acBMS/R demo

Published on Feb 10, 2017 analog craftsman

"Highlighting some uses of our bypass mute send/return module. Audio from the resonance of our ac2600 VCF."

$199 via Analog Craftsman

"Bypass. Mute. Send/Return.

Not every module has a bypass. Sometimes that’s lame. Not every source goes into a console with a mute button. Sometimes you want that. Sometimes you want to audition some filters. Send your VCO to some and decide what sounds best. This module allows you to do all these things. Times four.

Input your signal and use the three position switch to pass the signal directly to the output, mute the signal, or send it to another destination, such as a filter or effect, and then return the signal to the module. The outputs of each channel are normalized via switching jacks to the input below them so it is possible to input a signal to channel 1 and send it to four separate destinations via each channels send.

Its versatile. It’s useful. It’s fun."

Mu Format VCO Comparison

Published on Feb 9, 2017 Synthesizer Reviews

"Side by side comparison of the Synthesizers.com q106 VCO, the Corsynth c104 Odyssey of Sound VCO, and the Analog Craftsman acVCO. The point of the oscillator comparison is to point out the feature differences as well as sonic differences between these three, readily available modules in the Mu (Moog Unit) modular format. They all share a synthesizers.com power header, are all 2 units wide, and all generate traditional 'East Coast' sounds.

The c104 and acVCO are available factory direct, as well as through www.noisebug.com

The q106 is available exclusively factory direct, at www.synthesizers.com"

Analog Craftsman Polivoks Filter Demo

Published on Oct 21, 2015 davidryle

"Analog Craftsman's prototype of the Polivoks Filter.

Analog Craftsman sells these at
http://analogcraftsman.com/?product=a...

The filter is a classic design with tons of character. Unlike any other filter. If you don't think so, then just listen to this demo.

This is the prototype of the filter Analog Craftsman is now selling. There may be differences but this is still one mighty nice sounding filter."

Sync Sweep Ratcheting

Published on Oct 3, 2015 Autotross

"A sequence using 2 different speeds of ratcheting controlled by switches and clocked from the Analog Craftsman RCD/SCM.

The main sound is an oscillator sync-sweep type of patch, with a bit of audio-rate grit on the filter.

Row 1 of the Q960 controls the main sequence. Row 2 adds the higher accent rhythm. And row 3 controls the amount of sync-sweep and grit."

Modbox Loopin Class II

"Not very musical, but certainly some cool analog experiments... one of the first times I fed an envelope generator (Analog Craftsman Q A/R actually) into a filter. It really does some interesting sound shaping. I fell in love with this gritty loop so I thought I'd share."

Analog Craftsman 5U Dual Wasp State Variable Analog Filter

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"This is a brand new dual Wasp state variable analog filter hand built in the USA by analog craftsman. The panel is based on the original design of the EDP Wasp keyboard synthesizer (the picture of the original wasp in this posting is just for reference and is NOT included in this auction). This module uses NOS Harris 3080 OTAs. The main output is switchable between LP, BP, and HP. There is also a separate output for the notch filter (as the original Wasp didn't have this). Also features CV input attenuator and a variable distortion circuit on each filter. The output of the A side is normalled to the input of the B side so you can use the two filters in series without additional patching for some VERY drastic timbres. If you know the Wasp filter, you know it can scream.

Again, this is factory new, fully tested and ready to ship. Also remember it is TWO discrete filters in one module, which is reflected in the price. There is no commercially available 5U build of this so here is your chance to own a custom build of one of the most unique and historic analog filters."

An Interview with Analog Craftsman's Anthony Norton on Atomic Shadow

via Atomic Shadow where you'll find the full interview.

"3- What inspires your module designs?

Things that don't exist in large format. My first production module was ARCADE [prototype pictured below]. It combined my love for classic arcade video games with controlling modular synthesizers for both euro and 5U formats. We even have a prototype for a banana version for the Serge/Buchla crowd.
Otherwise, I like offering classic circuits in their original design to folks who cant afford the real thing. Arp and Polivoks VCFs and also the mixer from the Polivoks, both with all original Russian ICs sourced from behind the former iron curtain. Also the venerable Chris Carter Gristleizer..."

analog craftsman/4MS SCM/RCD first look

Published on Aug 14, 2013 boothnavy·32 videos

"This is the first completed, limited edition, 5U/MU build of the 4MS SCM/RCD. Some features of this module are:

-Tap tempo button which controls the tempo of both sides without the need for an external clock. Each side can also be clocked together or separately from external sources.

-Reset button on the RCD.

-Variable control of skip and pulse width of SCM.

-Pull switches on the pots for controlling spread and counting (up beat or down beat) of the RCD.

This short video shows both sides being clocked by an external source and then the tap tempo button. Adjustment of the pulse width and the skip setting for the SCM.

Sources are Modcan 01B VCO and 07B pink noise into 21B dual VCA. The SCM/RCD is doing all the gating."
