"German HiFi Manufacturer Teufel was getting rid of the analog system they used to design crossovers for their loudspeakers. I could not pass up the opportunity to get this piano-sized analog filterbank in my studio. Together with @LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER I explored the musical use of this gigantic piece of obsolete technology.

There's another slightly more advanced gray version under the same name that LookMumNoComputer/THIS MUSEUM IS (NOT) OBSOLETE covered: [posted here] But it doesn't look half way as sweet.

The Drum Machine That Shaped Krautrock

"The Elka Drummer One is no Klaus Dinger or Jaki Liebzeit, but it deserves its place in the history of Krautrock drumming. It was used by a bunch of German bands at the time, most prominently the wonderful Harmonia, a supergroup consisting of members of Neu! and Cluster (some of which where involved in a short-lived iteration of Karftwerk, too). "The Crosfobermordulator is a full synth voice in kosmo format, it was built after sharing a DIY how to video of making a DIY synth voice on breadboard link here, i took that design and i built on it a tad, to make a cross modulating funky synth voice with its own funky quirks, its not a do all synth voice! but it sure is funky. with 2 oscillators (one primary oscillator and a modulation oscillator that can also be a second oscillator, or even both at the same time, 1 low pass funky distorting harmonic filter, noise, 2 envelope generators and a voltage controlled depth of modulation which really opens up to some funky sounds!"

"Sam Battle, AKA LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, returns with his latest and most personal single, T.I.M. The emotional track was inspired by Battle’s own experience with loss and grieving experiences that don’t work out as expected:

“Tim is a song about things not always going to plan, and not knowing how to express your feelings. It’s a song about an experience my wife and I had earlier in the year when her pregnancy didn’t go completely to plan.”

The track’s melody was initially devised at a show in Copenhagen, where Sam was improvising.

“The song was recorded on my analog synth, the melody I had for a while from the chorus. I kept playing it in livestreams and people picked it out as a melody they liked, I liked it too! It was all recorded live from the modular synth then I wrote the song over.”

LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER will headline London’s Oslo on the 22nd of November, and has recently announced an EU tour for 2024."

Sam Battle, aka LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER closes out the year with his cathartic new single Time Is Not A Healer It’s A Fuel for Resentment. The latest release from the renowned musician, innovator and maker is an upbeat melancholic indie ballad that finds him at his most contemplative.

"This is a song I have been humming for a while, I initially made up the riff when making the furby organ, and played it in the furby organ video but to me it was always this song I was playing. I wrote it in a lonely place in me life, no idea what it’s actually about but I have my ideas haha! Only sad times you can write tunes like this I think! I made it on my home made synth and an

old analog polyphonic synth to make it fit with my other tunes even though this one is a tad more on the emotional end of it all."

Speaking about the accompanying video, Sam says:

"We went to the woods at sunrise but we just missed it because I spent an hour in the morning trying to figure out a bow tie. We shot it to make it look as believable as we could it being a low budget music video from 1986 including power stances and arm waves. All the good stuff"
