Flower feedback using the Stereo Field

video upload by Landscape

"Using the Stereo Field feedback instrument/processor/controller with a flower in place of human skin. The shape of the flower allows for different feedback paths within the instrument providing different results based upon where the flower is touching and how much the petals are making contact. Different flowers will provide different results. You could even process external audio through the flower itself."

TR-606 ✺ into touchable stereo feedback ✺✺

"By patching a mono input into the rear of the Stereo Field while patching across the interface you can turn a mono signal into stereo feedback. Both audio and voltage will be routed through your skin when touching the interface creating many audio responsive feedback paths. The response changes based upon your skin's moisture content, where you decide to touch and how much skin is touching the interface."

12- The UDO Super 6- Envelopes Part A

video upload by AutomaticGainsay

"Here is part one of a two-part exploration of the sound and functionality of the UDO Super 6 Envelopes.

The theme for this demonstration was recorded by multitracking the UDO Super 6 in order to provide the various parts necessary. No external equalization or effects were used. The drums were created through programming the Korg Triton LE and processing the results through the Landscape Stereo Field.

01-The UDO Super 6-Performance Video

video upload by AutomaticGainsay

"Here is a compositional demonstration of the UDO Super 6, wherein all synthesizer sounds come from the UDO Super 6, and are shown individually in each section. The song is an original composition, with most parts improvised.
After the song, each individual part is demonstrated so that the listener can hear the unique and desirable tone in its binaural context.
The drums were programmed on the Korg Triton LE, and processed in realtime with the Landscape Stereo Field."

PPG wave 2.3 cold winter soundscapes

synthlegends

"By pure chance I got a PPG wave 2.3 for a very fair and decent price. The appearance was not very nice, a lot of scratchs on the cover and dirt inside. But I cleaned it and made some paint work, so now it looks beautiful again.

Also the keyboard was broken. I played my PPG via Midi with a master keyboard. That is why I decided not to shot a video while playing. Sorry that I show only some personal footage of winter shots of our beautiful landscape riding with a friend on my bike or walking with kids in with a lot of snow to describe the coldness of the PPG, Of course I added a lot of cool pictures of my new blue baby.
Now the PPG is in service, gets a new fatar keyboard, refurbishment and a new power supply unit plus new display from synthtaste (www. Synthtaste.com).

I never thought that I will ever purchase a PPG and now I am so happy to own one. Most of my favourite albums in the 80ies consisted this undistinguishable sound, like Power Windows from Rush, Worlds Apart from SAGA, Welcome to the pleasuredome from FGTH.

The PPG 2.3 was the latest of all PPG wave (produced from 1984 until 1989). Around 400 units must have been built. The forerunners were the PPG wave 2.0 with only one oscillator and CEM filter chips (1981), after that the PPG wave 2.2 with two oscillators and SEM Filter chips. The wave 2.3 is with 16 bit sample rate instead of 12 bit and is also multitimbral with midi.

The PPG is really one of my favourite synths beside my beloved Sequential Circuits Prophet VS and my Modal Electronics 002 which imitates the PPG quite well.

I have also a John Bowen Solaris with alle waveforms form the PPG, but it isn't the same thing of course. The PPG has its own unique sound because of its decent filter and musical aliasing.
This demo is just recorded, when my PPG arrived. I just tweaked the sounds, went through some wavetables and played everything life without any fx or mastering directly with two audio mono outs to generate a stereo track in my DAW. Please notice that I also used the stereo knob to enhance the stereo field.

I will surely make more videos from my PPG as soon I get it back refurbished.

Cheers and take care, Rüdiger"

Gestures on Sidraw

Meng Qi

"Sidraw is an experimental electronic instrument, based on Ciat-Lonbarde Sidrazzi circuit board, and my interface experiments.

There is a way to design electronic musical interface, which is not to consider sound parameters, but to think from the angle of circuit interference, I call it 'Circuit Expression'.

It can be seen on various experimental electronic musical instruments. From the Crackle Box by Michel Waisvisz back in 1970s, to the new Landscape Stereo Field and Martin Howse Dark Interpreter. UK synth designer Tom Bugs also had been utilizing them in the Weevil series of work. I've commissioned a special version of Chirper from Tom Bugs, which may have pushed the release of Board Chirper model a year later.
This method has a lot to do with circuit instability, touch and feedback. by touching selected circuit nodes, new connections are made, circuits behaviors are affected.

On sound output, it may result in a complex change on a combination of sound parameters (loudness, pitch, timber), and expressive reactions can be found.

I've found expressive behaviors from touching specific parts in Sidrazzi circuit, thus Sidraw is born.

Sidraw

The Sidraw made its first appearance back in December of 2019.

The Galaxy Electric - Cosmic Tape Music

Keep the rockets fueled:
https://www.paypal.me/thegalaxye?fbcl...

This is the second installment of a series of improvised modular synth performance mixed with pop elements - female vocals and mellotron.
These elements combined with a tempo synchronized looping technique provide a rich sonic landscape of cosmic texture inspired by the early electronic and tape music innovators. This music is especially inspired by Space Age era electronic music or cosmic tape music. The effects are spring reverb, delay and the occasional reversing and pitch shifting of the recorded phrase. Our goal is to combine analog and digital technology to recreate this early electronic music tonal variety in an improvised setting.

Buchla Music Easel
