Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers in Studio

http://thechemicalbrothers.com/

Click the image for the super size shot. You'll see a giant E-Mu modular, Serge, Moog, Roland, Modcan, Metasonix and more. See if you can spot the EML Poly-Box and EMS Synthi Hi-Fli.

P.S.: If you check out "Kind Words On MATRIXSYNTH" you will see a quote from Tom. He was one of the first people to compliment the site.

"Thanks for that magnet. This morning I finally found a home for it - my Moog Taurus III arrived; this is it minutes after unpacking."

Cat stuck in organ

Cat stuck in organ by ununseptiumwarehouse
"I was wondering if anyone else had ever experienced the effects of having a cat stuck in a tonewheel organ. It made this hideous wail every time I hit a bum note (continuously)."

via Alan: "Just in case anyone anyone was ever under any doubt of the marvelous range of sounds one can elicit from the humble Casiotone 1000P early (pre DX7) additive synth." Well, almost... An update via Alan: "I have to hold my hands up and confess. It was going through a Doepfer A-125 VC Phase Shifter and then through an ancient Digitech BP8 (valve bass pre-amp & multi fx pedal). Apart from that though it was just the Casio and the cat!"

The Acedemy Cinema - EMS SYNTHI Art

via Raglani on Muff's, via Raglani on FB

"My friend Albert Kuo has been doing these hand painted, hand drawn "cards" lately. He made me one a few months ago.. I liked it so much I asked him if he has ever thought about doing it for commission.. I told him my three favorite obsessions and three days later he showed up with this piece framed!! Really blew me away and I thought others on here may want to have Albert do pieces for them.. The synthi and the EMS logo GLOWS IN THE DARK!!! is e-mail is.. kidakuo at gmail.com"

Waldorf MicrowaveXT Panel - WIP - Software Editor

via CTRLR.org

"Obviously still a work in progress but wanted to share what I've started - The challenge here was to provide a controller for every parameter on the waldorf XT including all those (quite a few) not controllable via the synth. Although there are lots of knobs on the actual synth there are even more parameters that can only be accessed via MIDI."

Chip Maestro - An NES MIDI Synthesizer Cartridge

"The Chip Maestro is a finished product up on Kickstarter, and it's seeking backers!
The Chip Maestro is a special NES cartridge that turns the NES into a synthesizer. You can play it using a MIDI keyboard or a USB to MIDI converter. By directly manipulating the NES CPU's sound circuitry, all sounds played through this cartridge are authentic NES tones! This is as realistic to the 8-bit era as you can get with live sound. Previous trackers have been able to play music, but all of them required pre-composition. This cartridge lets you do improvs and solos during live shows, or fiddle around with new tunes. I hope to get it into every chiptune artist's hands soon. Thanks for your support!"

Update via Jarek: "The advantage of the Chip Maestro over the MIDInes is its availability and price.

The Chip Maestro will support parameter changes to all sound channels of the NES. If you pledge at any level, you will get first look at the technical documents, and be able to propose changes/improvements that you would like, such as which parameter changes are important, and how they would be best implemented."

Shifting seasons

"This song is based again on a 2x8 note sequence from the Doepfer Dark Time with almost the same settings for the Waldorf micro Q. At about 0.50 there comes the Moog LP in with a LFO sweep of the moogerfooger CP251 (wich is connected to the cv-out of de DDT). At about 1.00 there the hands came in for chords produced with the Roland Juno 106 and a old piano sound from the Yamaha DX 27. Also the Korg Lambda is used. I called it ambient electro but may be you think otherwise. The title has to do with the fact that the weekend I made this track the temperature in the Netherlands was almost the hottest of whole Europe and it is just spring??"
