Erica Synths Perkon // Beats From Scratch

"In this live stream Matthew (aka EZBOT ) from Patchwerks gives us a thorough overview of the Erica Synths Perkons and makes some beats from scratch.

Perkons HD-01 is a device with four voices that can create hybrid sounds using both digital and analogue technology. Each voice has eight controls and can be triggered by drum pads with variable sensitivity. There are separate outputs and effects for each voice, and you can save up to 64 kits and patterns on the device, with more storage available on an SD card. The device also includes a delay and compressor, as well as an LFO for modulating sounds. It has a four-track sequencer with different timing options and probability controls, as well as MIDI inputs and outputs for connecting to other devices.

"In this live stream Mario Hernandez from Elektron and Matthew Piecora (aka EZBOT) will be diving into every new feature and machine in the NEW Digitakt OS 1.50 release.

- Added sample playback enhancements by implementing sample playback machines that add features such as warping and sample slicing.
- Added Sample Rate Reduction functionality that can be routed either post- or pre-filter.
- Decreased the encoder sensitivity when changing MIDI parameters.
- Improved the filter type switching to reduce the amount of unwanted audio artifacts that could occur.
- Added the functionality to record loops based on the current BPM when sampling or re-sampling.
- Previewing a sample or a recording while on a MIDI track is now possible by letting it be previewed on the neighboring audio track.
- It is now possible to access Quick mutes and activate FILL mode when in GRID RECORDING mode.

The Touché touch controller, from Expressive-E, is a whole new way to control both software and hardware instruments. Touche is a highly sensitive controller with pressure and direction both adjusting the outputted control signals. It contains four CV outputs for connecting to modular gear such as Eurorack equipment, or other desktop synthesizers, as well as a 5-pin MIDI output when paired with their converter cable. Touche can be used to control external gear, or be paired with the Lié software counterpart. Presets can be easily recalled within the Lié software. With Touché, many new expressive techniques can be explored."
