"Hey there! Here is an intro of how to use the Cosmos, a pretty crazy eurorack module, a patch programming interface or platform, as I like to call it, from Black Noise Modular. It does so many things that I'm just going to show you a few that enjoyed the most.
It is a very deep and complex module but that encourage experimention by trial and error in a very nice way, there's two input and a lot of outputs to choose from.

"Tuesday was a procedural sequencer, introduced around 2017. It was forced into history because of the Covid-19 part shortage. Fortunately TiNRS decided to revive it because it's a super handy 'patch buddy' when time is short and you're facing a composer's block. NextTuesday is faithful to the original but adds a root knob and a second quantized 'mod' output.

Procedural sequencing means it's a bit like a jukebox or radio station. It has 14 built in algorithms and each algorithm can 'walk' a map of melodies like Mutable Grids did for rhythm. You can use X/Y coordinates to navigate the map and ! controls the note density. There's clock/reset to sync other gear, and master 'ticks' for ticks, beats and end of loop. These are super useful as masterclocks and triggers (e.g. synced delay, etc).

Procedural sequences may give you the impression that you're stuck with factory melodies. And that's true. But it's fun to accept the limitations and expand from there. After all, it's modular, and Tuesday is a great day for patching."

FVS vs reSEMble Nov 2023

"Another demo of the PM Foundations reSEMble, four of them (https://www.tindie.com/stores/pmfound....) This time, I've duplicated a patch on the FVS and the reSEMbles. I was going to do a dry video but figured I'd do a little tune. At the beginning you can see my left hand playing the FVS while the right hand plays the reSEMbles, and since they alternate for a brief time, you can compare the two instruments. Together they sound amazing! I imagine this is what it's like to play a dual manual eight voice. There are also some ARPs, a Rhodes, a Kurzweil K2600XS, and an Alesis SR16 adding support."

Tech Thursday | Hold Modulation with Filter 8

"It's Tech Thursday! In these concise videos, we bring up some overlooked and advanced features of our modules.

This week's Tech Thursday is all about Filter 8's hold feature. When you enable the hold switch, Filter 8 'freezes' its filter core.

This can be gate controlled using the hold input. Turn the hold modulation up to the audio range and you'll get sync-like effects. The hold input features Schmitt action, meaning it can be driven by just about any signal you can throw at it.
