Lets Make the Bass from “Hot To GO!" by Chappell Roan
video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music
"In this video, I take on the challenge of recreating the bass sound from Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go” using four legendary vintage synthesizers: Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, Roland Jupiter-8, ARP 2600 & Minimoog.
The secret sauce? Pulse width modulation (PWM)—it’s the key to nailing that rich, dynamic bass tone. I’ll walk you through how I dial in the sound on each synth and perform the bassline, so you can hear the differences and pick your favorite. You'll see that sometimes a simple sound requires some very subtle knob turns especially with the envelope, generators, filter, modulation, and resonance
But here’s the real takeaway—it’s not about which synth was used on the record, but about understanding how to craft the sound on any synth you have. Once you know the building blocks, you can shape it your way. Plus, the way you play the notes is just as important as the sound itself!
So, which synth gets the vibe just right? Watch and decide for yourself!"

Sequential Take 5 Jam #2 | No Talking
video upload by Igor Khabarov
First jam here
"This jam was performed and recorded on the analog synthesizer Sequential Take 5. I used a stock preset called Fifth Dimension and modified its sound throughout the jam. I'm not a big fan of the built-in effects on this synth, so I further processed its sound using the Chase Bliss MOOD mk2 pedal, which adds atmospheric reverb. A bit of post-processing and mastering were done in Ableton Live.

Skyline ๐️ (Elektron Digitone + Pioneer Rmx-500 // Sequential Take 5 + Strymon Deco 2)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"Just wanted to start 2025 with a very simple and smooth 2-Minute jam before moving on to more serious matters ๐
In this jam, the Elektron Digitone is sequencing a couple of patterns playing mainly BELLS and CHIMES (with probability etc.). I'm using the RMX-500 remix station to add reverb (DOWN REVERB) and tremolo (TRANS) effects on the Digitone's output.
The BASS and LEAD part is being played in real-time on the Take 5, which is running through the Strymon Deco 2 pedal which is adding more character and fluctuations to the sound.
0:06 Playing with the REVERB DOWN knob
0:16 Take 5 real-time playing
0:56 Unmuting track 3 & 4 on the Digitone
1:16 Enabling the TRANS effect
1:44 Outro"

Black Rain (Sequential Take 5 and Soma Cosmos Performance)
video upload by MKustomAudio
"With the @somasynths Cosmos, it makes it easy to create an ambience perfomance using a single sound source. In this video, the various patches from the@SequentialLLC Take 5 are routed into the Cosmos with some additional reverb provided by the @1010music Bluebox (also recording the audio). Further processing of the captured audio was then applied in the DAW.
For additional visuals, the @SleepyCircuits Hypno was used with assistance from the @empresseffects Zoia Euroburo. The audio signal from the Take 5 and Cosmos outputs were used for modulating certain parameters while the MIDI note value generated when playing the Take 5 changes the color."

Heaven ๐ (Elektron Digitone + Rmx500 // Roland JD08 // Sequential Take 5 + Deco 2)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"Everything started with the FM DRUM pattern I made on the DIGITONE which is running through the Pioneer RMX-500 (adding fills, breaks etc.).
I used a lot if the cool features of the powerful DIGITONE's sequencer for this track, like probability (for DRUM sounds, PADS and BASS notes etc.), trig conditions, p-locks, note shift (the "accelerating" PLUCK notes for example) etc. ๐คฉ
It was also time to get the Sequential Take 5 (through the Strymon DECO v2) back on the desk for the fat BASS sound (sequenced by the DIGITONE).
I used the Roland JD-08 for the PLUCK sound (Part1) and PADS (Part2), both parts being sequenced by the DIGITONE too ๐

Prophet Rev 2
video uploads by Daniel Mana - sound designer & composer
Playlist:
1. The Prophet Rev2 makes me dream
I love spending hours just tweaking the knobs of the Rev2, the Prophet Rev2 makes me dream and it takes me to unexplored territories. As I said in a previous videos it's not an "easy" synthesizer, it takes time to find the sound you are looking for but it's capable of anything really.2. How does the Prophet Rev2 filter sound? I love it!
How is that possible? do you think it spunds bad? How does the Prophet Rev2 filter sound? I love it! it's great! please let me know in the comments.3. Prophet Rev 2 + Moog Grandmother arpeggio on a sunday morning
The Sequential Prophet rev2 and the Moog Grandmother are a perfect combo, the first one is a polyphonic synthesizer, the second is a dream monophonic semimodular synth.4. Sequential Prophet rev2 // a unique sounding synthesizer [previously posted here]
This recording was part of my usual sunday morning making music routine, after playing a little bit with the Sequential Rev 2 and its modulation I came up with this patch that I really liked and it sounded great as a layer for the Grandomother arpeggios running over it. I play with the filter and with the envelopes on the grandmother and towards the add I add the extra modulation to the vcf from the lfo. Pretty happy the way it came out.
The Sequential Prophet rev2 is a unique sounding synthesizer, I have read so many things about it, a lot of people say it doesn't good, some say it's the best synth ever, well....I love it!
Does it sound like a Prophet 5? No
Does it sound like a Prophet? Absolutely yes
Is it better or worse than a Prophet 5? it's different, it has its own sounds and I really like it, you can dial in any sound really, and it does sound big!
There is one thing though that I've read and I do agree with, it's not an "easy" synth, and by easy I mean that it does take a little bit longer in order to dial in a certain sound that you are looking for.
It offers infinite possibilities of modulation, maybe too many, but it's very easy to use and intuitive.
The possibilty to split the keyboard or to stack two layers of sounds makes it a beast!
