Propellerhead ReDominator Alpha Juno 1/2 Emulation
ReDominator Intro Published on Jan 14, 2014
"ReDominator is an emulation of the classic Alpha Juno 1/2 (JU-1/2), a polyphonic DCO (digitally controlled oscillator) based synth from 1986. The JU-1/2 became popular in the early 90's techno and rave scene particularly by the classic Hoover sound (which ReDominator attempts to emulate accurately). But beyond those niche sounds there lays a versatile synthesizer that does bass, pads, leads, organs and a lot of other sounds waiting to be discovered!

Low Pass G.A.S.

"A rough and loose comparison of six different low pass filters:

The basic patch was:
3 x MOTM-300 VCOs, PWM'd by a MOTM-380 LFO and pulse outputs into a STG Mixer, then to one of the VCF's and then to a MOTM-190 VCA. Two different MOTM-800's were used, one for the VCA and one for the VCF. Sequencer was a Moon Modular 569. On the first couple VCF's I also used a COTK C964 Ratchet Sequencer module and a third MOTM-800 into the VCF but, I forgot to use it on the last 3 or 4 VCF's! :-/"

New Nord Keyboard Coming to NAMM?
Currently on the Nord Keyboards site. My first thought was it could be the Nord Lead 4, but notice there are no ins or outs on the back. Why photoshop them out if it is the Lead 4? One rumor is this might be a controller. A new Nord Modular with dedicated iPad editor would be nice. :)

Analog Synth Resurgence Featured in Forbes Online
Forbes has an article up on the analog synth resurgence. The MacBeth M5N above gets the top image for the article, however other manufacturers are covered including KORG, Dave Smith Instruments, Arturia, Moog, Oberheim, and Buchla. Yamaha and Roland are referenced as well.
"Imagine if Tim Cook fired up the production lines and started churning out the Apple II instead of the latest Macbook Pro. The world would think he had gone barking mad. After all, what company in its right mind would decide to start rebuilding technology last manufactured in the 1970s?
But in 2013, that was exactly the business decision made by the bosses at Korg, a Japanese multinational corporation that is one of the world’s biggest musical instrument manufacturers. Rather than spend their R&D cash on developing a digital instrument of the future, they decided to start once again building an analog synthesizer called the MS-20, which was considered cutting edge when it was released in 1978 before being dismissed as worthless trash less than a decade later. Their gamble clearly worked, because the instrument sold out across the world. Now its competitors are widely tipped to be considering making the same move, with synth fans hoping that other Japanese giants like Yamaha and Roland will bring much-loved designs back from the pre-digital past..."

"An uber rare and unique multi effects box that was built to pair with the Microcon, but will work just as well with a Modular synth or other analog synth. For example, I was using this with a MiniBrute for a little while, which was a very nice combo.
This is a truly a high quality boutique unit in about the size of a thick VHS tape."
