Bob Moog's First Keyboard Instrument Ever Built Added to BMF Archives
via The Bob Moog Foundation
Meet The RENSITRON!
"Bob Moog's First Keyboard Instrument Added to the Bob Moog Foundation Archives
Bob Moog’s earliest known keyboard instrument, the Rensitron, now resides in the Bob Moog Foundation Archives! Bob built this small electronic organ in 1951, at only 16 years of age. His Bronx High School of Science teacher, Hymen Rensin, bought the instrument from Bob for $10 ($120 when adjusted for inflation)!
The Rensitron is a two-octave electronic organ, featuring vacuum tubes, hand-carved wooden mini-keys, and a built-in 5-inch speaker with a hand-made, stylized 'R' speaker grille, all encased in a slanted wooden cabinet. If you're wondering how someone so young could have designed this, Bob had already been dabbling in electronics since age ten! The 'chicken head' knobs on the front panel for volume, tone, and pitch are the same as those used on classic R.A. Moog synth modules, whispering hints about the world-changing instruments yet to come. Similarly portentous are two top panel labels, which read 'Rensitron' and 'Electronic Organ Made For Mr. Rensin By Robert Moog May 1951,' both of which use the same black Dymo Labeler tape as the early R.A. Moog modular systems.
Most notable up top are hand-crafted wooden keys with spring action, most likely made by Bob's father, George Conrad Moog, an engineer and woodworker. Some of the keys have less 'spring in their step' than others, but most still retain a very playable feel!
To learn more about the Rensitron and see more pictures, check out our blog post on moogfoundation.org!"

Bob Moog Foundation Archives Donation: Rare Moog Liberation Formerly Owned by Gary Wright
Pictured:
Gary Wright (left) and Casey Young performing on Moog Liberation "keytar" synthesizers
via The Bob Moog Foundation
Synth wizard Casey Young (Gary Wright, Yes, Madonna, TOTO, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner) recently donated a vintage, white Moog Liberation keytar synthesizer to the Bob Moog Foundation Archives. This rare instrument was used by Gary Wright in live and recorded performances, including the music video for the 1981 song "Heartbeat." Wright, who composed the 1976 hit song "Dream Weaver," personally gifted the synth to Young.
“Getting to work with Gary Wright was one of the best gigs I ever had.
He did so much to jump-start my musical journey.”
--Casey Young
We plan to fully restore the Liberation, which has been in storage for decades, to its former glory so that we can share this instrument at the Moogseum one day. None of our efforts are possible without the support of our donors. Please consider supporting the Foundation today so that we can restore and preserve this and many more historical vintage electronic instruments!
“We are honored by this very special donation to the Bob Moog Foundation Archives. Gary Wright’s Liberation is a part of synthesizer history. We are deeply grateful to Casey Young for this important donation, and we look forward to sharing this historical gem once it has been restored.” --Michelle Moog-Koussa
For an insider's insight on the design of the Moog Liberation, check out our one-on-one interview with former Moog Music designer Rock Wehrmann, available to read on moogfoundation.org.

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
video upload by moogfoundation
via this Reverb listing

"The Yamaha YC45D is a dual-manual analog combo organ from the golden age of stage gear, built to compete with the Hammond sound in a portable format… though “portable” is relative, as this beast was famously overbuilt for tone and durability. With lush vibrato/chorus, drawbar control, and punchy percussion voices, it became a favorite of gigging players in the ’70s and beyond.
This unit is in good, working condition. It does not include the original stand or pedalboard. Gray lid is included, shown in last image. Some surface scuffs and two notable nicks in the chassis (shown in images).
Key Features:
Dual 61-note manuals with percussion and sustain modes
9 drawbars per manual plus dedicated bass section
Vibrato and chorus with intensity and speed control
Bass and lead voice settings with real-time switching
Gray lid version
Condition Notes:
All keys, drawbars, switches, and functions work as expected
No pedalboard or stand included
Cosmetically light wear, good overall for its age
The YC45D has been used by everyone from Rick Wright (Pink Floyd) to Garth Hudson (The Band), and remains a favorite among collectors and retro keyboardists for its unique voicing and stage presence.
Please note: Due to its size and weight, this instrument is best suited for local pickup. Freight shipping may be arranged by the buyer (please contact us prior to purchase if you intend to have the item shipped).

"The Yamaha CP-30 is an analog electric piano from the late 1970s designed for portable stage use (inasmuch as our definition of "portable" has changed since then!), offering non-sampled, analog tone generation. Its rich stereo output, dual voice layering, and tremolo controls give it a unique character.
This unit is in excellent condition and works great.
It is being sold by the original owner!
Key Features:
76 weighted keys
Dual-layer voice stacking
Three piano presets and one harpsichord preset for each of the two layers
Stereo outputs, tremolo effects
Condition Notes:
Clean and complete: no missing knobs, switches, or panels
All voices and functions tested and working
Excellent physical condition with only minor wear
Though overshadowed by the CP-70/80, the CP-30 has found a second life among collectors, lo-fi enthusiasts, and vintage analog fans who appreciate its characteristic tone.
30% of proceeds benefit the Bob Moog Foundation."

"A rare and powerful dual monophonic synth from the early '70s.
Everything works great; very good condition for its age!
The Korg Maxikorg (also known as the DV800) is one of Korg’s earliest analog monsters, featuring two fully independent synth voices that can be layered, split, or run in duophonic mode. With rich oscillators, aggressive filtering, and a truly wild modulation section, this thing is a playground for experimental sound design, dirty basslines, and vintage leads.
Includes soft case in great shape, and is a perfect fit for this unit.
Highlights:
Two completely separate synth engines, each with its own VCO, VCF, VCA, and envelope
Kenton CV upgrade
Beautiful custom built dark walnut cabinet
Switchable mono, dual, or duet modes
Powerful resonant filters and per-voice modulation
Preset tone selectors with full manual override
Early Korg analog tone: warm, raw, and full of character
37-note keyboard
Famously used by Vangelis and The Who, the Maxikorg stands out for its unusual architecture and expressive possibilities. It’s a cult classic for collectors and sound designers alike.
30% of the sale supports the Bob Moog Foundation, preserving the legacy of analog innovation and inspiring future generations."

Cosmetic notes: small chip in wood veneer edge under keybed, and the mod wheel shows a bit of wear. Both of these issues are shown in the images.
Released in 1981, the Korg Mono/Poly is known for its four VCOs, flexible modulation options, and unique mono/polyphonic switching, making it a versatile beast for both fat unison leads and unique, syncopated arpeggios. Its cross-modulation, oscillator sync, and deep routing options open the door to wild textures and sound design experimentation.

4 analog VCOs with independent tuning
Mono, Poly, and Unison modes
Crossmod, oscillator sync, and flexible LFO routing
Built-in arpeggiator and chord memory
Classic Korg 24dB/octave low-pass filter
Full MIDI retrofit kits available (not included, but easily added)
Used by artists like MGMT, Chromeo, and Jimmy Edgar, the Mono/Poly is a staple of vintage synth setups and prized for its unique voice architecture and beefy tone.
This unit was serviced by Rosen Sound, a trusted name in analog synth repair, so it’s running great and ready for action. Includes a Tuff Case (light-duty) to keep it safe during travel or storage.
30% of proceeds will benefit the Bob Moog Foundation, helping inspire future synth pioneers and preserve electronic music history."

Erik Norlander's Farfisa Compact Duo CD/30 Dual Keyboard Organ
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this Reverb listing
"A rare vintage combo organ with that unmistakable Farfisa sound. Removable, fold-out bottom reveals fold-down legs (one or two screws missing but still functional) and hard-wired power cable. Cable connects to the external Farfisa F/AR unit which provides power and contains the spring reverb. This unit is functionally good but it could use some internal contact cleaning in a few areas. We coaxed some very usable tones out of it in the demo video! The case itself has been "well-loved," showing moderate surface scuffs from travel.
–
This is the Compact Duo CD/30, one of Farfisa’s higher-end models from the late ’60s; basically a two-manual version of the Compact with expanded voicing and richer tone-shaping options. A favorite among garage rockers, psych bands, and analog synth fans alike.
Features:
Two manuals (upper and lower keyboards) for split/layered playing
Vibrato, tone boost, and percussion controls
Bass and organ voices with classic Farfisa tabs
Mark I version
The Compact Duo was used extensively by Pink Floyd (Echoes, etc.); a favorite for its gritty tone and punchy presence on stage and in the studio.
30% of the sale supports the Bob Moog Foundation, preserving the legacy of electronic music and inspiring future generations."
