The Access Virus Has Been Discontinued

According to Amazona.de, the Access Virus has been officially discontinued.

Google translated:

Many people have already suspected it: Access mastermind Christoph Kemper has confirmed to us that the Access Virus TI2 has no longer been produced for a few months. There were many clues, as the last Access Virus TI2 series was released in 2009. The Virus TI2 series included the Polar, Snow, Darkstar and Desktop models. Nothing new has been heard from Access Virus Synthesizer since then. The TI2 has been available for all these years and disappeared from shops in the last few months. Only power supplies and rackmounts can be found on the Access Virus website.

The move away from Access Virus could have something to do with the fact that Christoph Kemper discovered his love for amp propiling in 2011 and released the first Kemper Amp, which is still a complete success today. Despite this success, Access had a stand at Superbooth 2018 and we were able to ask Christoph Kemper about plans for new synthesizers.

Christoph Kemper confirmed that he is still interested in synthesizers, but is currently at full capacity with the Kemper amps. It became clear that his company did not have the capacity to develop Kemper amps and Access synthesizers at the same time. In the interview it was suggested that there might be an Access Virus TI3, but he didn't want to specify."

Improvised TECHNO SET! 👊💥

video upload by Electronisounds Audio

"I made this set for Clownfest 10 (online music festival).
Entire Festival is here: / @pierrottheacidcl...

*This entire set is completely improvised.*

It took a lot of work, trial and error and practice to come up with this Eurorack techno setup.

The main melodic sequencer is a "Precision Disrupter" from Anti-Kulture, which is what allows me to keep changing the bassline to random new, awesome patterns whenever I want to (and then alter and play with those patterns in real time as well) - YAY!

Being able to add some midi synced arpeggios and "FX goodies" from the Virus Darkstar is the icing on the cake in this setup! I'm running it's audio directly into the big system, through a Circuit Abbey "Gozinta" to bring the line level up to Eurorack level, then into the Erica Synths Variable VCF so I can filter the sounds in and out of the jam! I love the character the Erica filter brings to the Virus sound - Niiiiiiiiice!

Whatever kind of music you are making - KEEP IT UP, Friends!
Don't stop making *YOUR MUSIC*!!"

RedSound eleVAta Rare quirky digital mystery synth

video upload by HanzVolt

"I fell in love with the quirky sound of a RedSound synthesizer in 1999 when I purchsed a new Red Sound DarkStar...The DarkStar required patience to dial up sweet spots, but they were certainly there. A few years later I discovered that they created another machine in '01....
'the eleVAta'
Only 250 were ever produced...
.....and good luck trying to find a decent video of one on the interweb :))"

Classic Chilled Beats with Polyend Play and Virus Darkstar

video upload by Electronisounds Audio

"This week, I had the idea to get two things done at once:

Make a jam for the HWJ Facebook group, and at the same time, have a play around with a sample pack from my friend, Vortex over at Mobile Music Pro.

I'm judging a mix contest this week for this sample pack, so I thought I should get to know it better by making something with the samples myself!

The FREE sample pack: https://mobilemusicpro.com/pages/esse...

This week's HWJ (Hardware Jams) challenge theme was "TWO BOXES".

I picked the Polyend Play and Virus Darkstar as my two boxes and off I went to make a jam!

I got carried away though (Hahaha), and ended up programming out and arranging a full, finished track using the Play's sequencer and song mode. So, at the end of the day - this became a TRACK, not a JAM on any level, so I won't actually be submitting it to the weekly HWJ challenge this week.

**BONUS**: I learned how to send program changes over midi from the Play to the Virus to change presets during the track! SWEET!

Jam (track finished on) Date: 07/17/2022
Tempo: 124bpm
Key: Fminor Pentatonic (Yes, AGAIN! lol)

Whatever kind of music you are making - KEEP IT UP, Friends!
Don't stop making *YOUR MUSIC*!!"

AudioPilz - Synths - Bad/Better Gear

Bad Gear - Yamaha CS1x - Not Exactly My Thing video by AudioPilz

Just discovered this series. Above is the latest video featuring the Yamaha CS1x. Below is a playlist of previous videos in the series. I'm guessing the CS1x will be added. P.S. I actually own a CS1x and SU10 so it's kind of fun seeing them paired in this video. The CS1x is all ROMpler but it does have some nice icy strings. It has a bright digital character about it - like it's permanently run through a glassy sounding reverb.

Playlist (enjoy, or not - use the controls on the bottom left or upper right of the player to skip around):
