NAMM 2023 - Verbos - Real World Interface

"Mark Verbos from Verbos Electronics has unveiled their latest product, the Real World Interface, at the NAMM show in 2023. Designed to allow sounds from the outside world to be integrated into a system, the module includes internal microphones, and accepts any kind of signal that can be patched before the preamps. It includes an envelope follower and a gate extractor on the outside channels, a preamp followed by an automatic gain control, compressor, a fundamental extractor, tracking low pass filter, and a locked oscillator and pitch CV extractors on the center channel.

The Real World Interface module allows monophonic external sounds to be sent through the center channel, with the locked oscillator following along on the pitch of those sounds. The CV coming out could be used to make another oscillator track along with that. The Real World Interface also allows for interesting dynamics processing with an envelope follower and a VCA, and other classic external processing patches like using the envelope follower to change the filter cut off.

NAMM 2023 - Endorphin.es - Golden Master - Ghost

"Andreas from Endorphine.es introduced us to two new pedals - the Golden Master and the Ghost . Ghost is a pedal that's developed from their original Eurorack module. It's a multi-dimensional effect processor designed for guitars and synthesizers. With three footswitches and nine presets. The pedal has primary and secondary values each with its own settings that are shown on a second page with different colour LEDs. Modulation can be assigned to any parameter, including the distortion or the filter, enabling multiple modulations. The pedal has full MIDI I/O, with every knob having a CC value and the delay able to receive or send MIDI clock.

The Golden Master has a multiband processor with compressor, EQ and mid-side processing with a similar sound to the original Eurorack module. With six routing sequences and a stereo enhancer for each of the three bands, the module has full MIDI I/O, with the delay able to receive or send MIDI clock. With nine presets and the ability to save quickly. The Golden Master is easy to operate, and Ghost was designed with the collaboration of Andrew Huang.

NAMM 2023 - Polyend - Tracker Mini

"Polyend has launched its latest product at NAMM 2023, the Tracker Mini, a more powerful and efficient version of the original Tracker. Alison from Polyend describes the new product as a portable DAW with a microphone on board, allowing users to record their samples on the fly. The Tracker Mini features upgraded hardware, a built in battery with around eight hours of battery life, and more memory than the original Tracker. It also includes stereo samples, better clock stability, lower latency, and is more efficient.

The Tracker Mini is small and portable, and allows users to easily crop, edit, save, and load their recorded samples into their projects. The Tracker Mini also includes a micro-move function, randomization effects, and typical effects processing like multi band filtering, delay, reverb, and bit crushing, all at note-level.

NAMM 2023 - Instachord - Midi Instrument

"Daisuke Suwa introduced us to Instacord, a MIDI instrument that has 128 instruments built-in, allowing you to play various instruments such as the piano, guitar, and strings with just the press of a button. It comes with its own speaker and headphone jack output so you can play without needing an amp or a computer. It also has a USB out that doubles as a connection to your computer, and it's rechargeable with 10 hours of battery life.

The Instachord is both an instrument and interface and is designed to be used by musicians or beginners learning an instrument but without the long practice and sore fingers. New features, including a looper are being added, and the instrument will be supported with ongoing upgrades.
