Echo/Vibrato/Chorus + Fuzz

Dark, warbly and tape-like. Dense modulating echo's. Thick, woolly tube-like distortion. Definitely NOT one of those sterile clean delays, but warm and full of character.

Consisting of a tape-like Echo unit (approx. 925ms max delay time) which, depending on the setting can also be used as Vibrato or Chorus. Along with the Echo effect there is also a thick and woolly Fuzz/distortion. Highly tweak-able with 8 knobs.

Along with the standard line level 1/4" inputs and outputs, the Cimmerian Caves V2 also has 1/8" modular inputs and outputs. These allow for the 'hotter' Eurorack signals to be used with the Cimmerian Caves, lowering the input to avoid distortion and raising the output level back to the hotter modular signal.

Cimmerian Caves works great with synthesizers and drum machines, but it also works perfectly well with guitar and bass!

#BURG1K session 6 - #KORGmonologue #volca - ambient landscapes

On this second track using the monologue I wanted to explore some more ambient soundscapes, dial the beats back and mainly work on getting a good feeling for the monologue and how it performs in the workflow. Also, letting the volca bass show its low end capabilities.. oh my does it rumble. You have to (with very big emphasis) listen to the track in proper headphones or speakers, else you will miss out on lots of the bass information.

The LFO is working the filter in the vBass, and also with the attack it bubbles pretty wildly, so there is a fair bit of envelope clicks here and there in the volca when notes come in, this is expected.

I have two patches stored in the monologue, standard vanilla 2x sawtooth + LFO on pitch to give it a slight vibrato. Only difference between the two is that the second one has VCO1 detuned a fifth.

The monologue is very easy to work with during the track, and this is one of the most important things when having a limited setup, e.g make sure to change the sounds often, work the controls to help give the tune some variation.

The looper replays a simple pre recorded monologue melody, which is then sent through the same FX.
