Prophet VS Demos & a Look Inside by Dave Bellamy

Published on Oct 18, 2018 Dave Bellamy

Playlist:

1. Prophet VS arpeggiator and lead sound (bight and LOUD).
The pretty unique Prophet VS when it was working.
It had a nice arpeggiator with Assign mode which I find ten times more useful than the standard uop and down modes.
Here is a little string type lead sound on top of the arpeggiator: the same sound as the arpeggio but brighter because the notes are more sustained. This synth could be searing, bright and loud and at other times really quite subdued. The waveform was a strings waveform on all 4 oscillators if I recall correctly.
It' is (was, becaus it's now broken) a bitimbral synth but this is in 8 voice monotimbral mode with notes overlaying the arpeggio.
2. Sequential Prophet VS Curtis filters resonance demo after raspy strings sound.
Sequential really, rather than Sequential Circuits, Prophet VS. Raspy string sound and then crazy filter resonant bubbles sound. Curtis analog filters, digital oscillators playing single cycle sample waves, so this was a hybrid synthesizer in the true sense. Definitely showing the harsher element of the VS sound!
3. Sequential Prophet VS - first look inside this Analog/Digital hybrid vector synthesizer.
Sequential Prophet VS - first look inside this Analog/Digital hybrid vector synthesizer, after most of the dust was cleaned out!
Video file: PA180371.
Similar to the other videos - but this one shows a possible crack developing in the left hand circuit board near the data slider.
4. Sequential Prophet VS electronics: Curtis CEM chipset 3360, 3365, 3379, 5510 & 5530.
Quick tour of the Curtis chip set on the circuit boards of a Sequential Prophet VS synthesizer. Chips shown: CEM 3360 (VCA), 3365 (DAC, x2), 3379 (VCF, x8), and sample and hold ships CEM 5510 (x4) and 5530 (x2).
Synth needs repair, otherwise pretty decent condition (no data slider knob); it worked for 18 years for me.
This is after most of the dust was cleaned out! I couldn't even read the numbers on the chips when I first opened it this morning.
Video file: PA180381
5. Sequential Prophet VS interior electronics inc. VCFs and VCA - synth currently needs repair.
Quick tour of the interior and circuit boards of a Sequential Prophet VS synthesizer, showing various parts including most of the Curtis chip set used in this synth. Synth needs repair, otherwise pretty decent condition (no data slider knob); it worked for 18 years for me.
At around 1:00, I mentioned the 4 CEM 5510 S&H chips; actually that's the right number of those! There are no nice arty designs or illustrations on these boards like there were on the Prophet-10 for instance (see DSI studio and office tour with Carson here on YT).
This is after most of the dust was carefully cleaned out of this synth! I couldn't even read the numbers on the chips when I first opened it this morning.

Quick Tip: Rhythmic Pattern With A Eurorack Sequential Switch Tutorial

Published on Mar 5, 2019 Perfect Circuit

"This quick tip explains how to make a rhythmic pattern with a eurorack modular sequential switch.

Modules you will need:
- a sequential switch
- a clock (for clocked sequential switches) or an LFO or sequencer (for voltage controlled sequential switches)
- multiple sound sources

The patch:
- sound sources to inputs of sequential switch
- either sequencer to voltage control input of sequential switch
- or clock to clock input of sequential switch
- sequential switch output is your rhythmic pattern.

You can vary your pattern by modulating or manually tweaking the input sounds, or changing the order they are plugged into the switch in. You can leave inputs of the switch with nothing plugged in if you want spaces in your pattern. If you are using a voltage controlled switch like in the video change your sequencer pattern to change your rhythm pattern.

You could even experiment with making melodies this way by patching multiple pitched sound sources into the switch."

Dave Smith Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Prophet-5 Poly Synth

Famed Instrument Designer Celebrates 40 Years Since Debut of Industry-Changing Poly Synth

San Francisco, CA—August 31, 2018—In a private event held in historic North Beach, San Francisco, Dave Smith and a group of music industry friends, insiders, and artists today celebrated the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5—the world’s first fully-programmable polyphonic synthesizer. To mark the occasion, Smith announced that Dave Smith Instruments has rebranded itself as “Sequential”—re-embracing the name and legacy of Smith’s original, pioneering electronic instrument company.

Founded by Smith in 1974 as “Sequential Circuits,” the original incarnation of the company forever changed music technology with the advent of the Prophet-5, which broke new ground as not only the first polyphonic synthesizer to enable players to store and recall presets, but also as the first musical instrument with an embedded microprocessor.

The instrument debuted at the 1978 Winter NAMM show to a largely astonished audience of musicians and industry competitors such as ARP, Moog, and Oberheim, who comprised the bulk of a market almost exclusively made up of a very few pioneering American companies. The instrument featured 5 voices and a 5-octave keyboard with a case crafted out of figured koa wood. The enclosure housed a straightforward, knob-based interface/voice architecture that musicians could easily grasp: two hard-syncable oscillators with simultaneous triangle, sawtooth, and pulse waves, a robust 24 dB per-octave, resonant low-pass filter, individual 4-stage envelopes for filter and amplitude, and the innovative Poly Mod section that provided simple-yet-powerful modulation capabilities.

Manufactured from 1978 to 1984 with an initial price of $3995 (about $15,000 in today’s dollars) the Prophet-5 proved so successful that its sound not only defined popular music for years, but its design provided the blueprint for what a poly synth could be. Virtually every major artist of the period used the Prophet-5 on stage or in studio, while its iconic sound provided the backbone of countless songs.

Dave Smith described the early days of the Prophet-5: “The demand for the Prophet-5 was incredible. For the first several years we simply couldn’t keep up. Artists and their management would call our offices begging us to sell them whatever we had. It was a crazy time.” As analog synthesizers gradually gave way to cheaper digital instruments in the 1980s, Sequential eventually phased out the Prophet-5. The final unit to roll off the production line is still owned by Smith.

The company ceased operations in 1987 and its name (shortened to “Sequential” in the mid-1980s) and assets were acquired by Yamaha. Smith went on to consult for Yamaha and Korg, developing the Wavestation and other ground-breaking instruments.

When Yamaha returned the Sequential name to Smith in a gesture of goodwill in 2015, Smith and company created a successor to the original instrument in the form of the Sequential-branded Prophet-6, a 6-voice re-imagining of the Prophet-5 with an all-analog signal path and discrete VCOs and filters. Not surprisingly it has proved to be as popular with musicians as its legendary predecessor. In an era filled with digital emulations of vintage instruments, Smith says he’s not surprised: “To me, a hardware synth has a soul. It inspires you to interact with it in a musical way that I often find lacking in software instruments and many all-digital instruments. Judging from the enduring success of the Prophet-5 and Prophet-6 and their successors, a lot of people feel the same way. That’s very gratifying.”

Regarding returning to his roots, Smith had this to say: “It’s amazing that this month marks the 40th anniversary of the Prophet-5. It’s such a landmark achievement that I felt it was the right time to fully restore the Sequential brand and bring our journey full circle. The name change also reflects the fact that our instruments are the result of a team effort. It’s not just me, it’s the entire company.” He continued: “We have the same excitement and enthusiasm for making inspiring instruments as we did when the Prophet-5 was first created. Sequential is back. And we’re better than ever.”

Sequential Delivers 32 New Wavetables, 128 New Sounds for Pro 3 Multi-filter Mono Synth

via Sequential

"San Francisco, CA—July 9, 2021— Sequential today released a major enhancement to their acclaimed Pro 3 multi-filter mono synth — a full set of 32 new wavetables that significantly expand its sound palette. As a hybrid instrument, the Pro 3 features two VCOs plus a third, digital wavetable oscillator. The new wavetables are derived from an eclectic collection of sources including the Fairlight IIx, a vintage Sequential Circuits TOM drum machine, dual TAU 20-stage phasers, a boutique Frequency Shifter, an Equinox EQ Phaser, and classic 90’s-era Turbosynth sound design software. Also included are a selection of heavily processed acoustic instruments such as Chapman Stick and human voice.

To showcase the new wavetables, Sequential is also providing an all-new bank of 128 sounds that put the wavetables to use. Each sound in the set includes, extensive modulation routings, effects setups, and its own accompanying sequence to demonstrate the sound in context.

The new wavetables and sound bank are available for download free of charge on Sequential’s website.

“Our whole concept behind the Pro 3 was to make it the deepest, best-sounding, most endlessly creative mono synth you’ll ever own,” said Sequential founder Dave Smith: “And by continuing to expand its capabilities with new wavetables, new sound banks, and new software features like Patch Morphing, we’re not only keeping it fresh, we’re keeping firmly at the leading edge of hybrid synths. There’s no other way to say it: the Pro 3 is a beast.”

A hybrid instrument, the Pro 3 features three classic analog filters (Prophet-6, OB-6, and ladder) and three oscillators (two VCOs and one wavetable oscillator) along with a 16-track sequencer, and the ability to connect with modular synths through its four control voltage ins/outs. The feature set is rounded out with a multimode arpeggiator, three LFOs, four loopable ADSR+delay envelopes, dual digital effects (delays, reverbs, and various time-based effects), tuned feedback, analog distortion, and extensive modulation possibilities. The synth is also capable of 3-voice paraphonic operation.

Sequential is offering two versions of the Pro 3, the standard edition, and the Pro 3 SE, a special edition that puts the same synthesis power into a collector-worthy design with a tilt-up control panel and premium-grade walnut trim.

The Pro 3 standard edition has a US MAP of $1,599.

The Pro 3 SE has a US MAP of $2,099.

Patchhero - An Extra Screen for the Sequential OB6 & Prophet 6

Note this is a 3rd party app, and not a Sequential product.

"Patchhero is the missing screen for your Sequential OB6 or Sequential Prophet 6 synthesiser; allowing you to navigate, name, categorise, and filter patches.

The Sequential OB6 and Sequential Prophet 6 synthesisers are contemporary instruments inspired by vintage counterparts. Specifically the Oberheim OB series of the 1980s and the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 of 1978.

Consistent with this heritage, both instruments have only simple numerical displays. Hidden in the patch data are patch names and patch sound categories. The numerical displays are unable to show this information.

Many musicians find descriptive patch names more memorable and inspiring than numbers. When auditioning sounds it’s helpful to organise them by sound category.

Patchhero is the missing screen for the Sequential OB6 and Sequential Prophet 6 synthesisers; allowing you to navigate, name, categorise, and filter patches.

Connect using the Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter via direct USB or via a USB MIDI interface. Connect wirelessly with Bluetooth, using a Bluetooth MIDI adaptor. Connect with Wi-Fi, using RTP-MIDI over a shared network.

Please see the user manual for a list of supported devices."

Prophet-6, a winner's heritage / la herencia de un ganador

In the purest style of Dave Smith, Prophet-6 is a tribute to the classic polysynth of the 80s, but elevated to the category of electronic instrument of the 21st century, "the result of our effort to build the modern analog polysynth with the most incredible sound", in the words of the great designer.

The Sequential Circuits Prophet-6 synthesizer retains the best details of the vintage Prophet-5 - truly analog VCOs, filters and VCAs - and enriches them with advanced effects, a polyphonic step sequencer and other goodies.

Developed in direct collaboration with Tom Oberheim, OB-6 takes its inspiration from this master's original designs to deliver "authentic vintage SEM tones with the stability and flexibility of modern technology".

The OB-6 architecture integrates two oscillators per voice plus a sub-oscillator, with saw, variable pulse and triangular waveforms (this only in OSC-2) – all of them continuously variable for greater harmonic diversity. Each voice passes through a 12dB multimode filter (with low-pass, -high, -band, and band-reject responses), inspired by the original SEM circuits. And of course, the analog route is completed with Voltage Controlled Amplifiers (VCA).

Trigon-6, the analog polysynth with three VCOs and ladder filter that excited Dave Smith
Trigon-6, el polisinte analógico con tres VCO y filtro en escalera que entusiasmó a Dave Smith

Sequential Trigon-6 adds a unique stamp to the timeless sound of its family, with feedback, overdrive, and an innovative two-pole mode (12dB drop) over the ladder filter, "for greater versatility and width in your palette of tones". Its filter design is an evolution of the circuitry included in the successful Pro 3 synthesizer.

Replacing the Main Board in a Sequential Prophet 5/10

video upload by Retrothusiast

"I had to replace the main board in my Sequential Prophet 10 because when the Rev 1/2 filters were selected, some of the notes would drop out. This is, however, after I had already replaced this keyboard because my first keyboard would not stay in tune. I'll be posting another video touching on this in the near future.

Sequential sent me new boards and I recorded a quick, down and dirty video documenting the procedure for anyone else who might have to replace their boards and wanted to see what's involved.

I followed these instructions provided by Sequential Support:

Hats off to Sequential Support. This company really is top-notch and despite the issues I had with the hardware, I can tell the Sequential team really cares and is extremely helpful and supportive! Thank you, Sequential!"

Sequential Pro 3 Explorations

video uploads by David Falcon

Playlist:

1. Generator v1 // Generative Ambient // Sequential Pro 3
"Some say that it is a modular system within itself and well, it is amazing all the modulation options with the Mod matrix. I started with a generative patch and progressively added modulators to the modulators, on an Eurorack kind of way to (hopefully) make a more interesting pattern. The sequencer is on paraphonic mode with 3 independent lines on random mode, over G minor and D minor chords."
2. Opening // Sequential Pro 3, Elektron Digitakt, Guitar
This track to me sounds like the opening of a horror show or a thriller. Nearly a year since the last of these videos. Many proyects and a kid after I can sit and play again, make little pieces with no objective in particular.
3. Android Dreams // Digitakt, Pro3, Push, Minilogue xd
Pro 3 is mostly holding a chord with its sequencer moving the filter cutoff around as well as other parameters. On the Digitakt I have loaded a bass line and sparse notes from Pro 3, as well as the usual stuff. Small improvisation on a Minilogue xd off camera, and towards the end I activate the Arp Latch to continue playing. The push is controlling the Arturia Pigments on a preset that reminds me pretty much to the Binding of Isaac's soundtrack.
4. Dark Drones for darker times // Sequential Pro 3
We will never learn from the mistakes of the past, there is always a minority who will jeopardize everything we fight for every day...
5. Ambient Glitches // Digitakt + Sequential PRO 3
Love making these glitch beats to build pieces on top. The Sequential Pro 3 is so good for these genre! Also, shining lights.
6. NEW SYNTH DAY // Sequential Pro 3 + Digitakt + Pigments
"I finally took the plunge and got one of my dream synths, the Sequential Pro 3. A mono/paraphonic beast that makes every other synth I've owned look like a toy. The only complaint is that I didn't go for it much sooner.
Of course one of the first things that I had to do was to put it to work in conjunction with the Elektron Digitakt. Of course they get along great.
There are several sounds like the pluck and the sub bass that come from Arturia Pigments, the first improvised with the Digitakt chromatic keyboard, and the second sequenced. There is also a choir sound from Ableton Live sequenced from Digitakt.
The beat in Digitakt has a "hidden layer" with conditional triggers assigned to the fill button, which triggers a sub kick, as well as several extra percussive sounds.
The first of many videos with this keyboard.
Enjoy."

Sequential Announces Prophet 12 Limited Edition in Custom White - Last of the Prophet 12s

"Sequential Commemorates Final Production Run of Prophet 12 Synth with Custom White, Numbered, Limited Edition of 100

San Francisco, CA—November 15, 2018—Sequential today announced a special numbered, limited edition of its acclaimed Prophet 12 Analog/Digital Hybrid synthesizer. Dubbed the Prophet 12 LE, it features a custom, arctic white finish with maple end caps, making it a visually striking contrast to the standard Prophet 12, which has been a significant part of the Sequential product line since its introduction in 2013.

The Prophet 12 LE will be strictly limited to 100 instruments worldwide and will commemorate the last of these synthesizers that Sequential will create. After that, the Prophet 12 will no longer be available.

Dave Smith had this to say about the Prophet 12 LE: “It’s nice to give the Prophet 12 a proper send-off with this special edition. The P12 was a real milestone for us in terms of pushing the synth envelope. As a hybrid instrument, it gave us a chance to explore the interaction of digital oscillators and analog filters and see how far we could take that idea. It’s still a great instrument and has found its way onto a lot of stages and studios, and into a lot of music.”

Sequential product designer Andrew McGowan recalled the genesis of the Prophet 12: “We’d just released the Tempest analog drum machine after several years of development, and we were turning our attention back to synths for the first time in a while. It gave us the opportunity to look at things with a fresh eye. Interestingly, when Dave and I sat down to draw up a spec, it was immediately apparent that we’d each been sort of designing the same instrument in our minds during our ‘time away’ — a hybrid synth with digital oscillators, dual analog filters, and new modulation possibilities. The Prophet 12 came together quickly after that and turned out really well for us.”

The Prophet 12 LE has the same combination of features as the original Prophet 12 — a bi-timbral, 12-voice architecture, with each voice boasting four high-resolution, multi-waveform digital oscillators, a sub-oscillator, analog low-pass and high-pass filters, analog VCAs, four envelopes and four LFOs, and a set of unique Character Effects for sound shaping. Linear FM capability was later added to the Prophet 12 as a software enhancement, giving the instrument even greater depth and making it one of Sequential’s most versatile poly synths.

The Prophet 12 LE will be available in December of 2018 with a US MAP of $2,999. A limited number of standard-finish black Prophet 12s are also available while stock lasts."

Sequential Circuits' First Product, The Model 600 Sequencer and Complex Wave Generator

Brochure scan in via Brian Kehew.

This is a scan of a product flyer for the the Sequential Circuits Model 600 Sequencer and Complex Wave Generator.  It is first image of the  unit shared on the internet that I am aware of (click here for a search).  It was Sequential Circuits first product. Approximately only four units were made a couple of years prior to the Model 800.

An interesting side note is the aesthetics of the unit.  See if you can spot what's missing before you read on.  Sequential Circuits (along with Oberheim) started out creating products to work with existing synthesizers at the time.  So what's missing?  The trademark knobs and section outlines.  It wasn't until the Model 700 programmer in 1977 that we begin to see what was to become Sequential Circuits trademark look.   Another interesting side note is that the model numbers for Sequential Circuits first three products where not actually sequential, the Model 600 (1974), the Model 800 (1975), and the Model 700 (1977).  They broke out of the "Model" line for the name with the Prophet-5 (which was the Model 1000) in 1978, but came back once with the Model 64 Sequencer for the Commodore 64 in 1983.  One final thing I thought was kind of neat was that the final bullet point in the brochure called out how the Model 600 made for an excellent teaching aid for electronic music.  Indeed.

The following is the description from the scan (note the reference to the unit as a teaching aid):

"MODEL 600 SEQUENCER and COMPLEX WAVE GENERATOR

As A Sequencer -

- Three rows of 16 controls, each row with its own output.
- Built-in sequential control for up to 48 note sequences by turning only one knob.
- Voltage controlled clock can be set internally and/or controlled externally.
Patch one output row back to the VCO input, and the length of each note can be precisely controlled.
- Can sequence slower than one pulse every 30 seconds through and beyond the entire audio range.
- Any one level can be skipped by simply throwing its corresponding switch; hence, any combination of levels can be set.
- Direction switch for forward or backwards direction.
- Handy three-way mixers at the output for easy patch changes.
- LED (light emitting diode) visual display.
- Switch trigger output compatible with Moog synthesizers, including the Mini-Moog.
By flipping one switch, gate and trigger outputs can be obtained for other synthesizers, suck as the ARP 2600.

As A Complex Waveform Generator -

- The quality of the Model 600 makes it possible to be used as a complex waveform generator, with up to 48 segments constructing the composite waveform. Below is an oscilloscope plot of a 48 segment sine wave at 300 hertz, with the lower wave-form the output after being run through a low-pass filter.
- One can easily see the possibility for complete waveform control. With an internal adjustment, the external input can be adjusted to the standard 1 volt/octave; hence, the sequencer can actually be played as an oscillator by any keyboard.
- This capability makes the Model 600 an excellent teaching aid for electronic music, as well as a quality waveform generator for the perfectionist synthesizer performer."

Sequential Take 5 Analog Synthesizer Sounds Part 2

video upload by Pure Ambient Drone

Part 1 here

"Dave Smith and the gang at Sequential have cooked up something special with the Take 5 compact polyphonic analog synthesizer. The Take 5 brings polyphonic analog synthesis and the legendary Sequential sound to a new generation of synthesists. It’s affordable, portable, and approachable — an ideal synth for newcomers and seasoned synth wizards alike. Though compact, the Take 5 certainly doesn’t skimp on tone! Its five voices are massive, owing to its all-analog dual VCOs. Plus, its splendid 4-pole resonant VCF is inspired by the Prophet 5 Rev 4, a modern classic steeped in tradition. With ample modulation options, including two 5-stage envelopes and one global LFO and one freely assignable LFO — there are few areas of subtractive synthesis you can’t explore with the Take 5. Not only is the Take 5 a stellar sound design tool, but it’s also a brilliantly conceived performance instrument that features a satisfying Fatar keybed with aftertouch and velocity sensitivity. You can even split the keys into two performance zones with different octave ranges! Whether it’s your first polyphonic synth or your 50th, the Sequential Take 5 is an ultra-versatile, extremely fun polysynth!

Portable, Powerful, Polyphonic
The Take 5 is Sequential’s most compact, full-featured, full-throttle VCO/VCF-based poly synth ever. It’s the perfect gateway to subtractive synthesis and the creative power of Sequential’s best synths — whether you’re new to analog synths or a space-conscious pro. And since it’s portable, you can transport it from studio to stage without breaking a sweat or leaving any features or playability behind. Genuine Sequential sound and quality at a price within your reach.

Fits Anywhere You Need It
With 44-full-size keys and a total width of just 26 inches, the Take 5 fits easily into your studio or on stage. Its nearly knob-per-function control panel gives you immediate access to all of its essential sound-shaping controls. And its ingenious key-split feature gives you access to a wider playable range than other compact synths by letting you divide the 3.5 octave keyboard into two separate performance zones.

Powerful Synthesis
The five voices of the Take 5 get their distinctive sound from a combination of two analog VCOs and a sub oscillator passing through a Prophet-5-lineage 4-pole analog filter. The result is classic Sequential — smooth, warm, punchy sound that sits perfectly in a mix and cuts through clearly on stage. For even more analog-style goodness, a Vintage knob adds voice-to-voice variation for genuine vintage character. Dual Digital effects, a dedicated overdrive, continuously variable wave shaping, and front-panel access to analog FM all ensure the Take 5 can kick out modern tone just as easily as it does vintage..

Finishing Touches
The Take 5 feature set is rounded out with two LFOs (1 global, and 1 per-voice), two ADSR+delay envelopes, extensive modulation, a 64-step polyphonic sequencer, and a multimode arpeggiator. The premium Fatar keybed makes it a pleasure to play, wherever you take it."

Sequential Circuits MAX 620 W/Commodore 64 and Extras

via this auction

"You are looking at a "combo" auction for a Sequential Circuits MAX Model 620 and a Commodore SX-64. We purchased the keyboard, computer and extras from one customer who used the whole system, and it would be a shame to split them up.

Sequential for iPad

iTunes: Sequential for iPad - Artemiy Pavlov

"Instantly reshape any loop beyond imaginable. Create amazing breaks, fills and transitions. Turn even the simplest sounds into unique animated textures. Sequential is an extremely fun yet versatile app for animated effect processing.

POWERFUL EFFECTS
Sequential lets you load audio samples for looped playback and apply up to 11 different effects in a rhythmical order. It includes many classic algorithms such as low- and high-pass filters, flanger, resonator, bit crusher, but goes much further with Sinevibes' trademark wave transformer, circuit bender and even synthesizers controlled by the sound's dynamics.

FUN WORKFLOW
Creating effect patterns with Sequential is more game than workflow. With its bold shapes, clever color coding and all-round use of animations, it feels alive and almost connected straight to your brain. All parameters you change are saved along the audio files and recalled without you even noticing — everything just works the way you think it should.

INSTANT RECORDING
Whatever you hear coming out of Sequential can be recorded, even if you activate recording as you play. Moreover, all recordings are trimmed precisely to a bar, meaning you will always get audio that loops rhythmically.

DIVERSE CONTENT
Sequential comes with a tasty selection of bass and rhythm loops in a wide variety of music styles, including house, drum'n'bass, r'n'b, dubstep, trap, hardstyle, electro, and more.

EASY SHARING
You can import your own loops and export recordings both via the general pasteboard and iTunes file sharing. Sequential supports .wav and .aiff files in 16 bit 44.1 KHz format."

"Sequential PRO 3 overview, sounds and demo by Carson Day from Sequential. Filmed at Robotspeak in San Francisco, this in-depth synth demo of the Sequential PRO 3 covers nearly every feature and function in detail. In this Sequential PRO 3 overview, Carson takes us through the synth's oscillators, filters, envelopes, effects, sequencer, arpeggiator, feedback, modulation matrix and more while showcasing some sounds.

The Sequential PRO 3 is a hybrid multi-filter mono synthesizer with 60 knobs and 70 buttons, FATAR 37-note semi-weighted keyboard and 3-voice optional paraphony mode (feat. individually gated envelopes per oscillator). The PRO 3 features 3 oscillators (two VCOs + one wavetable), 3 analog filters, 3 LFOs, 4 loopable envelopes, noise, hard sync, glide, tuned feedback, analog distortion, arpeggiator, 16x16x4 sequencer + 16-track sequencer, dual digital effects engines, touch slider and mod wheels, and a staggering 32-slot mod matrix.

All of this together makes the Sequential PRO 3 a powerhouse for sound design, and it is one of the most versatile and flexible mono synths to date. Big thanks to Carson for taking us through the features and functions of the PRO 3 in this demo and overview, and Robotspeak for hosting the event."

Synthesizer Demo by Rik Marston
** Watch in HD** **100% NO TALKING!!**

Here is the third video demonstration of the super
RARE Sequential SPLIT-EIGHT 8 voice / VCO analog
synthesizer. (Don't forget to check out my other
Sequential SPLIT-EIGHT synthesizer video demos!)
I am sooo loving it's character, I really can make some
close John Carpenter synthesizer sounds with this,
(The Thing, Escape from New York, ETC.) It's better
than my old PROPHET-600 (non-modded) did at it as
a matter of fact!!! I'd love a newly upgraded Sequential
Circuits PROPHET-600 -THAT WOULD ROCK!!!
Hum.... I'd LOVE a Sequential Prophet-6 even more!!!!!!!
Anyways, here are a few demos of the "Hollow Pad"
sound, a Jupiter-like sweep sound, a Funky Bass line
tweaked into oblivion & a Trance Pad... or whatever
the kids are calling it today... LOL!

Recorded into Ableton Live 7 with Simple GROOVE Delay

Thank you for watching!
