"The Kawai XD-5 is a percussion synthesizer based on the Kawai K4 sample playback + filter + AM amplifier modulation synthesis architecture. It is essentially a Kawai K4r with percussion waveforms, plus speeded up envelopes, gate mode and amplifier to better suit percussion sounds. Features include 32 digital oscillators each capable of using one of 256 available 16-bit waveforms, a digital filter with self resonance and 6 individual outputs."
You can find a video of a differently circuit bent XD-5 here.

"I purchased this ESQ-1 brand new in the box from Skip's Music in Sacramento in 1987. I'm not a keyboard player per se, but I had a lot of fun making songs with the sequencer to accompany my other instruments. This keyboard has never giged or used in any location than my homes. Since it was an auxillary instrument for me, it didn't get played much over the years and none for the last 13 years, so it's in about as good condition as you could ever hope to find. About a year or two ago I installed a new Panasonic battery, as the original battery became dead. The keyboard powers up normally, all of the functions work perfectly and the keys are not chipped, cracked, broken or even worn. Aside from a few small scuffs, it's super clean. I always kept a dust cover over it.
Happily, it comes with 12 original ensoniq sound cartridges (very rare) and they all work. I've included a printout of the lists of sounds on each cartridge. It comes with the start/stop pedal, power cord, and two extra MIDI cords as well as the original paperwork and cassette tape. I seem to have misplaced the owner's manual, but it's available online for free. You can also have the keyboard stand that I bought last year."

Is Behringer's WASP Deluxe a Clone of a Clone?
Thought this was interesting. Take a look at the front panels.

The top is the original EDP WASP Deluxe. The middle is the Jasper clone.
The bottom is the Behringer WASP Deluxe.
Note the knob layout for each.
Clone of a clone? Depends on the internals. Reminds me of the original Technology Transplant (Cyclone Analogic) TB-303 and x0xb0x clones - see this post. This is also worth a read.
Update: Note the ENV hold switch, ENH waveshape in the oscillator section, and Noise level knob on the Jasper & Behringer clones. They are in the exact same locations yet completely absent on the original. These were introduced in the Jasper.

SonalSystem Presents: NOIR - Presets for Continua
Audio Damage’s new Continua Virtual Analog Synthesizer [announced here] has broken through wavetable ubiquity in creating a modern synth with highly controllable waveform morphing at the center of its architecture and workflow. This synth opens inventive new doors for creatives moving in the must-be-unique design space. That is our space.
COMPLEX ROUTINGS
Enter SonalSystem NOIR, a collection of 80 original presets created specifically for Continua. These presets are custom crafted for Continua’s focus on super smooth waveform morphing and sophisticated yet accessible modulation. We designed these presets to deliver ingratiating sounds however they are modulated, through the oscillators, filters and effects, and even as you tweak the parameters of the modulators themselves.
FROM CINEMA TO ALBUM
Our presets satisfy a spectrum of sound styles for designers with varied proclivities. Entertain your penchant for ambient environments. Get raucous with heavy hitting industrial styles. Commence a new cinematic chronicle. Indulge the tastes of electronic slow-burn. As you further engage the virtually endless morphing capabilities, you’ll come upon diverse sounds destined for integration into your next sonic showpiece.
ULTIMATE EXPRESSION
NOIR is MPE ready and pre-mapped for users with MPE capable controllers. This technology allows virtually every iteration to be dimensionally altered in real time, resulting in an expressive array of disarming and insinuating sounds. By “playing” each note, each preset awakens in a deeply imagistic way as your creation becomes increasingly indicative of your own personality.
*NOIR is available in iOS and PC versions. These 80 presets work in Continua with or without an MPE controller.
Tech Specs:
80 Premium presets for Audio Damage's Continua
Complex routing schemes of LFO, S&H, and Macros for evolving sounds
Categorized by type: Bass, Drones, Leads, Motion, and Pad
Enhanced sound manipulation with MPE mappings.
