KOMA Elektronik BD101 & FT201 effect pedals to be discontinued.

"BERLIN, GERMANY – December 13, 2017 – KOMA Elektronik GmbH today announced the discontinuation of the BD101 and FT201 effect pedals. KOMA plans to continue building a limited quantity of units while parts and materials last, which is not expected to be more than one month, after which the pedals will not be available anymore.

The BD101 Analog Gate/Delay and FT201 State Variable Filter / 10 Step Sequencer pedals were released in 2011 as the first two products put out by KOMA Elektronik and offer powerful and unique sounding effects for producers and electronic musicians.

Over the course of their seven-year existence, the BD101 and FT201 have gone through four production runs, including a 50 unit special black edition and a special edition for Scottish post rock band Mogwai. Their sonic signature can be heard on a ton of records, and its signature white enclosures can be found in top notch recording studios as well as on stage with amongst others electronic musicians Alessandro Cortini, Pole, Addison Groove, Henning Baer, RAC, Jimmy Edgar and more rock oriented musicians like Lee Ranaldo, Vessels, Chvrches and a bunch of noise music legends!

“Discontinuation is necessary, it gives us the peace of mind and financial runway to invest in our new products. We have a bunch of new machines with completely new designs lined up for release in 2018.” said KOMA’s CEO and product architect Wouter Jaspers. “The development process of the KOMA pedals has taught us a lot: not only how to make music machines, but also pointed us in the direction of the sound we think KOMA products represent and how to make those sounds as accessible as possible for the end user. A lot of this knowledge has gone into our latest products: the Field Kit and Field Kit FX. We will miss the pedals in our overall line-up for a bit, but we are sure what will come next will be super exciting!”

The BD101 & FT201 are still available in limited quantity from the KOMA Elektronik webshop at www.koma-elektronik.com and at stocking dealers while supplies last."

Aleph Patch V1

Published on Dec 12, 2017 Oren Levy

"My first attempt at recreating Todd Barton's Aleph patch on my Buchla system. I took some liberties to embellish the patch. By having the end of cycles trigger the opposing envelopes, you can hear a little bit of Krell.

Here is one of Todd's videos walking through the patch" [posted here]
