at once can get you to interesting modulations and textures while they are moving (the expression input gives access to only one parameter - I use it now for the convolution cross-fade, as I couldn't get to that input with my mods). TastyChips used to make a Eurorack module giving some of this flexibility, but it only included one convolver. The Integral pedal has 2 and is a current product, hence reinforcing my decision to acquire one and essentially 'turn' it into a versatile synth module.
My sequences here are a bit major-key/unsophisticated (all notes have to work potentially on top of each other and in whatever sequence it picks), and the pedal occasionally gets briefly into strange territory - hence this demo only hints at where this beast can go (every impulse response has a different character too). And turning all of the knobs can occasionally push it into instability - I will probably use fewer when I take it out for a real spin. More coming with this one in future patches, but in the interim, here's this trial demo..."

360 Systems Digital Keyboard Mk II (MIDI)

via this Vemia listing
Click the auction link on top when you get there for additional listings.

"360 SYSTEMS DIGITAL KEYBOARD Incredibly rare early 8-bit sample-based keyboard (1982-1984, only 200 made). This is the Mark 2 type, with MIDI. Excellent condition apart from light scratches on the wood panels. Comes with printed manuals (1st and 2nd editions), parts catalogue, service history (maintenance done since the current owner bought it in 2005 - and since then only played it in his home studio).
12 of the 16 voice sockets contain voice chips as follows: 1 Flute / 2 Gut String Guitar / 3 Bass Guitar / 4 Slap bass / 5 Electric Guitar / 6 Electric Piano / 7 Clavinet / 8 Saxophone / 9 French Horn / 10 Trombone / 11 Dark Trumpet / 12 Bright Trumpet.
All functions are working fine except for one problem: This is an 8-voice keyboard, but if you play more than 6 notes at once, the 7th note produces a distorted sound. It seems that the 7th out of the 8 voices is faulty (doubtless due to deterioration of a vital part - no physical damage has been done to this carefully used machine). If it can be fixed or muted, you will have an incredible instrument with rich, organic tones. In any event it is perfectly playable if you respect the current voice limitation.
LISTEN! You can hear the sound of this actual instrument (arpeggios played with all 12 voices from bottom to top of the keyboard) HERE: [embed above]
Quote from a well-known pro user: 'It sounds AMAZING, the only sampler with enough character to rival a Mellotron or Chamberlin. My favorite French horn patch of all time!'"

Dreadbox Murmux Adept: a Musical Exploration
video upload by Synth Universe
"A musical exploration of sounds and timbres featuring custom-created patches.
I think the Murmux Adept is a modern classic among analog poly synths, even though it was released as a limited edition in 2024 and is only attainable on the used market. It oozes quality and depth with a vintage analog sound and a strong personality. The oscillators, filters and analog stereo bucket brigade delay (BBD) interact to create a rich palette of timbres, with an inclination towards dark ambient textures."
"All sounds in this video are individual patches played straight from the synth except for ‘Alhaqueca’ and ‘Ambient layers’ which are layered tracks. No external enhancement or processing was applied to the sounds except on the track ‘Alhaqueca’ where I used a software delay plugin and a little compression and EQ when mastering."

The Crow Hill Company Introduces the THE SH*T SYNTH
The Sh*t Synth - Walkthrough video upload by CROW HILL XTRAS
Press release follows:
The Crow Hill Company turns to extensive and rare collection to turn out THE SH*T SYNTH as compendium of 48 circuit-, wave- and sample-bent instruments
EDINBURGH, UK: The Crow Hill Company is proud to turn to its own extensive and rare collection of hardware to turn out THE SH*T SYNTH — available as a compendium of 48 circuit-, wave- and sample-bent instruments inspired by some of the Edinburgh-based enterprise’s eclectic musical favourites (spanning the likes of Aphex Twin, Boards Of Canada, Joe Maus, Jon Brion, Laurie Spiegel, Radiohead, Throbbing Gristle, and Yazoo) to create something that they collectively ask: is it just shit or ‘the shit’? — as of April 7…
Whatever way anyone chooses to read into the titling of THE SH*T SYNTH as the latest entry into The Crow Hill’s ongoing ORIGINS series of sample-based virtual instrument plug-ins, one thing is for sure: it readily represents a broad selection of three categories of 16 workhorse instruments each, effectively wrapped up into a single plug-in designed to bring a cohesive approach to making music more edgy, lo-fi, retro, and — swimming against the technological tide of so-called progress — decidedly AI (Artificial Intelligence) slop-free. From pianos to strings, plucks, beeps, bass, and pads, the compendium that is THE SH*T SYNTH has been lovingly sculpted by the Edinburgh-based enterprise’s media composer and ‘samplist-in-residence’ Christian Henson to take the hassle out of making existing sounds less refined, catering to those looking for an entirely new bank of Mellotron-style sounds as well as synths that have been long forgotten — for good reason, too!

New module! Dual Retro Vco
video upload by Radical Frequencies Modular
"Listen the new Radical Frequencies Dual Retro VCO playing an arpeggio , showing all waveforms and making Pulse with modulation and Hard Sync between the vcos . It goes through the RF Mixer and then to Diode Dream Vcf as it suits this oscillator perfectly! #eurorack #modularsynth #radicalfrequenciesmodular #dualretrovco #drvco #diodedreamvcf #analogsynth"
"Handmade Dual VCO of discrete core capable of internal FM cross modulations - Hard sync and Ring Modulator
• Analog discrete saw core oscillators with Saw, Pulse, Triangle and Ring Modulation wave outputs. The sound is warm and fat, emphasizing odd harmonics for this big retro sound. My purpose here is to approach the sound of classic synths from 70s, that we all loved.
• The SAW wave produces rich bass frequencies, sweet mids and smooth highs but overall, it is still well balanced across the full frequency range. The Triangle wave is almost perfect in shape with no buzzy hum sound. The pulse wave can produce that chorus-like phasing effect, when using an LFO to modulate the PWM input and does so in a very unique way, as it changes the phase of the signal as well.
• Two identical VCOs : VCO ALPHA and VCO BETA, with the ability of hard sync as each VCO syncs internally with the other. Using the attenuator knob for SYNC, you can go from zero to soft sync(11-12 o’clock) to hard sync when the knob is fully CW. For syncing you just need to turn CW, the sync knob of the VCO you want to be the slave. Don’t open both the sync knobs at the same time unless you want to make some weird sounds.
• There are external sync inputs for each VCO as well. External oscillators can be used as masters, just feed the output of the oscillator of your preference, into the sync input or either ALPHA or BETA. Just remember to feed a saw or a square wave, into the SYNC input. This is very important in order to sync the oscillator. A ramp wave it will not sync at all! (The RF DPVCO for example is a ramp out VCO and if you want to use it as master you must invert the signal first.)
• Both ALPHA and BETA track 5 octaves accurately, tempco resistors are attached to the tuning ICs CA3046 on both VCOs.
Separate voltage regulators for each oscillator can achieve the best sounding results without drift or bleed pitch, between VCOs.
• Both VCOs go from a relative fast LFO range with the coarse tuning knob fully CCW, up to high frequency oscillation.
• Octave Switches of 3 positions: 1 octave down - , zero , 1 octave up +, are available and make patching, fast and intuitive.
• There are internal normalisations for exponential as well as linear FM and both have independent EXP FM and LIN FM, attenuators.
• You can select the wave for the internal FM buss via the front panel switches .Options are Triangle and SAW. The internal FM wave, is independent per VCO as well.
• There are also internal normalisations for PWM, where each VCO modulates the pulse width, of the other and both use the triangle waveform.
• There is a PW offset, per VCO - negative phase pulse width at CCW to + positive phase at CW and 50-50 duty cycle square wave, in the middle of the knob.
• Ring Modulation section is a separate feature where X and Y inputs are internally connected with the VCOs as well. It has 2 inputs, X and Ψ and one out, RM. The inputs are internally connected to the internal FM buss switch of triangle - saw selector.
VCO ALPHA is internally connected into Ψ input and VCO BETA, into X input. You can feed the RM inputs any wave you desire from other VCOs as well .
• An external patch cable breaks the normalisation of all internal connections, via input jacks. (EXP FM, LIN FM, PWM, SYNC, X Ψ)
• Important note about tuning : The vcos need at least 30 minutes warm up before using it for good tracking. Also when you have to tune the vcos it’s better the octave switches to be in the middle position and all the fm and sync knobs must be closed (CCW)
• Large range of sounds with countless sweet spots - ultra stable tuning for FM sounds by using the FM and SYNC knobs simultaneously - fat basses, classic leads and drones. Feed the DRVCO into a good filter and you will enjoy it as it was meant to be! The VCF that I suggest is the RF Diode Dream VCF as it is a ladder filter and suits it perfectly! Of course any other filter of your taste can be used with great results."

Digitone II features a 128-step sequencer—twice the length of the original Digitone's—enabling more complex patterns and compositions. The addition of Euclidean mode per track offers a fresh approach to sequencing, making it easier to generate evolving rhythms. With individual pattern length, time scale multipliers, and enhanced trig conditions, the Digitone II’s sequencing features are a leap forward from the original, giving you deeper control over your compositions.
Advanced Modulation and Effects:
The Digitone II builds on its predecessor’s modulation and effects capabilities, with three assignable LFOs per voice (up from two in the original) and added effects like digital overdrive, bit reduction, and sample rate reduction per voice. The inclusion of master effects like the stereo compressor and overdrive means you can fine-tune your final mix, while send effects like Saturator Delay and Supervoid Reverb add depth and dimension to your sounds."

Alien 303 V2 (MONO) vs. Alien 4DX (Binaural space 3D Sound) | Acid Evolution Comparison
video upload by G-Sonique
"Alien 303 V2 (MONO) vs. Alien 4DX (Binaural space 3D Sound) comparison
Is Mono Acid dead? 🛸 In this video, we compare the legendary Alien 303 V2 with the groundbreaking Alien 4DX Binaural Topology synthesizer.
While traditional acid synths are usually mono and "flat," the new Alien 4DX uses a special 3D binaural topology that emulates analog circuits and DSP chips to place the sound directly in a 3D/4D space around your head. No quadraphonic setup needed – just your headphones or 2 speakers.
What’s the difference?
Alien 303 V2: The classic, punchy, '2D' mono acid lead that defined a generation.
Alien 4DX: A massive, organic, and harmonically rich sound that fills the entire stereo field using psychoacoustic principles (time shifts, phase distortion, and frequency modulation).
Key Features of Alien 4DX:

Korg multi/poly - "Berlin Legacy" (40 Performances)
video upload by LFOstore
"Echoes from the golden age of electronic music — reborn with one of the most versatile modern synths! "Berlin Legacy" is a deeply evocative collection of 40 exclusive performances crafted specifically for the Korg multi/poly. This soundset channels the hypnotic spirit of the Berlin School — pulsating sequences that drive like unstoppable rhythms of time, soaring leads that pierce the atmosphere, and vast, breathing pads that fill the sonic horizon with analog warmth and digital precision!
Drawing inspiration from the pioneering works of Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze, these performances harness the Multi/poly's four-layer architecture, rich analog-modeled filters, powerful modulation matrix, and motion sequencing to deliver authentic retro-futurism with contemporary depth and playability.
A key advantage of this library: many sequences are designed as multi/split performances — the left hand triggers evolving, rhythmic sequences (classic Berlin-style arpeggios, driving basslines, or layered patterns), while the right hand plays expressive leads, melodic lines, or lush pads. This split/layer approach turns the multi/poly into a true performance powerhouse: one patch, two hands, infinite cosmic journeys.
All performances are heavily modulated — modulation wheel, velocity, 4 modulation knobs, and real-time controls add dynamic movement and expressiveness. From hypnotic, sequencer-driven grooves to ethereal, drifting soundscapes and cutting, melodic solos, "Berlin Legacy" bridges vintage analog soul with the Multi/poly's modern hybrid engine!

DiscoDSP Releases Retromulator Based on The Usual Suspects dsp56300 Engine
via DiscoDSP
[Note: although DiscoDSP gives credit to The Usual Suspects, it's my understanding TUS is not happy about it. From a forum:
"He basically took our source, put his own wrapper on it and is trying to sell it and use it to promote his own business. Can't prevent it, but frankly this is reprehensible IMHO.What isn't clear is whether the UI is just the player above or includes the full editors by The Usual Suspects. I'm hearing it's just the player, which in effect might be an upsell for the full editors by The Usual Suspects.
Yes. He knows he cannot legally "sell" it due to the licensing model our code is published under. Therefore he sells "support" of "his development efforts" to include difficult things like "git clone" and other Arcane and extremely difficult stuff. sigh... I'd strongly advise anyone using it not to actually pay him for it, but that is just my opinion.]
That said:
"Retromulator brings legendary hardware cores back to life through authentic low-level emulation. The virtual analog synths are powered by a faithful recreation of the Motorola DSP 56300 processor, the Yamaha DX7 runs a full emulation of its original chip set, and the Akai S1000 sampler plays your SF2, SFZ, and Bliss sample banks with studio-quality interpolation. Each core runs its actual firmware or sample data — delivering the unmistakable character of hardware that defined electronic music from the early 80s through the 2000s.
Unlike traditional software emulations that recreate synthesizer behavior by approximation, Retromulator emulates the original integrated circuits at the hardware level. The virtual analog synths run on a cycle-accurate Motorola DSP 56300, the Yamaha DX7 runs a full emulation of its Hitachi HD6303R sub-CPU and Yamaha YM21280/YM21290 EGS/OPS chip set, and the Akai S1000 sampler runs on the SFZero v3.0.0 engine with 8-point sinc interpolation supporting SF2, SFZ, ZBP, and ZBB sample banks. Each core executes its authentic firmware or sample data exactly as intended.
Load the ROM firmware from your own hardware or sample banks from your library, place them in the designated folder, and Retromulator takes care of the rest. The result is not an approximation — it is the real hardware running inside your DAW.
Retromulator is built on Gearmulator, an open-source synthesizer emulation project by the dsp56300 team. We are grateful for their extraordinary work in bringing these classic instruments back to life."

video upload by Sineway
"Syntakt firmware 1.40 just dropped - and yes, it plays samples now. But that's not the real story.
After spending serious time with this firmware, I found 7 power-ups that completely change what this machine is capable of. We're talking new oscillator colors, evolving morph engines, harmonic stacking with real instrument samples, character layering that captures the soul of your synths, track linking with analog filter routing, stereo filter panning, and performance upgrades that make jamming more intuitive than ever.
This isn't about drum one-shots. This is about what sampling unlocks for sound design, harmony, and musicality on a machine that already had serious creative depth.
All sounds in this video come from my own sample library recorded from my synthesizers — including the Novation Peak, Sequential Fourm, and Arturia AstroLab 37. The full sample pack and project files are available on my Patreon.
