LZX Visionary Video Synthesizer - Audio Colorizer Demo
YouTube via lzxindustries — June 12, 2010 —
"In this patch an external security camera is recolorized using the Triple Video Fader & Key Generator (TVF) and Video Blending Matrix (VBM) modules. Two Video Waveform Generators (VWG) and a low-frequency signal from Doepfer A-143-1 serve as additional signal and modulation sources, while an external audio signal modulates the Sine Shape of one of the VWGs. One of the TVF's key output also frequency modulates the VWG. Intermittent grainy textures are due to the inferior camera source and unsync'ed VWG modulating the keyers. Manual tweaking throughout. LZX Visionary Demonstration - Hard Key Colorizer Patch
"lzxindustries — June 06, 2010 — This example demonstrates a classic colorizer patch with the LZX Visionary modular video synthesizer. Modules used include Video Sync Generator (VSG), Color Video Encoder (CVE), Triple Video Fader & Key Generator (TVF) and Video Blending Matrix (VBM). The TVF key inputs are fed external video from the Y output of the VSG, which is in turn locked to the output of a DVD player. The three key outputs of the TVF are then fed to the top inputs of the VBM columns A, B & C. The sum outputs of the VBM are then fed into the CVE Red, Green and Blue inputs. TVF bias knobs are adjusted to set the keying thresholds and VBM amount knobs are adjusted to select the color produced by each key output. No manual tweaking during the clip. The clip used is from Plague Dogs (1982)."

QuadBass++ drum trigger experiment
YouTube via bchris1776 — June 12, 2010 — "Proof of concept test #1...
Found this "Leapfrog Alphabet Drum" at a garage sale for $2...thought I might use it as a drum trigger for my Thomas Henry "Quad Bass++". This is the first experiment...
Wired a jack straight to the Piezo element under the drum head. Added a switch to mute the internal audio from the toy drum.
It powers down after not being used for about 30 seconds...does not affect the drum trigger I'm using, merely shuts off the internals (LED's and audio) which is a good thing. Might have to condition the triggering a little - as it is pretty sensitive to other vibrations.
Otherwise - It looks like it'll work."

three voltage controlled oscillators
(vintage buddha machine, drum toy and a 555 oscillator),
two 8 step analog sequencers
(synced to the same clock)
and a mini 3 input mono mixer
*step 7 LED is dead :'(
sorry for a bit delay and feedback
please leave a comment, i'd be very grateful
bent and made in thailand by hands
thanks for watching :) ขอบคุณครับ"

Harald Bode Exhibit - Brattleboro Vermont
Full details at the Brattleboro Reformer here
Some excerpts for the archive:
"St., presents a new exhibit, "Harald Bode, A Lifetime for Sound," which opens to the public on Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m., and runs through summer.
"A Lifetime for Sound" is a retrospective of physicist Harald Bode and his contributions to electronic music. This is a 50-year survey in image and sound recordings, documenting the contributions of Bode, one of the great pioneers of electronic sound.
Harald Bode (1909-1987) was an electronic musical instrument design pioneer. His career spanned 50 years of innovation. In 1937, he built his Warbo Formant electronic organ which had capabilities similar to those found in modern synthesizers....
In 1960, Bode presented his Modular Synthesizer and Sound Processor at the Convention of the Audio Engineering Society. With this landmark presentation, he ushered in the era of the analog modular synthesizer. Bob Moog was in attendance and inspired by Bode’s concept of the modular sound studio. This led to the development of the Moog Synthesizer...
The Bode (Moog) Vocoder (1977) was a particular success and is noted for its unique sound. It can be found on hit records of the era including the 1979 Lipps Inc., megahit, "Funkytown." Among the many artists who purchased the instrument were musician Michael Boddicker, who used it on Michael Jackson’s 1982 record-breaking album, 'Thriller.'"
